Beer selection is limited to like 4 domestic macrobrews, so don’t come here expecting a local microbrew. The food is comparable in quality to what you ‘d get at like a Culvers, so basically highish-end fast food. I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you enjoy the divey atmosphere.

Great little place. Good food. Love the fact that it was once a speakeasy, and you still enter thru the back door!

Quaint lil dive bar. The food is good, waitstaff a little off but either way had good beer and I really enjoyed my burger.

Disgusting. Piss-water draft beer and gross food. Too bad because it’s a local mom and pop and it’s cozy. But don’t bother. I wish somebody would buy this place and make it good.

Anyone who has ever gotten socks for Christmas can identify with this. I had been looking forward to coming here for weeks, yes weeks… and was utterly let down. so this is how it began. My sister is obsessed with green olives. Olives on everything, in everything, you may catch her just drinking straight olive juice… Yea… Gross right? Anyway, I was leaving the gym and got a Unilocal notification about a green olive burger…, yes please? So I immediately phoned my sister and filled her in on this unicorn burger made especially for her… We set a date that worked and the Oliver burger was my screen saver for 2 weeks. Finally the day comes to go to this little burger dive and… WHAM! Socks for Christmas. We walked in and sat down and sat for about 25 minutes before deciding maybe we have to order at the counter? Odd bc it’s a bar, there’s no waitstaff? So she starts walking up to the bar and the bartender that was chatting with a patron, looks at her… Walking straight at him… He looks at me and decides to walk To our table and acknowledge us… So he ignored her in his oh shoot moment., and came to take our order. We ordered drinks and food. Olive burgers, fried mushrooms and tater tots. Ok… It’s on, I’m hungry and I’m feeling good again… Getting a green Oliver burger… Can’t hardly stand it… and WHAM! More socks. My burger had almost an entire tub of cream cheese on it. It was disgusting. I scraped it off bc it was literally like an entire cup or cream cheese and I’m not big on cream cheese, which in turn scraped off my olives. What i was left with was a greasy soggy burger with nothing on it except the ketchup that was at the table. So ok, I’m over the burger… That was a fail… But the mushrooms are still here! Mushrooms were amazing! I think I ate them all. Tots… Nope. Also a fail. I like when my tots are potato particles mashed into a cylinder shape and baked or lightly fried. These didn’t have texture? It was weird. If you scooped mashed potatoes in a Mellon baller, and dropped the Mellon ball potatoes into the deep fryer, that would be the tots here. I wouldn’t call them tots. I’d call them deep fried mashed potato balls. It’s more accurate to what you get. Fail there too. So my dinner was a cider beer and half the mushroom order me and my sister split. Not exactly my splurge meal I had planned for 2 weeks. Also, this is beer and wine only. Not a full bar. I was little confused on that. Some place say they have a full bar and some say beer and wine or they updated it?

We were looking for a good lunch spot in the Richfield area. Non-chain restaurants and pubs are our typical choice. This is a very local feeling pub that is cash only and proud of their burgers. Three of us had the burger and one had the fish sandwich. The burgers were thin, tavern style burgers that were tasty but maybe a little greasy. The fish was also good but could have used less breading. All in all, a good lunch spot but just average.

The star of Richfield. You will not find a better burger, staff, or trivia in all of town. The staff, incredibly friendly and personable in genuine way. You’ll quickly learn them all by name and celibrate there individual quirks. The burger, olive burger or sizzler would be my recommendation. But don’t be a dolt and ask for silverware. They don’t have it and you don’t need it. Trivia, they write there own and take pride in it. Nothing dull about it. Funniest, funnest, I have been to. Tip check Facebook and website for clues before hand. One more thing, seat yourself, and don’t ask about happy hour.

Sandy’s smells like your grandmother’s basement but the green olive burger nearly brought a tear to my eye. It’s THAT good. Best burger in the twin cities, easily! Probably the only joint I’ll miss when we move out of Richfield next month. Guess we have a reason to come back and visit. mmmm… olives :) Service is fast/friendly too! Bonus!

If you are looking for no B.S. Good old fashioned burgers, then you can’t beat Sandy’s. Very quaint bar/restaurant with a sports vibe. Burgers are no frills just fantastic. Great toasted bun. Great side of pickles. My grandfather would have loved Sandy’s. Enjoy

I don’t know how this place has four stars. The burger was not good, it was burnt well done and not juicy at all. The patties seem like frozen ones that come in the box. Two stars because they give you a boat load of fries and onion rings.

This fried food junkie loves Sandy’s. Great fries, tater tots, and cheese curds. I get cravings for their delicious olive burger! They definitely do not skimp on the olives! The service is fast and helpful. On our most recent visit, we were greeted and got our drink order in within two minutes of sitting down. Normally I’m not a dive bar kind of gal, but the food here is so good, the prices are so reasonable, and the service is so friendly that I’ll happily come here anytime.

This is a quaint, divvy little bar that’s been around for decades. Little, if anything appears to have changed since it was opened — including the worn, outdated décor. The menu is simple — burgers, fries, onion rings, and small assortment of comfort foods. They do what they do well, and the service is good and friendly. The burger was a little on the greasy side, but the serving of onion rings was enough for two people — and tasty. Not a bad little sport if you’re looking for something old-school.

NOTFAMILYFRIENDLYATALL! I know, it’s a bar. What can you really expect when bringing your family there. BUT, we used to love this place before kids and every time we went after having kids it became increasingly clear that we were no longer welcome there with kids. We only took the kids there on a weekend during the middle of the afternoon, often there was only one other couple there. And it seemed like every time we went the service got worse, we were ignored while the other people there without kids got way more attention. My kids never screamed or threw a fit in the restaurant so I know it wasn’t that. Last time our server was just downright rude to us and we refuse to go back. Which is sad because the food was good and the price was great.

I was here with a guest on a Saturday night. The place was dead, but we weren’t there for the ambiance. We were there for great, cheap bar food, which is what my fellow Unilocalers promised us. Sandy’s delivered. The place feels more like something you’d find in the northwoods than in the metro, but that’s part of it’s charm. It checks the dive bar box without feeling divey — things are dated but still clean and well-kept. I was not afraid to use the restroom and didn’t feel like I had to shower when I got home. The food was quite good. The menu is small — I doubt the kitchen is much more than a griddle and a deep fryer. But what they serve up is flavorful and predictable. Predictable in a good way — I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and got what I asked for. No funny business, no frou-frou aiolis or wacky toppings. I asked what came on it and the bartender/server said dryly, «it comes as advertised. Bacon and cheese.» They’ll throw some other stuff on there but only if you ask. As for the burger, it’s like a better, butterier version of what you’d find at Culver’s. Just good, solid food. It’s not some pretentious $ 14 creation you’ll find at Red Cow, but it’s not trying to be. My guest raved about her fish sandwich. Again, not exotic but reasonably priced and well prepared. Tots were excellent, fries were meh. Staff was friendly and the Blackhawks won. I’m sure this is sacrilege to some, but unless you’re looking for a Juicy Lucy, I’d hit this place up before Matt’s or 5 – 8. All in all, worth a repeat visit.

This is exactly the kind of bar with a small-town feel that I love to visit. In other words: it’s like a neighborhood dive bar but doesn’t have the horrible dirt and grime of some dive bars. Although the bathroom is a basement water closet. This place has a nice pool table and juke box, comfy booths, TVs, etc. Most importantly Sandy’s has good food, of which they don’t blush to boast. The burger I had was the Sandy’s Sizzler which had a chipotle mayo and diced-up jalapenos. The burger was slightly over-done, but no biggie because the patties are thin. The bun may have been slightly over-toasted as well, but it was still mighty good. The fries were decent, they give you a good portion of crinkle-cut fries for $ 3. Sandy’s is a little overpriced though, with a $ 5 basket of tater tots… my girlfriend ordered that and it couldn’t have been more than 50 cents worth of tots. Just a bit of a shame that they try to rip you on stuff like that. Plus a MGD bottle was like four bucks with pretty much zero craft beer options. You can get a mug of piss like Michelob for $ 2.50 or a pitcher for about $ 9. I suppose the menu makes more sense if you go in groups of three or four or more, wherein you share the apps and pitchers of beer and therefore it’s really affordable. The burgers aren’t expensive. The Sizzler was $ 6 on its own, which isn’t unreasonable. I think the median burger price was around $ 5. Not a problem there. I really like the feel of this place and our server/bartender was cool. I would return and get more burgers, but I feel they should look at some of their prices. People love places like Sandy’s, so you don’t want them walking away wondering why you’re charging so much for tater tots that are presumably out of a frozen bag, and cheap domestics. MGD should be like $ 3.00 a bottle, tops, not $ 3.75, that adds up to a bit too much. I’d rather pay $ 5 a pint for Summit EPA than overpay for swill. Cash or personal check only.

Dang, that’s a good burger. This place feels like small town Iowa, and surprisingly, that’s not a bad thing. Get a frosty mug of Nordeast, a burger and some fries. Seriously, the burgers are so simple but SOGOOD. How do they do it? The toasted bun. I have gotten a spicy burger and also the cream cheese/green olive burger. It sounds weird, but it was bomb. Sit at the bar, its great. The owner is always working and he’s super nice, even topping off our beers for free as we were drinking them. As other said, bring cash or your dusty checkbook!

Good: tasty burgers, my friend liked his olive burger quite a bit. Had Amber Bock on tap which doesn’t happen a lot. Cool little bar with trivia. Bad: burgers aren’t very big so even though they’re cheap you may need two. They don’t take credit cards so you need to BRINGCASH. I didn’t want to leave my friend while I went to the bank so I basically added $ 5 in bank fees to my total. Ugly: word of warning: DONTORDERTATERTOTS. $ 5 later, about 20 tater tots show up to the table. I asked the waiter guy if it was $ 5 and he said yes. I asked him if that’s all I get for $ 5 and he shrugs his shoulders and goes back to work. In all, it’s a neat little bar but leaving hungry after a chezburger and tots with two beers($$ 22.50 after ATM fees) it didn’t feel worth it.

Awesome small town tavern atmosphere. Our server was very friendly. The newly added Chicken Sriracha Wontons had a good flavor and a nice spicy finish. Good solid cheeseburger and crinkle cut fries. The beer list is a bit sparse.
