Buddy’s is my favorite neighborhood bar because I can walk there, they space is pretty big, and they have a great happy hour that runs Mon-Fri until 7pm. However, I am not a fan of their food here. I have had several instances where they are out of food I wanted to order, I don’t get what I have ordered, or it’s just not good quality. With all that being said you will still find me here on a week night, sipping a $ 1.25 Miller Lite. Thanks Buddy’s!

Visited new buddy’s for the first time. It has earned its 2 ½ star rating. Bar was packed… they should stick with drinks so no one knows how bad the food is. Apps took forever… they brought the wrong wings… sent them back… they rinsed them and put on the right flavor. Fries were cold they microwaved them. Enough said.

Had a great time here on Halloween! Played old school 90’s hits. They have Rolling Rock in the bottle and the late night food was on point. Waiter was Tucker, he was awesome!

Went to the new location on Sheppard street for dinner(group of 4). It’s a sit where you see an open table type of thing apparently(no host/hostess). We waited for a booth and sat down. It took 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. Aggravating. We ordered drinks, apps, and dinner. They advised they are out of meatloaf and French fries. You’re open 3 days and you’re out of fries? Fries??? Go to the grocery store or Costco and get your restaurant some fries!!! Seriously. The drinks and food came. Why do locals like this place? I assume for drinking because it’s definitely not the service or food. The chili cheese tots had little chili(no meat at all and just a small amount of beans). The burger was horrible, bun was dry and stale, meat wasn’t tasty at all. Everyone else also was dissatisfied with their food at the table. One of the people in my party got charged on his credit card for the owners bar tab. Owner? Bar tab? We are sitting at a booth, not the bar. He looks nothing like the owner. What in the world is wrong with this place? Again, I think it appears it’s just a drinking place. Bad addition to the neighborhood.

Heard the food is decent. Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to try it because the service was so terrible… twice. waitress never even brought us menus and looked the other way when we tried to get her attention. No chance we’ll come back with all the great bars and restaurants in RVA.

8:30pm on a Friday night. No hostess to be found. We found an open seat and the waitress got us drinks. We had to find our own menus. We gave up and went next door to Arianna’s for food. We will not be back.

Buddy’s is a great place to eat and hang out. The crowd is a mix of old and young people. There are a lot of people who have been going to Buddy’s for years, but if you are a newbie, you are very, very welcome! The beer selection and wait staff are great. They remember you every time you walk in! The tots are the best I’ve had in Richmond. As someone who has traveled and eaten in the finest restaurants, I would say the food is really good at Buddy’s. Try the bloody mary bar at brunch. We tried the monthly crab feasts this summer and they were the best crabs I have ever had.

Great happy hour to hide away on those hot/steamy Richmond afternoons. Good, beer, wine and well specials.

I’ve been here around 5 – 10 times, and have only had fun once. The crowd was either old guys at happy hour, or jam packed at night where I wouldn’t stay more than 5 mins. Food was horrendous. Last time I went was a slow night & wasn’t offered a beer within 10 mins so I left. The trivia guy is cool tho
