Queso tastes like it came from a can. El Chico TV Dinner taste better. Wait staff was awesome. Disappointment.

I just started going back to Dos Charros a few months ago. There were a couple of years where the food and service was kind of bad. I would order their fajitas for carryout and there was always a funky smell so I decided not to go back.
Well, after coming back a few months ago, I can say that the food and service has really improved. I can’t make any comments on the dining experience since I only order carry out, but my food has been excellent every single time since returning. The fajitas are great (I’m eating them as I type this) and I love their spicy combo fajitas with beef, chicken and shrimp. They also offer a number of delicious seafood dishes like Quesadillas Del Mar, Lobster Enchiladas, Red Snapper, etc.
Another reviewer mentioned the older customers that come and eat here. Not sure why that would be a problem unless you are afraid of old people. They have probably been eating here since Dos Charros first opened their doors.
I come to Dos Charros for the food and the great reputation they have had over the years. Dos Charros has been a part of the Richardson community for a very long time and I’m sure they will be here for decades to come.

I enjoyed it, my girlfriend, not as much. I went on a weekend when they had a buffet style, and all the goods were there. I thought the food was delicious! The staff was friendly and the price was good. I will go back next time by myself I guess!

Not good at all. The food was bland and kind of funky looking. No wonder the place was empty. Too expensive for what you get. I’m pretty upset that I spent about $ 70 on such bad food. Will not return.

This place was amazing! We had the Buffett it was totally worth it, it had a great selection and the sopapillas were to die!!!

Simple, delicious Mexican food. Chips come to the table hot and the salsa is fresh. Wait staff is amazing. It’s the kind of service you only get from longtime staff. I love seeing the same faces year after year and the owner cashes everyone out.
Try the frozen peach margarita. You’ll wonder why you ever ordered anything else.

The food is bland. The dining area is cramped. The customers when we were there were all over 65. A pretty sad attempt at a restaurant at this point.

Pretty good food! Their service is extraordinarily fast. Once you place an order it shouldn’t take more than 5 to 10 minutes for you to get your plate. Have come back to eat here several times and will continue to come here. They have happy hour specials every day after 3 PM.

Nice Place !! Best fajitas you can eat around here. They have a nice soup too, during lunch time.

We went Saturday for the buffet that happens 11−8p. It was okay. They have a large variety of food. The enchiladas and guacamole were my favorite. The staff is very friendly and prompt. It was an overall good experience, but not my favorite.

My family has been coming to this restaurant for almost 10 years and even considered buying a house near it because it has always been one of our favorite Mexican food place. Customer service is consistently good and the food is always amazing.
The spinach or seafood enchiladas never disappoint.

We have started eating here once a week. Always great! A one star review from a wanna be food critic that eats at national overpriced chain joints is ridiculous.

Great food and super fast service. Wait staff friendly. Everyday 2 to close is $ 2.00 margaritas (wine based). And on Friday half price deserts. On Saturday and Sunday have a lunch buffet with pretty much all menu items on it.

We have eaten here the past two Friday nights. Great food, to die for queso — get the spicy one and add taco meat! Good friendly service and yummy food.

Nice little hole in the wall Tex-​Mex place with a good menu. There are daily specials that are also worth giving a try.
Lunch also have a buffet that doesn’t have too much variety, but has the basics and do them well. During the week is better, so that there is always a stream of hot and fresh food coming out to the buffet
The chips left a little to be desired, but they have some pretty good spicy queso that they will cover their enchiladas with. I suggest trying it with the chicken enchiladas.

Brian picked this place. I have to say I was impressed with the speed of their service and the fact it was a plain Jane decorated place. There was no bright over the top murals or carved tables.
The chips and salsa were good. The tamales I ordered were covered in a nasty burned chili sauce. So didn’t like it at all. I Will Not Be Back To This place. I’m a tamale man. It’s simple and pure. I may have to start asking if they have different sauce. But not here.

I will review what I ate and I am also not a Super Tex-​Mex fan.
Salsa — Bland, but hot with a tomato paste texture.
Chicken Avocado Enchiladas — The guacamole inside (I was hoping for whole avocados slices) did not taste fresh. I don’t know if it was from a bucket or maybe just made earlier.
Chicken — The chicken chunks that were sprinkled on top was decent.
Re-​fried Beans — The beans were OK but bland.
Rice — Also bland almost taste like instant rice.
The only Tex-​Mex really enjoy are Chuy’s and Papasitos. Just to give you an idea.
