Not sure what the fuss was about with the sandwiches. They looked huge and smelled REALLY good and are only $ 4 – 5! But when we got back home we were sadly disappointed. Maybe some tzatziki sauce would’ve made the dry, sad sandwich with one piece of hollow chicken better. Liver sandwich was not much better. But on a brighter note, the baklava was delicious! Not too sweet.

I’m in a good mood. But really, I have stopped by here four times already within a month and I’m always tempted to go back to this tiny very-Iraqi shop, regardless of the day. Reason? Two-fold: The elder man behind this shop is so friendly and always put me to good spirits. He also has offered me to sample some of the decadent sweets. Which comes to the second point: The sweets — by far the best and amazing Middle Eastern sweets that I have had in a very very long time(ever, if I can ever dare myself to say it!). The fried Iraqi lady fingers were decadent and has this delicious cream inside. But even the traditional baklava fingers and the nests that you see in other Middle Eastern places is no match for the ones in this store. I have tried three other sweets here and frankly, I have not a single complaint about any of them. Which surprises me since I usually find one flaw at least. Well, maybe the kunafa could be a little bit thicker with more cheese. But still, I bought enough for several days and I just had to eat it all in one day. They also serve food and Iraqi breads. Every time I come here, there is always some guy that comes into the store and takes out heaping amounts of bread to go. So this place is quite popular, it seems. I tried also the kabob sandwich that’s served in an Iraqi bread and I thought it was just ok since the bread wasn’t toasted but this place isn’t meant to be a restaurant. It’s a bakery that serves two or three types of breads but first and foremost, it’s the best sweets shop in all of DFW(and better than the one a street down too, if you are wondering). I’ll definitely be sure to keep returning. Note: If you come here, you’ll for sure feel like you’re in a tiny sweets shop right in the middle of the Middle East.

Completely authentic Middle Eastern food and the desserts are off the chain! The man helping us was so sweet our teeth ached, literally! He let me try everything I asked about without question, a service I did not expect to have happen. Walked away super satisfied and with half a pound of lady fingers and awama! Awesome food and terrific service!

This place is 150% authentic. Just go ahead and go straight there. Amazing kabob grilled on charcoal. Made from scratch Iraqi bread. Beautiful hand made pastries. It’s a whole in the wall on the side of a shopping center which adds to the charm. Try the kefta sandwich for lunch!

The best Baklava, Lady Fingers, and Mabroma in Dallas. Beside its delicious taste, the Mabroma has rose water in it, wonderful flavor! This place is small but has great desserts and gracious owner, Mr. Hassan. These authentic ethnic, mom & pop places need all the supports they can get to survive and prosper.

I’m a Middle Eastern food addict. This was my first visit to Albaghdady. It’s a small take away that serves authentic Iraqi baked sweets and meals. I tried the mixed kebab plate of shish taouk, tikka skewers, chicken kebab, tomatoes, onions and bread. It was delish! I didn’t try any of the desserts but had a sample of the mabroma. There’s a bit to choose from. Overall loved it and you will too!

My husband and I were nearly in tears of happiness having found this place. There is another excellent Iraqi restaurant just down the street which I also gave a high rating, but this one stands above it. The desserts are FANTASTIC and the first time we were able to get them outside of Iraq. My family is Iraqi and it is so unbelievably hard to find anything Iraqi food-wise in the U.S. This place is so authentic, so fresh, and the staff are incredibly excited about what they do. Yes, it’s a hole in the wall and it’s amazing. These little food stops are what I live for and to have found such awesome bread, meats, and incredible desserts in one little spot is awesome. My husband and I plan road trips from OK just to eat here and bring back food… it’s that good. Really. Don’t eat at the other fancy crap in the area, come here. This is where it’s at.

Small whole in a wall but the food is great. It’s a to go or catering place so don’t expect a to sit. I had the kabab sandwich in Iraqi Samoon(Iraqi bread) ummmm good stuff. Also you have to get Gamer and Samoon for later. It is a traditional Iraqi breakfast, you just need to pure fresh honey or your favorite jam. Pastry also good. Had the Znood Elsit. Good stuff but heavy. The owners is super nice and very welcoming.

This is a new hidden pickup bakery in Richardson. There isn’t a place to sit and eat though. We picked up some baklava and it didn’t disappoint. They also sell meat and need to come back to try their grilled stuff.
