Food taste is not so good. kadai paneer and garlic naan are the worst. but I like the mango shake so much.

This place is just kind of… yucky. Do not look into the kitchen. It will definitely turn you off your meal. Bathrooms are grungy. That being said, they do have some awesome food, particularly the Indian breads(garlic naan, batura) and the fried stuff. Sag paneer is also good. Service is on the whole decent, but definitely can be bad if it’s a busy night. Many of the waitresses do not speak English.

I like this eatery a lot. but have noticed that they use the same vegetables in almost every dish. For example the sambhar only had Zucchini and Capsicum. and the curry next to it also had zucchini and capsicum. They told me that the dinner is a special with 60 types of dosa. I ordered a masala dosa and it came out tiny and undercooked. The guy next to me had a nice big crispy dosa, I asked what is that and was told that it is «ala carte» dosa. My dosa which was part of «speical» dosa buffet was actually the most miserable dosa I have ever seen. it seems that they do many things only for name sake rather than putting their heart into making it delicious. Not a bad eatery… but they cut corners massively when making food.

Great food and service. The only downside is that the place is outdated and the lighting is very dim. Otherwise, it’s always fun coming here wth my family.

Excellent vegetarian food. Sometimes a little spicy so you might need a sweet lassi to cool your mouth down. Only thing keeping me from 5 stars is that they very often have coconut chutney that is either mediocre on good days and stale/old/weird most other days.

The food was very bad today! Quality was just bad and very disappointing experience. 1) food was not cooked correctly 2) nan is hard and mostly burnt 3) no customer service from the waiters 4) dirty bathroom

If you’re looking for vegan or vegetarian restaurants in Dallas or surrounding areas, try this one. I went in and tried their buffet, and was pleasantly surprised. The waitress then came over and brought me 2 additional plates of food to try, and those options were just yummy. Not too spicy, either. I ended up paying only one price, for the buffet, but felt like I ate enough for 2 meals. Anyway, it was a nice experience, and I’ll be back for sure.

Average Food. Somehow their dishes never taste fresh to me and it feels as though it has just been heated in the microwave. The Vada was a huge disappointment as I am a huge fan of Medu Vada. Nevertheless, the dosa is decent and its always a safe option here!

My boyfriend had been raving about this establishment for months so we finally decided to drive from Arlington to Richardson on a Friday evening. When we go there we realized that there were only 3 other tables with guests that night. Eek. Instead of heading to my beloved Mumtaz we decided to stay because he wanted for me to try South Indian food. The food was very disappointing and seemed like they heated everything up. It’s kind of sad because he said that the last time he was here a couple of years ago the food was pretty delicious.

This place gave me food poisoning on Thursday July 16th, 2015 at lunch service. There was no soap in the bathroom. It certainly looks ghetto inside. Steer clear of this place.

We went here yesterday after a UNT graduation ceremony. Normally I prefer North Indian food over South Indian food. I realized after eating here that I’ve been eating South Indian food(in restaurants) from people that aren’t good cooks. Let me tell you how good this food is… I was eating vegetables(some type of korma… think fritter… think breaded and well seasoned veggie) and thought it was chicken!(I didn’t pick the restaurant and didn’t know it was vegetarian. I also didn’t read the signage above every dish.) I ate with two, native S. Indians. One of these two also thought it was chicken! So, what does that say besides they also didn’t read the signage? If you can«fool» a meat eater into thinking they are eating meat, that’s skill baby. The food was fantastic! We ate almost everything on the buffet. The employees were very attentive. They quickly picked up your finished plates. They were very friendly. Price Point… gots to be budget friendly. Three people ate the buffet for $ 40.07. I think that was good. We are talking about a buffet. Oh… the Mango Kulfi… I had two servings. It was the best I’ve ever had(song reference). So why 4 stars and not 5? The chairs were sticky and a bit dingy.(This equates to dirt.) The floor were slick(not safe). Also, the water they provided didn’t seem filtered. It tasted like Collin County tap water.(Yea it’s a brand I love to hate and only good for steady washing. Did you catch those modified rap lyrics? Yes? You= old school.) So, would I go back? I said, «hells yeah». I’m thinking about what I ate yesterday right now. I’d be thinking about this food about a week ago.(Yea…easy like Sunday morning(today) song mods).

I was not a big fan of vegetarian food apart from my home food. But now I’m kind of addicted to these guys. We visit this place for lunch. The food is just great! Pongal, vada, etc etc you find the best south Indian food here. You gotta try the filter coffee, just superb.

Madras Pavillion is the place to eat if you’re looking for authentic south indian food. I took some friends here for dosa. Their menu«americanized»(for lack of a better word) a lot of the items so I was confused as to what they really were. But you won’t go wrong if you order the butter masala dosa! It comes with potato, two chutneys, and sambar(a tomato soup-like substance). It wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked, but my friends loved it because they don’t crave that authentic Indian spice like I do.

We visit Madras pavilion often. Their dosas are great, but their noth indian curries are better. I love their paneer butter masala and the dal makhni. great taste. Service is bad, very slow, irrespective of how crowded or how emplty the place is. They should work on that. Overall, good place and worth visiting.

It’s interesting reading the other reviews of this place and thinking about to my experiences here. Here’s the low down… if you are going in and comparing this to what you deem to be a «normal» restaurant experience, you will in fact be disappointed. This place doesn’t really put its money into it’s décor(which is circa early 90s) or its waitstaff(which is 1 – 2 guys, running around like they are in Diner Dash). It makes up with the authenticity of its food. At the end of the meal, you pay at the front, get some sweetened fennel seeds and bid namaste. With that caveat being said, my experience… You know it’s a good place when there are only people of that ethnicity dining and you know it’s an even better place when you are the only North Indian(as the hubster and I are) dining in a room full of South Indians at a South Indian restaurant. The waiter was slow and he did look mostly confused but seeing how he was the only one serving 7 tables, I cut him a break. Please don’t get the pasta stuffed dosa… You are at an Indian restaurant… go big, go home. I got the masala dosa(basically a lentil/rice crêpe stuffed with spicy mashed potatoes)… It was HUGE. I could have wrapped myself in it. It was delicious and just like mama makes. The side chutneys were pretty good. though there was a beige one that just didn’t do anything for me. Whenever I feel like being«Indian food bad» this is my go-to place… especially when I want to eat something bigger than my head.
