The worst sushi in the town!!! Really no good! No next time!!! Bad service, bad food, wait for long time! The majority rolls are pretty low quality, filled with a lot of rice. Sushi also like that, make us eat a lot of rice!!! And the sushi taste not fresh to me! Kindly of warm sushi, and a lot of broken pieces, we were waited for 49 minutes, only ate 10 minutes just go!!! I am seriously, never go again!

This place was very ok. The food was tasty but also unmemorable. The ambience is nice, very sleek and modern, and the service is average. We ordered the yakisoba, curry, and tempura Las Vegas roll. The portions are quite big here. I enjoyed the yakisoba, which had tofu, red pepper, and onions, but I’ve def had better elsewhere. The curry was Chinese style and felt a little watery. I didn’t think it was spicy at all, my my dad was sweating by the end of it. The Las Vegas roll was actually very tasty, even tho it had cooked salmon, since my dad doesn’t eat raw fish. It was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Also, their sushi portions are huuuge! You get 12 rolls instead of the usual 6 – 8. The prices were pretty reasonable as well, average for a Japanese restaurant. So the food I would say is actually a 3.5. I mean, I had a good meal but I just wasn’t that impressed.

Nice atmosphere, and a pretty good selection for an AYCE $ 15 special for sushi. Compared to some other places I’ve been to the prices are a bit higher which pushes the AYCE on you more. The sushi was good though. Not my preferred place but certainly a place where I’d take friends curious about trying sushi for the first time so they can get a great variety to try. My only reason for giving it 3 stars instead of something higher is because there’s several other great options not even 10 minutes away.

I love this place. They do all you can eat sushi with $ 15 at lunch and $ 25 at dinner time. You can order sushi, rolls, appetizers and soda or tea. Their sushi quality is almost same as other regular sushi places. Also their tempura is so good with udong. I definately come back. I am a fan if this place.

I wouldn’t go here for the AYCE at dinner. Went here for lunch and it was barely worth the $ 15. The majority of the rolls are pretty low quality and filled with rice. The sushi didn’t taste fresh to me. The best things we ate were the sweet potato fries and fried rice which says a lot. For a few more bucks I’d head up 75 to Japan House for more variety.

Looking for a quality lunch deal? Sushi Zen is here to cater to all of our weekday sushi cravings at a great price. For $ 15(Lunch), Sushi Zen offers AYCE sushi, nigiri, and appetizers. Unlike most AYCE sushi joints in the DFW, Sushi Zen makes all of their rolls and nigiri to order. The sushi and nigiri are not made with an absurd amount of rice and are actually very generous in term of fish. Throughout the meal, the fish was consistently fresh in every roll and piece of nigiri. My favorite rolls, the Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon weren’t too spicy or overly sauced. We ordered around 20 pieces of salmon nigiri throughout the meal and each piece was fresh and appropriately proportioned. Sushi Zen also has an extensive appetizer menu that is also included in the AYCE price. The fried calamari was crispy and burning hot. The dipping sauce isn’t rave worthy but its nothing that a little soy sauce can’t fix. I also recommend ordering the fried soft tofu. It is close to the temperature of lava when it first comes out but is a great appetizer while you wait for your sushi. There is a party room available if you want to host a party for all of your sushi locing friends. Need step by step instructions? 1. Sit down and peruse the menu. * You get three rounds to order. Each round has unlimited orders but its better to order more later because you get charged for leftover food. * 2. Place your order on the sheet of paper using numbers. *If you want to get your sushi on a boat, a surplus of 10 rolls will need to be ordered. Otherwise it’ll come to you on a plate.* Lunch AYCE $ 15, Dinner AYCE $ 25.(Weekday prices).

Very generous portions on any sashimi order, I had Salmon and Tuna and the quality of the fish was excellent. Wonderful presentation by Chef and the entire staff was very friendly. Happy with my total dinning experience.

For an AYCE sushi spot, this place is pretty amazing! I’ve gone here several times with my friends and it’s been a hit every time. The waiters and waitresses are very kind and make sure that you are well taken care of without making you feel like their overbearing or rushing you. Once in a while, the sushi chefs will even give a shout asking how you are from behind the bar. THEY’RESUPERNICE! I generally come here for lunch where the AYCE menu is $ 15 as opposed to the $ 25AYCE dinner. Honestly, if it’s dinner I don’t think it’s worth it. The menu isn’t all that different, while it is still a pretty good deal for the amount they give you and that you can take in, I still think that the AYCE lunch is a bigger bang for your buck. If you’re really craving it then save your craving for lunch. Trust me, your pocket will thank me later. As far as the quality of the food goes, I’d say it’s pretty quality sushi. For someone who enjoys a lot of raw sushi, I wouldn’t say it’s fine dining quality, but for cheap sushi it’s pretty decent. I’ve gone to a lot of cheap sushi places(*cough* Sushi Shack *cough*) where the fish still has an odd fishy scent and they overload on the rice to save on the expensive fish. I always end up getting a minor sickening feeling half way through the meal. If it wasn’t for the fact that they charge extra for leftovers, I’d totally dump the dish at these other places. Comparing Sushi Zen to a nearby AYCE sushi place, Sushi Shack(where that sickening feeling comes from), Sushi Zen does a good job at serving fresh and clean sashimi and rolls. My favorites are definitely the salmon sashimi, shrimp tempura, salmon and avocado roll, and the calamari roll. Not only does the sushi taste great, the presentation is super cool! Everything you order, if you order enough, is placed on this big wooden boat. It’s definitely something worthy of that Instagram, Unilocal, and Snapchat foodie shot everyone wants to get when the presentation is on point. Definitely, making a trip back to Sushi Zen because it’s worth my money, the food is great, and the staff is nice too. I recommend everyone giving it a try if you’re looking for affordable sushi and have a big appetite for it.

First time here and I think this is the best japanese buffet I have ever tired in DFW area. Unlike most of other buffet placing all the food on the table, Zen Sushi makes your food when you order so it’s fresh. Their sushi quality is excellent. I like their salmon sushi a lot it’s so fresh ! Their shrimp tempura is awesome. Service is great and it’s only 14.95 for a lunch buffet! Will definitely come back pretty soon.

Last visit we came in for all you eat. We did not even get half of our food delivered and they completely ignored us until we got up and said something to them. They would not accommodate us with the bill at all so I ended up calling my credit card company about the issue.

Came here for their AYCE. Their lunch menu for it changed recently. They took out the additional +$ 3, which you can order a special roll and sashimi, and also took out a couple of other rolls that I was looking forward for. So now you would have to pay«additional half price of a special roll and sashimi». According to the server, they were losing money from their original offer, which I understand. My group ordered quite a few, consist of rolls and nigiri. The rolls was big, but mainly filled with fake crab meat and not enough fish. The nigiri was good. Good amount of fish and rice, but I feel like the rice was a little too dry. Our server was nice and helpful. But it’s hard to get her attention some times, because she was the only host/server when we were there, including the bus boy. Overall, the place is not too bad.

This review is for the AYCE lunch special they offer 7 days a week from 11am-2pm. I came in a little over 1pm and the place isn’t too busy. I think the lunch rush is just about finish because people have started leaving a few minutes after I sat down in the bar area. All I ordered was nigiri. I really think it was a bang for your buck to get a good quality nigiri with great ratio of fish and rice. Also this is made to order sushi, not just sushi sitting on a cold plate just like other AYCE places. This lunch was really a treat for me after driving around the metroplex running errands and for craving nigiri for a very long time now. I will definitely be back whenever I can to do more damage during lunch hour. :-)

Stumbled upon this sushi joint with a couple of my friends after going to the Nail Salon across the street. The restaurant had the typical sushi joint interior decoration along with a laid-back vibe. The waitress was really nice and provided great service. She just started working there so could not provide us with any personal recommendations on which item to order from the menu. I ordered a miso soup, tuna tataki, and the maui sushi roll. The miso soup was medicore and was pretty cold once it was brought out to our table. The tuna tataki was a huge disappointment. The restaurant doesnt even offer the beef tataki option on the menu, which lead to my decision to choosing the tuna taktaki. The maui roll was huge and I was just not a big fan of it overall. Overall: I would not recommend coming here for sushi at all. There’s so many other sushi restaurants within a one mile radius that I would rather go to such as SUSHISAKE.

They weren’t crowded even though they are located in a little multi-use area that seemed quite busy. The sushi was quite good and service(since they weren’t crowded) was quick and attentive. The rolls were big and fresh. The menu is varied and for those who really like sushi, they have an all you can eat lunch deal for $ 13 and dinner for $ 25.

Came here for lunch with a friend since this other location was closing at 2:30. And it was around 1:45. So we decided to just eat here since we were one the plaza. My friend decided to eat the all you can eat while I ordered something from the menu. She ordered some rolls and miso soup. I decided on a bento box that came with side salad and miso soup. I wish the salad came with a sesame dressing, bc their dressing was a little heavy. When I think side salad I think of light. And the waiter forgot about my miso soup, so I had to ask him — he was very nice about it and apologetic. I love their miso soup! I order the bulgogi bento that came with fried rice(+$ 1.00) worth it! Some tempura veggie and 4 piece California roll. Everything was so delicious! And their service was great for us. I was afraid they would rush us bc they did close at 2:30. I did feel bad though! Since time slipped and it was 3:00 when we left! But they didn’t rush is at all! Thank you! –1 star bc they didn’t let my friend take home the left over. She just didn’t want to waste it! I’m sure they would just toss it!

If you have a taste palate for sushi you won’t go here. Although the all you can eat seems like a good deal it’s not. My friends and I all went here for the all you can eat sushi deal for dinner and we shouldn’t have. Our first sign should have been that the place was empty but we decided to try it anyways. Our sushi was so old and salty, everyone agreed that it was horrible. The tuna wasn’t even a deep pink and all the fish was just so dry. The nigiri wasn’t even assembled correctly and kept falling off the rice which was also salty and dry and not sticky. Not only that but our wait staff was horrible, no one was in the restaurant but 2 people and we still couldn’t even get our checks to come. I had to ask for them and even after that it still took another 15 minutes. Seriously, don’t waste your time here, this was one of the worst places that I have ever been to.

After hearing about the $ 15AYCE lunch special I knew I had to venture to Sushi Zen to try it out and man oh man will I be back. I feel like Dallas has been missing a great AYCE sushi place where rolls and sushi are made to order and not sitting out(it’s hard to find a place that lives up to Sushi Junai’s level in Austin). Sushi Zen has filled that need and for a very reasonable price. For $ 15 you get to order three rounds of food. The AYCE menu includes normal stuff like tempura, fried calamari, egg rolls, fried rice, rolls and NIGIRI. When I say nigiri I’m not talking like just tiny pieces of fish with lots of rice, I’m talking a good ratio of fresh fish to delicious sushi rice. They have a good variety of nigiri to choose, from classics like salmon, tuna, tamago, yellowtail, eel to even scallop and ESCOLAR(white tuna). I’m a huge fan of any place that’ll let me eat all the escolar I can. The reason I took off one star was because we had to wait about 30 minutes to get our first round of food, by the time the food had come I was hungry and mad BUT, the food made up for it. Dare I saw the sushi was worth the wait? It was! After my first few pieces of nigiri the angry hunger I had been feeling slowly started dissipating into plain happiness as I floated to sushi happiness. For our second round we ordered some mixed tempura and fried calamari, both were delicious but filled us up as we had trouble finishing the nigiri we had ordered. Sadly we were unable to everything we had ordered and accepted our fate that we had to pay for the 5 nigiri left, but the waiter was nice and didn’t charge us for it since we had waited so long for our food(apparently they ran out of sushi rice earlier and that’s why orders were taking so long). Service is good, the workers were attentive and my water glass was always filled. Comparing this place to Sake 2 Me, I honestly prefer Sushi Zen for AYCE, their $ 15 lunch price extremely reasonable, and I would even come back for the $ 25AYCE dinner price. tl;dr: Best AYCE sushi place in DFW, decent service, great nigiri, great lunch price!
