To me, a diamond in the rough is the best way to sum up this store. Thirty years ago my health-food-nut mom used to drag me and my sister here and buy a whole bunch of stuff, including tofu from bins in a fridge that you’d have to fish out by putting a plastic bag over your hand if I remember correctly. I thought the store was weird then, and I still think it’s a little weird(quirky) now, but it really does have a great selection of health foods. It does not have the glorious feel of a Whole Foods, but the bones of the store are great and the shelves are PACKED with health food gems. One day, sans kids, I intend to come in here and just spend 45 minutes perusing all the funny and interesting offerings.

I hope they are able to make changes as an employee of the store msged me and said. It is likely hard to have a nicer looking place as its in a cement strip mall ish place. The windows likely need blinds or cover because of the sun. I decided to up it because they wrote to me nicely and I thought about how hard it would be to have their business in the city. It is hot there and so covering the wondows is a need sometimes. I hope they do well.

I love coming here. Don’t be fooled by the hole-in-the-wall storefront. It is a little faded, could use a bit of updating, but their stock is amazing. It’s definitely not a place to get all your groceries, but it has certain specialty items that are really hard to find outside of a dang Whole Foods — and considering the nearest Whole Foods is hours away, I’m not going to knock this place for any slight imperfections.

It’s pretty old and run down, and the hours are weird, for religious reasons. That said, having a holistic store in Tri Cities, you take what you can get. Most of the employees seem to not hate their jobs. Most know what they are talking about. But I can’t shake the feeling when I’m in here, that Ive reached 1.21 jigawatts, and jumped back in time to 1984.

No thrills, but good selection and price on some items beats major stores in area. For instance, Walden Farms products are cheaper than in Fred Meyer. They often have unadvertised sales, which is nice to discover. They are staffed appropriately, and they’re helpful and courteous. No frills with this place, just a good old hometown store.

This is a great little store. Everyone in the store is very nice and they remember who you are. They don’t have as big a selection as their Highlands store(Richland’s store is much smaller), but I’m usually able to find what I need. In the last year, their gluten-free section has significantly improved, both in mixes, dry goods, AND frozen options. In particular, I’m really excited they started carrying the Kinnickinnick and Namaste brands. The other new item they started carrying this year was milk from Éire Farms in Connell. 1%, 2%, whole, and raw. Yay for raw milk!!! They also carry a couple varieties of raw cheeses.

Nice and friendly. That’s what I look for in a quality business. Made me feel good about spending my money there.

We recently moved here from Seattle and I visited Richland health foods yesterday. Although I agree the place could stand to be spruced up a little — I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of specialty items they carried. They didn’t have some of the more common things that I could find at Fred Meyer, but that’s okay, because you can find those common organics just about anywhere these days. They put some of the bigger health food chains to shame with their selection of things I would have had to order online — even living in Seattle. Yay for Richland Health Foods, I will definitely be making this a regular stop in my grocery shopping!

Ok, we live in the boonies known as the Tri-Cities. With that said, if there’s a health food store here, you have to give it some props. I mean we are in a land of chain restaurants and grocery stores. So you have to give some love to the«little man» sometimes. Yes, if this store was in a bigger city, it would probably not fare well, but in the Tri-Cities, I’d have to say its a decent option. I’ve been here a few times. The other day, I did a quick scan of their food selection. And they have quite a bit of items you just can’t find at other stores. They have quite a bit of bulk food. Additionally, they also sell some dried fruit/veggies from another local health food company(Highland Health Foods in Kennewick) – I bought some vegetable chips. Overall, if you want to go to a place with some hard to find ethnic food, healthy alternatives, or fare other than that which would be found at a chain grocery, then Richland Health Foods is a good option. My only qualm with this shop is that it closes fairly early.

Coming from Cambridge, MA, this isn’t a very good natural food store. Since it’s one of two in the Tricities and it’s close to my house, I still shop there quite frequently. They have a good selection of bulk foods, particularly the variety of flours and pasta types(non-semolina). Their refrigerated section is woefully small and lacks several products that I often get a hankering for. The freezer section is actually larger than the refrigerated sections and contains a lot of sprouted bread products. Be forwarned that this and the Kennewick branch are run by Seventh Day Adventists, so they’re closed on Saturdays and their«regular» hours vary seasonally.
