Have purchased several furniture pieces and accessories from Ethan Allen. All are quality pieces that last. I think they have upscale timeless pieces that look great in our home. Associates are well versed in design, and don’t pressure a sale. Will admit we mostly buy items on sale to maximize value.

When it comes to quality, service, and value there is no place in the greater Richmond area then Ethan Allen.

The furniture looks great when new, but within a few years (4 in my case) the finish starts to chip and wear, and looks like some cheap stuff. Even the hardware starts to give. Customer service is very slow to respond. Very disappointing. Seems like a classy operation, until they have to fix something. Then the experience is very poor.

My sister still has some Ethan Allen furniture she got when she first got married a few decades ago. They’re known for quality products that last, and obviously that’s true. However, they went through sort of a «metrosexual» design period a few years ago, when they were trying to update their image from just being a traditional furniture store and they lost their way a bit in trying to be modern.
I’m glad to say that they’ve finally figured it out and now have a nice mix of both styles, with products and coordinating fabrics grouped in sub-​design categories like country chic, glamorous, traditional, metro, etc.
You can customize almost anything here… find a sofa style and choose your fabric or create your own home office suite with mix and match pieces and bookcase elements.
The design consultants at this store actually know their stuff and aren’t just salespeople. They will spend time with you on picking fabrics, measurements, and all those pesky details. And while everything here is pricey, it should last a lifetime, so this is a good place to shop for an investment piece like a gorgeous bed or solid sofa.

Beautiful furniture! We just purchased a new home and we decided to go furniture shopping. So far we’ve been to Ashley Furniture, Haverty’s, Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn. After visiting all of those stores we have to say the quality of the furniture here is superb. Very solid construction and beautifully designed and arranged. The service was just as amazing as their furniture. As soon as you walked into the door they were warm and welcoming. From previous visits to other stores, this is not always the case.
The sales associate introduced herself and then left us to peruse the items at our own leisure. When we were almost done she checked back with us and answered any questions we might have had. Awesome store! I would totally recommend them to friends in the future.
