David’s Bridal

I hate to jump on the negative train, but this place is awful. Mind you, I spent ten years working retail and I have respect for the work that people do in customer service. I understand and empathize to your work environment. But there is no excuse for how terrible the service was.
I arrived to simply try on a bridesmaids dress so I could confirm size and order it. I didn’t realize it was imperative for me to make an appointment, so understandably the woman at the front desk was not too thrilled with me when I was a walk in. She proceeded to tell me that someone would be able to help me. I appreciate her flexibility.
An associate came to meet me, I showed her the picture of the dress that I needed with the style number and told her my size. She disappeared looking for it. I waited and she came back not sure if what she found was the right dress … once I saw it I confirmed it was correct. She grabbed two sizes for me and brought me to a fitting room. She put me in a room and … I never saw her again! Honestly, I was so sick of waiting for her to come back that I had to go back and get another size myself.
Once I found the size that worked, I got dressed and headed to the front to order my dress. The sales associate reappeared and decided then tell me that we might not be able to order the dress that I need in navy. She decides to mention that now?!! She went to speak with the manager … I followed along and proceeded to listen to this associate get lectured by her manager. The manager was so incredibly rude and treated this girl with such distain, it was so uncomfortable to watch!!!
The manager was typing on the computer and told the associate that she needed to complete my measurements before she would order anything! It’s a bridesmaids dress, are you kidding right now?! At this point, I am convinced I would have been better off just ordering it online. I was confident in the size I tried on and felt really good about ordering that size. The associate did the measurements and wrote them on the sheet, the manager then tells her that I am ordering the wrong size, completely ignoring the fact that I am standing right there! I tell her that I would like the room. Well, the manager continued by sternly instructing me how the dress is final sale. I acknowledge her, I am well aware of how final sale works. She continued … «If you lose weight, gain weight, we will not take the dress back … no returns or exchanges.» Ya, I got it.
I will never recommend David’s Bridal, ever. The thought of going back to this place makes me cringe. Everyone there was so unpleasant. I get it, sometimes in retail you have tougher days and things can get a little hairy … but get it together. Trust me, had the bride not picked out her dress here I would have strongly suggested we go some place else! Just don’t bother, there are so many better places to find wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses for reasonable prices where you don’t have to put up with this!

When looking for my dress, I had a great experience. Our assistant, Deb, was great. Very patient and helpful. Shawnda helped us check out and is she a hoot! Very helpful and efficient. Helped us with financing and providing other useful information for our wedding. Just had to give her a big hug when we left — very enthusiastic and fun person.
Then went in for my fitting, and my opinion went downhill:
³⁄₂₈ — Went in for my fitting, and what a disappointment! To begin with, my consultant, Deb, who helped find my dress, specifically told me they do not sell bras only to find out during my fitting that they DO INDEED sell bras. I guess Deb just couldn’t be bothered, so basically lied to me, forcing me to have to go to several stores trying to find the type of bra I wanted (a bustier). Finally found one at a different bridal shop. I now wish I would have done all my shopping at the other shop instead of David’s.
The gal who was helping with my fitting didn’t know what she was doing! At the point where she said my dress fit fine (even though it needed to be taken in at least an inch around my waist), I was so frustrated and angry that if I had the time and my sale wasn’t final, I would have walked right out of that shop and purchased a different dress elsewhere. After more than an hour or longer of frustration, she finally called the manager over who actually helped to fit my dress.
Then, instead of selling me a «new, in the package slip», they sold me a slip that other people had used while trying on gowns. WHAT? I was so frustrated after several hours trying to get my dress properly fit, that I did take the slip with me, but I am returning it when I pick up my dress and insisting on a new, in the package slip. Why would I want to purchase a slip that multiple people have worn while trying on dresses. It’s a used piece of clothing, and I was not even offered a discount on the used garment. People get sweaty while trying on multiple dresses — I don’t want to wear an article of clothing with someone else’s sweat on it. To add insult to injury, I was quoted a price of $ 280 for alterations, and was charged $ 350! I will also be debating this with them when I pick up my dress. What started out as a good experience with this store sure turned into a nightmare during my fitting.
Unfortunately I’ve had to reduce my rating for this store from four stars to one star.
April — it just gets worse and worse. Went in for my fitting after alterations, and the dress still didn’t fit correctly. The bodice was NOT taken in at all — their response, «oh, you must have lost weight». NOT. So had to wait for another week and go back again. This time they almost got the alterations right, but the bodice still did not fit correctly, and the bra they were supposed to alter still had the pins in it which of course stabbed me and I got blood on my dress! Note — my dress was supposed to be ready for pick up! Checked the hem — still dirty — they didn’t clean it like they said they would.
Then, asked for my Maid of Honor’s dress which only needed steaming. They hadn’t touched it.
I did take my dress home — dirty and ill-​fitting. I’m getting married in five days — have no more time to wait for these people to do it right!
Had to wait for them to finish the alterations and steam the Maid of Honor’s dress — all things which should have been completed and ready for me to pick up.
The dirty slip they tried to sell me — they never did get any new clean slips in stock, so had to spend more time going to another bridal shop that had clean, unused slips.
My advice — go elsewhere!!!

I wish I could give zero stars. Our group arrived to our bridesmaid fitting appointment at 6:30 with Paige, who was abysmal. When we found our dresses, we needed two additional that weren’t available in stores. Paige left to call other stores for the additional dresses and about 20 – 30 minutes later we had to actually go FIND her to see what the calls resulted in. We found her having a personal conversation with another associate and only acknowledged us when we stood in front of her until she was done with her call.
When we asked her what was available, she was very short with us and said a local store had both sizes, then walked away and started helping another group of customers. She never acknowledged us again.
We finally approached another associate, who was dressed professionally and not in a stained, frayed tshirt and yoga leggings (yes, she was wearing stained clothing), who gladly gave us the service we hadn’t yet received and was very helpful. I think her name was Laura.
Unfortunately, the only way I’ll be coming back to this location for my own wedding is if I can ensure in advance my group and I will be getting the full attention of a seasoned associate.
Paige– find another occupation for the sake of brides and bridal parties everywhere.

I went for my first dress try on since getting engaged and I was made to feel like a bother! The woman who was paired as my bridal expert hardly paid any attention to me or my bridesmaids, and then she would sneak away to help 3 other groups? I felt no excitement in dress shopping and left feeling discouraged and extremely upset! Do not go unless you have a very detailed plans in what you are looking for, as in you already have it picked out and need to just see it in person.
Will not recommend.

A total waste of my time. I made an appointment days in advance and showed up on time. The receptionist is very nice and attentive, but everyone else that was supposed to help me could not give me the time of day. I was made to feel like I was in the way and lucky someone even set aside a dressing room for me, never mind that they didn’t tell me which one I was supposed to be in. I understand the value of large groups to their business, but why even allow individual appointments if you can’t fit them in?
No one even approached me until 10 minutes into my scheduled appointment time. My oh-​so-​brief exchange with one of the sales stylist was cold, discouraging, and nearly rude. I would’ve been better off having never even spoken with her — she contributed nothing of value and acted as if I shouldn’t bother with the dresses I was actually interested in. After our brief exchange she disappeared, and I had to hunt her down just to figure out what dressing room I was supposed to be in. I was then told to «get started» in the dressing room and someone would be right over. I tried on my three dresses (I was told to only pick out three) without anyone even noticing or talking to me. I changed back into my normal clothes, walked out of the dressing room (again nobody noticing) and proceeded to leave.
I did stop by the receptionist and told her that I couldn’t find anyone who was supposed to be helping me, but if they were looking for me, to please let them know I left. I have honestly never been treated so poorly, even at places that don’t require me to make an appointment in advance. I immediately went home and ordered a few dresses to try on from Weddington Way (better options anyway).
Maybe if you have an appointment with your entire bridal party they’ll give you the time of day and it would be worthwhile. I hope this is just location-​specific and that the company as a whole does not breed this kind of poor customer service.

Recently my Fiancé and her wedding party set up an appointment at Davids Bridal to go try on dresses for our wedding. Within 20minutes of being there my fiancé called me in tears. Given the circumstances I wanted to take the time to tell you about her recent experience so that it hopefully NEVER again happens to another bride to be.
My fiancé set up an appointment with the Davids Bridal at 840 W 78^th St, Richfield, MN 55 423. Upon her arrival their arrival they were exiled and filled with joy. Her grandmother was there for support and also because she is older and she wanted see her granddaughter in a wedding dress, God forbid she passes away before the wedding. They arrived right at 4pm and were not even greeted upon entry. It took them about 5 – 10 minutes to find anyone willing to help them as employee after employee completely ignored them. Once a half willing employee was found they informed the employee they had set up an appointment to try on wedding dresses. The employee said «well she can just look for dresses herself» and walked away. Her grandmother who is elderly, asked for a chair to sit down and once again the employee said «then go find one» and continued to walk away. After a few minutes of searching for a dress they realized they did not even know where to start and again they searched for an employee. This time another employee told her that they just have to «figure it out for themselves because they are short staffed.» My future mother in-​law again asked for a chair for her grandmother and was completely blown off as the employee rolled her eyes as if asking for a chair was just not important enough.
At this time my fiancé went into a changing room and called me crying. She did not understand why these people were being so rude and disrespectful as this day was supposed to be filled with joy and love. I did my best to console her but I could tell she just could not hold back the tears any longer. Being the strong woman she is she picked herself up and attempted to look for dresses to try on. Unfortunately being unfamiliar with the store and having no help aside from her wedding party proved to be too much and they left with tears running down their faces.
I am shocked and appalled at how davids bridal took one of my fiancés most memorial days and turned it into an event she wishes she could forget. I pray that my grandmother is able to see my bride to be in her wedding dress and that she does not pass away with this final memory. I can not comprehend why Davids Bridal would employ such disrespectful staff and why they even take appointments when clearly they are not even concerned with helping anyone but themselves.
I will post this story on every message board and wedding website until I hear a response from Davids Bridal. I am doing this not out of spite… instead I am writing this so others do not have to wipe away tears and console their loved ones. In writing this I also hope that others may understand that Davids Bridal is NOT somewhere to make fond memories but instead a place where self indulging employees are more concerned with looking at their phones and talking with each other then helping women find a dress to be married in.

Plan ahead and avoid this place at all costs. Eagerly anticipating a fun evening of trying on dresses, was halted to a complete stop when my assigned «consultant», showed up reeking of Pot, eyes half closed, hair unbrushed and actual dirt on her clothes. She also thought it would be good customer service to Not-​open-​her-​mouth when she spoke and to drift off into LaLa land and not answer any questions without us asking at least 3 times. This is supposed to be a fun memorable experience, but she ruined it by being physically and mentally unprepared. Do what you want on your own time, but please do not have the audacity to ask me to give you a good review and commission when you’re high, dirty and rude. Nonetheless I found a pretty dress. When I reluctantly went back to look at undergarments, I was paired up again, with someone who had no advice or input from experience and actually stared at me with a wide gaping mouth as I asked her questions. Wow. The only people who seemed to be somewhat normal were the managers and hosts. Do yourself a favor and get annihilated or high before coming here, ’cause that’s apparently what their employees do. Better yet. Save up and go somewhere else, or wear a white trash bag, because I have no doubt, the sales person helping you pick those out at the convenience store, afforded you a better experience than this place could ever dream of. Only giving then one star because I’m forced to. too bad there aren’t negative ratings.

You know… I read the reviews of this store and this company and I was scared to go. I almost canceled my appointment, but it was part of our lunch stop. I am happy that I did not cancel my appointment. I am a plus size tall (6’1) bride. Dresses will likely be very expensive. The first dress I ordered was not a good fit. I didn’t like it. Because I’m plus size and tall the dress had to be custom made, so it would be several months before I received my gown. I called David’s Bridal and the manager went above and beyond to reverse the order so I can select another dress. I love my new dress and cannot wait to wear it. I also purchased my bridesmaid dresses from there. Most of my girls are coming from out of town and we needed to find a national chain so we could try on dresses. We located a few dresses that we loved but we had issues with the color of the dress arriving in time. Even though we had this issue, Laura (sales associate) helped me to locate dresses in the color I wanted and the sizes of my bridesmaids that were quick order. While I didn’t like the options and chose to change the color, I was impressed and so happy that she helped us to locate something that could work. I truly appreciated that they associates went ABOVE and BEYOND to help me find something that works. I don’t know what other stores are like, but I like this store.
The only thing that is a loss is that all the locations took away their platform for trying on dresses. This is a giant mistake. It was fun to stand on the stages and puffs at all the bridal stores to see the bottom of the dress. They took something special away.

I have been here several times and have had a really good experience overall. Suzette, in alterations, was a rock star, staying late to finish her appointment with me because it took so long and I wanted so much altered. I found several here dresses that I liked, and was happy to settle on a Vera Wang gown that is stunning. The several people who helped me throughout the process were very nice, but I would say that the bride-​to-​be should be open to picking it dresses and not leaving it up to you attendant, who really might not have that much experience (a lot of people there seemed like new-​hires). I would definitely recommend DB.

Bought my dress from the Maple Grove location (go there!), but was driving by this location this past weekend and stopped in with my flower girl to have her try on some dresses. First thing I didn’t like were the kids running around the racks of dresses as we’re trying to pull some. Second, the girl who was supposed to be helping barely said a word as we tried them on. Lastly, I went up the the register to order the dress I wanted, but in ivory. The cashier didn’t ask any questions, nor notice that a button was missing on the dress and just rang it up. As I went to swipe my card I realized I hadn’t told her about the missing button or that I wanted to order the same dress in a different color, so I told her… her response? «o this dress is clearance so all sales are final». Luckily, a woman I assume was a manager was standing next to her and said they could refund me since it had literally just been scanned. I admit I should’ve been more on top of it and asked right away about ordering it in ivory. Overall the service was just bad. As I mentioned above, go to the Maple Grove location, they were wonderful.

My experience here was absolutely horrible. The lady who helped me was very nice, but the dresses she had me try on were just awful. I showed her pictures the type of dress I wanted – A line, sweetheart neckline, flowy but not poofy, vintage. She brought me the most godawful dresses to try on and after trying on 4 dresses (she was helping other people at the same time) and spending 1 ½ hours there I was done. At the end of the appt she was like «now I know more what you want». Lady, I told you what I wanted from the beginning! I’m going to order the dress I love from etsy.

I went in on friday to try on my bridal dress and thank goodness I made an appt and came in early so my consultant paid very good attention to me and the store manager was cool and came to make sure we were doing good which is awesome. And then more people came in the evening and it got really busy. It was really crowded and you have to wait to be change. Other than that the consultant was great and experienced and socialized. I called back to speak to the customer service on the weekend and the lady didnt understand my question and I had to repeat it and she did not know half of the information about the dress that I want or anything that I asked. Honestly how did you get that job then? Its common sense that if you dont know then you would ask other staff that have more experience than you. Anyways other than that the consultant and manager are awesome!

I don’t have a sugar daddy of a husband so I decided to give David’s Bridal a chance, after booking the venue and food I was left with mere ‘pennies’ to spend on the rest of the wedding. I did checked out the dresses online and some looked close to the ones I’ve tried on at dress boutiques but that’s about all that was good.
I called to make an appointment but when I arrived, my name wasn’t found. Thank goodness it was weekday at around 6pm so they weren’t busy and was about to find me someone. One consultant walked by and refused to take me b/​c she was going on her break shortly and so they asked if I was ok switching consultant. I was fine w/​it since this place isn’t exactly known for service. After 15 – 20 minutes of waiting, browsing around, all in the whilst finding consultants standing around chit chatting, I was assigned a ‘permanent’ consultant.
The consultant was good but there wasn’t a lot of dresses my size so it had to be ordered in (well duh! I wasn’t short on time so don’t have to buy off the rack) and that it needed to be clipped (duh! once again b/​c how many people do you get that fits these dresses?). So the store doesn’t have a fancy pedestal like other salons but the consultant brought out shoes to try on with the dresses, which I think is almost better than those pretty step b/​c it’s more realistic. 1 point for DB.
Now on to the important part, the dresses. Ok, so I’m not trying to be high maintenance but there is a HUGE difference in terms of quality between the dresses at DB and other boutiques I’ve been to. I don’t expect a $ 600 dress to be the same as the $ 2,500 dress but the boning/​lining, material, design, flow, shape, everything that makes the dress stand out just isn’t there! The fabric is so coarse. The lace, tulle, organza, or satin isn’t soft at all. For example a mermaid w/​tulle bottom has full tulle (or at least 5 good layers of soft tulle) at boutique, where as DB will have 1 layer for looks and then lining/​fillers on bottom. I started to rash out on the inner arms and neck area. That was it for me. No need to try on more dresses.
I complete understand the budget conscious bride, I am one of those, but if that’s the case I’d rather buy a pre-​owned wedding dress knowing the details & quality is there.

I would have given 5 stars based on my initial appointment and alterations appointment. But, when I went in last night to pick up my dress — it was a complete awful experience.
I scheduled an appointment to try a few dresses I knew I wanted to try on. I was told by the receptionist to go online and add some dresses to my favorites, so the consultant can have an idea of what style I like. My consultant did not even bother to look at my favorites — I don’t know if this is their standard process or if my consultant just didn’t even bother. Thankfully I saved them on my phone. Picking out the dress went smooth — the ringing of the bell and making a wish is so cheesy.
Came back a week later for an alterations appointment, Jadie is a doll. Super sweet, pleasant, and all around very nice to work with. I spent an hour with her for my alterations and I can’t say anything but good things.
I went in last night to try on and pick up my altered dress. I was taken back and the woman brought my dress out to me. She asked if I wanted to try it on – should this have even been a question? I told her Yes, I would like to. I believe that set her off.
She took me to a room and in the most annoyed voice said «Let me know if you need help with your zipper». Yeeaahhhh, if I could have I would have done it myself, who wants help from someone with that type of attitude? Went out and got on the platform and this woman kept huffing, puffing & sighing. Wow — did I really inconvenience you that much to try on my dress before I left this store? When she talked the tone in her voice made the whole dress fitting experience sour. She put up my bustle without even showing me, but at this point I just wanted to leave with my dress so I’ll figure it out on my own at home. I go back into the dressing room, removed my dress and I am in the process of putting my bra on – THE RECEPTIONIST OPENS THE DOOR!!! NO KNOCK!!! Is this how David’s Bridal functions?!! Yes, she shut the door and apologized, but REALLY? NO KNOCK WHATSOEVER? Based solely on my last visit — I will never shop at this place ever again nor make any recommendations to here. If you can, I’d go elsewhere.

My experience at David’s was horrible. I’m just a bridesmaid. Not much to screw up, you’d think.
The wedding is in Washington and despite telling the associates that, they said oh yes your dress will go to the store the bride requests. I thought nothing of it until the bride told me to check just to make sure. Just to make sure…
I call and am told that they don’t do that and the dress has to be sent to the store I purchased the order from. Problem being the dress was to arrive the day before the wedding. I then proceed to talk to different managers for a few weeks who falsely made me believe they’d be able to get it shipped quicker so they could send it to Washington.
I never heard anything back despite being told I’d be updated so I called one last time. This time I was told they wouldn’t be able to get it in sooner for sure. Basically this forced me into getting a dress they had at the store, not even the one i purchased because they can’t refund. It kind of ruined the bride’s plan to make a lovely ombré pattern because it’s not the color she wanted and it’s not one of the dress styles she wanted.
You can’t give a refund even though it’s your fault that I’m not getting the dress that I PAID FOR? Yeah. I told them it was in Washington and it needed to go to Washington. They should have told me to call and order it there but they didn’t. I wish I had my money. I really wish I did.

I really, REALLY wish I would have read these reviews before I made an appointment here. I wanted to try on bridal gowns at this David’s location because I really had my heart set on trying out the White by Vera Wang line, so I made an appointment here with my MOH and mom. When we arrived, I was told that our consultant would be helping out another group simultaneously, but we were reassured that she would be very available to us.
The consultant started by giving me a tour of the salon and brought me to my changing room. The room is a bit smaller than your standard bathroom stall and reminded me of the fitting rooms at a department store — just a lot of small rooms in a row with chairs for spectators. I was crammed in right next to several other girls trying on dresses with their parties of two or more, so the entire evening we were being asked to move out of the way so that other people could take pictures or get through. Not a super «bridal» experience if you ask me. The consultant brought over two dresses right off the bat without really asking me what I was looking for. They were horrifically off base and looked awful on me, so I gave some direction for what I wanted to try on, and she disappeared. A few minutes later she hasn’t resurfaced, so my MOH went rogue and went into the salon on a mission to grab the dresses that she knew I wanted to try on. This was the theme throughout the appointment. The consultant would appear every 15 minutes or so asking if we were okay, and we were thanks to my very self-​sufficient MOH who was comfortable grabbing stuff off the salon floor. Without her, we would have been stuck waiting for the consultant and wouldn’t have been able to try on half as many dresses. The consultant wasn’t able to answer many of my questions about gown availability and other questions that I had. They were pretty basic and along the lines of which dresses came in petite sizes, and the capabilities of the alterations department. I expect the consultant to be able to handle what I’m asking since it’s her job to know what she’s talking about.
Overall I was really disappointed. This was not a bridal experience to me. I was crammed in a glorified hallway with many other people, I had virtually no privacy, and no expert to guide me on my journey of trying gowns on. It just wasn’t that special moment that you envision when you’re trying on wedding dresses for the first time. Not only did I not get the level of service I was looking for, I didn’t get ANY level of service at all. I would recommend if you’re going to a David’s, don’t go to this one. Or, be sure that you specify that your consultant needs to be dedicated to YOU during your appointment, or there is a good chance you’ll be vying for her attention with at least one other person.
I didn’t realize that this was NOT acceptable until I went to a smaller boutique two days later. David’s has a pretty low level of professionalism and their process needs serious work.
I’m giving two stars for the dresses themselves — David’s has a broad range of prices and styles.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE’S RELATIONSHIP WITH MARY KAY!!!
In the two+ years it has been since my husband and I got married, I had somehow managed (more or less) to suppress my awful David’s Bridal experience. Well yesterday that changed when I saw one of their commercials.
I did not buy my wedding gown here (thank god! check out Andrea’s Bridal in Uptown!), but did order all my bridesmaid dresses at DB, as well as the tuxes from DB’s sister store, Men’s Warehouse. The reason? They had fairly inexpesive and cute dresses for my ladies. Overall, my shopping and ordering experience was what I expected – uninspired, underpaid employees rotating brides-​to-​be into crummy dressing rooms under the eery flicker of fluorescent lighting, in order to try on mass-​produced dresses of poor quality.
What I did not expect was that I would receive several harassing phone calls in the weeks following my shopping experience. At first I ignored and hung up on them, but the calls kept coming. Finally, irritated as he**, I answered the phone. DB’s was calling to tell me I had won a spa day with my girls. I didn’t believe it and told them I wasn’t interested. A few days later, they called back again to tell me the same stuff. I don’t know if they caught me in an off moment or what, but the woman on the phone convinced me that the spa day would be a real treat and that yes, I had truly won this great experience. As all brides know, I had absolutely no time for anything other than wedding planning at that time, so fitting in a spa day seemed near impossible. We did, though, manage to find a morning that worked, and I was told to bring 2 — 3 girlfirends to a location in Eagan.
The morning of the spa treatment, I received a call early in the morning from a DB’s rep saying telling me that the place I was meeting our spa person was in the event space of a Davanni’s Pizza. WTF?! Who does mani-​pedis in a freaking pizza joint at 9 in the morning? Weirded out, I considered not going. Then I got another call, saying that our spa person couldn’t make it and that I would need to go to an address in Brooklyn Center. Really confused and suspicious, yet curious, my bridemaids and I grabbed some coffee and figured we’d make the best of it. After circling a residential neighborhood in BP, we finally found the house. Yes, a house! We almost didn’t get out of the car (just another misstep on my behalf).
Upon knocking on the door, we were greeted by an older woman with a thick Russian accent. She invited us into her house, which not only was caught in an 80s time warp, but her house reeked! Passing by the plastic-​topped grey/​purple/​peach furniture, and the kitchen, where her husband was yelling at her in Russian; we were brought down to her damp and equally smelly basement, and into a room that probably used to be a laundry room. There, we were invited to gather round a card table, and our «spa» began.
Was it a spa? Of course not! As we found out in about half a second, this was a
Mary Kay sales demo. Over the course of the next hour-​and-​a-​half, this woman «treated» us to manis and pedis, which were little more than half-​used, sample-​size bottles of cheap, smelly lotion being rubbed onto our hands and feet. The pedi was the worst though, as it involved her going to her laundry tub and running wash cloths under lukewarm water, then wrapping them around our feet and covering the cloths with a plastic bag. Throughout this wretched experience, we were regalled with stories of her Mary Kay successes and not only heavily pressured to buy her crappy products (we did not), but to become Mary Kay reps ourselves (we definitely did not). We also had our makeup done. Strangely, though, she only did half our faces in order to show how improved we would look with Mary Kay products on our faces. Needless to say, we all looked hideous. To make matters worse, the half that was done up was (not surprisingly) very 80s. Ugh!
As time wore on, I could not decide if I wanted to laugh or cry. I was furious for having been conned into this bogus spa treatment at some nasty house when I could have been doing a million other things. Plus, she had not only wasted my time, but that of my closest girlfriends. I also was fighting the urge to burst out laughing at how completely ridiculous and unbelievable the situation was. We did eventually manage to escape, thank god, but to this day, my blood still boils when I think of what a bunch of scam artists they are at DB and how dumb I was to fall for it.
Certainly this place serves a purpose. If you’re looking for relatively inexpensive, big-​box style wedding dresses or bridal wear, then DB is a fine place to shop. However, please beware of any giveaways you are offered. I would hate for anyone else to have to go through what I did on that rainy day in Brooklyn Park.

I’m bummed to see so many bad reviews on here as I had a great experience both times I went to a David’s Bridal. I bought my dress at the David’s Bridal in Roseville, and when it came in (much sooner than they had estimated, which was great), I stopped in to pick it up. While I was there, I made the deadly mistake no bride should EVER make– I looked at more dresses. And found one that I LOVED. Stupid.
So after 2 days of torturing myself, I decided I needed to go try it on or I would regret it. So I dragged a friend with me after work to the Edina store. I embarrassingly explained why I was there, and they just smiled and were happy to help. I tried on the dress I had already purchased and the new one. I felt like I had my mom there– they talked me off the ledge without making me feel stupid, and in the end I stuck with my original dress. They had said since it was so recently that I picked my dress up, that if I changed my kind they would be happy to exchange it. Awesome for a bridal shop!
So you may ask why I didn’t give them 5 stars? I would love to, but I do admit (not just this store, every David’s Bridal I’ve been to) could use some updating. The carpet, mirrors, and décor in general is old looking and somewhat off-​putting. Lighting in general there is not the best. Their service for me is 5+ stars, just wish the atmosphere was more inviting.

This was the first wedding dress shop I went to and I had a good experience here. I didn’t realize how professional they were until I visited some other stores later on. My consultant, Mary, spent 2 hours with me and did a great job helping me find the perfect dress and bridesmaid’s dress/​accessories. Almost every gown she picked out for me was flattering. When I came back to make sure the dress was «the one», I felt like the new consultants were pressuring me into buying a more expensive dress than the one I came for. It is also very busy here on the weekends; I waited at least 30 minutes to check out when I bought some accessories there last Saturday.
Minus one more star because David’s does not guarantee that the dress you order will be in good condition (i.e. it may come damaged). Dresses are not always ordered new, you may get one off the rack from another David’s bridal at full price. I received a damaged and stained dress, but I was able to exchange it for one off the rack with less damage just by pure luck. Though the second dress was still slightly damaged and very wrinkled, the alterations department offered to repair and press it for free IF I do my alterations with them.

This place is NASTY.
I never heard anything about this place, so I figured I would give it a shot. My mom made the appointment for me over the phone, and the woman she talked to mentioned to go online and write down style numbers of dresses that I liked, making the process easier/​faster when we came in for our appointment. I thought that was fair, so that’s what I did.
Entering the place, I was immediately disgusted by the smell. It is a straight-​up factory. I had to fill out this huge questionnaire, which was not fun. I gave it to the girl helping us and first thing out her mouth was «Wow, you’re getting married in 4 months? I don’t really think we’ll have anything for you… wow…you like, waited a long time to do this, huh?» EXCUSE ME? Moving on…
My mom pulled out the list we made the night before, and that was the last we saw of it. The chick did NOTHING with it. She actually gave us a weird look when we asked if she could pull the dresses from the list so we didn’t have to walk around and look through all the racks. So yeah… we ended up going through all the racks.
I looked at the dresses and kept giving my mom the death stare, hoping she’d get my drift and let us leave. I had no idea chiffon felt like toilet paper? Well it doesn’t, and it shouldn’t. But it did at David’s Bridal.
My mom wanted to see at least 1 on me, so I gave in and picked out a dress that even an 8-​year old would say «hell no» to.
While I was «trying on the dress», I was googling other shops around MPLS that we could escape to. Luckily, Priscilla of Boston came up in that list. See my review for it… (hint: it’s the opposite of this one).
In general, this place has foul people, foul odors, and all around foul dresses. I wouldn’t tell my worst enemy to come here.
