Sushi was not rolled properly, and was a mess. The ingredients did seem fresh, but there was just nothing special about anything we ordered. I can’t understand why anyone would say this is the best sushi in Tri-Cities. Sushi Mori and Sushi Ya are both way better. I feel like I wasted a lot of money. Also, it just didn’t seem like a clean place. The table was sticky, and the person serving us was not friendly.

If you love avocado-heavy rolls, then this is the right place! If you don’t like avocado-heavy rolls, go somewhere else. While the mainstream American palate demands avocado rolls, I like a more authentic sushi experience. #avocado-free-sushi-NOW

Subs N’ Jean is now Seoul Sushi. They no longer serve sandwiches: They still have their sushi and other Korean foods. I recommend this as the sushi place to go to in the Tri-cities. Since they’re family owned, they normally take a while to make the sushi, but it’s worth the wait. I’ve been going to this place for years and they serve good food and have friendly service. Bonus: if you’re cutting down on sodium, you can ask for low sodium soy sauce. It’s not available at the table so be sure to ask :)

Don’t be fooled by the exterior or the interior. It’s not a reflection of the sushi. The majority of the sushi is delicious. As for the sandwiches they offer… just nasty. Went there with my sister for late lunch. I ordered sushi and she got a sandwich. She ended up staring at me across the table as I indulged. Lols

My sushi was FROZEN. Enough said! I don’t know why anyone would like this place. Go to sushi ya… that’s the best sushi in Tri cities.

This and Sakura are the best sushi places around. Fresh fresh fresh. I have never been disappointed. It is a casual setting and a bit high priced for the setting. But not for the food and that’s what really counts. Food preparation takes longer than usual but its always worth the wait and made fresh per order. This is my second favorite place to eat sushi in Tri Cities. I also love their miso soup. You can’t go wrong at Subs N Jean. Excellent.

Best sushi in TriCities. Sandwiches = awesome. Korean items = great! LOVE the huge variety to choose from. Oh and since i first tried there teriyaki chicken with rice back in ’06 i have not to this day found a place that makes it nearly as good as they do.

Sort of an unassuming and strange place, but with great sushi! I will start with how to order here as it can be a bit confusing. If you have never been here before, you would likely just find a table you like, sit down and wait to be served. This will not go as planned however, as the owners, who run the place, will not greet or provide instructions. They will just let you sit their until your heart is content. It can be a bit frustrating for a newbie, but pretty funny to everyone else. There is an ordering window towards the back in an area you can’t readily see when you walk in. Just go and look over the menu and order there. Very large menu and hard to choose, but the sushi rolls are very good and fresh. The sushi chef does his job, slices and dices and gets food out pretty quickly. I give 4 stars just based on the sushi, the other aspects reduce it down to a 3.

This is a great place for a quick, inexpensive sushi fix. I enjoy the simple, but tasty rolls and their miso soup. The sandwiches are filled nicely, not all bread and little meat like some places. Good place to stop for a bite while walking the farmer’s market.

In my search for great sushi… Subs N Jean. I had 3 friends recommend this place to me. To be honest I didn’t eat here. I opened the door and the smell of bad fish overwhelmed me. I turned around and left before my 2nd foot entered the room. Great location. Bad day??? I’ll try again later

My favorite sushi place in Richland. Its my hidden gem that I go to. I love their james dean roll, Yoshi roll, rainbow roll, and their VEGAS roll! I am never disappointed when I arrive. They are always friendly to me and it’s never too busy!

I am very surprised to see so many positive reviews about this place. Definitely not the best sushi in the Tri-Cities. I have visited this place three times… don’t know why other than I must be a glutton for punishment! Twice I have bitten into fish that was still frozen! The last time I visited was a little better but I still was not impressed and will not be coming back. The prices were too high for the quality of sushi. If you want better sushi, better service and better prices, visit Sushi-Ya, Sukura or Sushi Mori.

Okay, things have changed since my last review. The lady there is grumpy — no smile, no ‘thank you for coming in,’ nothing. My daughter and I arrived and we were the only ones seated with four tables that had dirty dishes on it. She took our order and the nice gentlemen began working on our food. Dirty dishes still strewn on four other tables. We get our food, I ordered sushi bowl(Korean dapdap or something) and the fish roe and sliced fish WEREFROZEN. The rice was slimey and there were still dirty dishes on the other tables! While the guy was making our frozen food, the lady just sat at her corner watching tv! ANDOURTABLESWERESTICKY. Ugg! After the nice man made our food, he took his hat off to get a dish rag and clean tables and grab dirty dishes while the other lady still sat! Customers walked in, a couple, so the man quickly went back to assume his ready position at the kitchen helm to wash up and prepare himself to cook, so the lady of the couple took it upon herself to help gather the dirty dishes left behind as they walked up to the counter to order! And other sad thing, I asked for vinegar to dip my sushi in because I can’t do soy anymore and the lady said they don’t have vinegar and walked away from me. Um sushi rice is made with vinegar? There’s no vinegar in the restaurant? Ugggg. No thank you anyway. We’re happier at Sushi Mori.
Not sushi ya but it worked on a Sunday that I was craving sushi.

Bugsy is very disappointed. Travelling through the nuclear wasteland that is the Tri-Cities, he needed a sushi fix… unfortunately, someone needs to fix Subs N Jean. First, the lighting and atmosphere is horrendous. Bugsy has lots of experience in funky Asian restaurants, but this was over the top bad… no one to great you, sticky tables, dirty dishes all around on tables from previous customers… ugh. Bugsy went to the counter and ordered Bi Bim Bap, a Vegetable Roll, and Miso. The Bi Bim Bap had a funky serving plate in the picture, not the sizzling stone bowl. Asking if it was hot, the response was«yes, a little». Ordered it Vegetarian…3 times, clarifying«no meat»…you know what happens next. Out comes the food… Beef all over the place. Bugsy took it back(to the seemingly annoyed owners), and remarkably, the same dish reappeared only a few minutes later. It all looked clear… except that there was still a few«stray» beef chunks integrated into the dish; they simply removed the meat. An old, cheap trick of the restaurant business. Lame. Flavors? Not really. This was the worst Bi Bim Bap I’ve experienced. The Roll was mediocre, and definitely not worth the money. The Miso, however, was very tasty. Bugsy slipped out of this joint without even being noticed. The worst $ 20 ever spent. Don’t waste your time when there is much better within a ten-minute drive…

Had to upgrade this place to 4.5(rounding up to 5). Still make decent rolls and I ordered them for takeout and they were pretty tasty for lunch(and dinner). Another item worth noting: this is the first place in the Tri-Cities I’ve seen with a «People Love Us On Unilocal» sticker! Cool!
