Just had literally a $ 4.00 Asian chicken salad for the cost of $ 12.00. There was about a tablespoon of chicken salad and no more than 1−½ cups of lettuce. Won’t be back anytime soon, if ever!!!

I would like to review the food here, but my interaction with the hostess was so rude that my wife and I walked out before waiter service could begin. We walked in on a Saturday around noon, where the restaurant was mostly empty, including the hostess stand. After a brief wait, the hostess walked up and said«can I help you» in a tone that was very unfriendly and non-welcoming. Her body language gave off the impression that she thought we might try selling her time-shares in Florida. After letting her know that we would just like a table for two, she decided the best place to sit us in the completely open restaurant was at a table right next to the door and directly under a speaker blaring muzak. She quickly disappeared back to her hiding spot before we could ask to be moved elsewhere, so we ended up leaving. Thanks Mosiac for the rudest dining experience ever!

Food is delicious here. Came here for Sunday brunch and the Eggs Benedict was one of the best I’ve ever had. You have the option of three sides with your entrée: potatoes, grits, or fruit. What’s nice about this restaurant is they have some healthy options available as well if you are trying to watch your figure! Another must try are the cookies which they serve heated. The Mac and cheese is also a favorite. So yummy! The only reason four instead of five stars is because we have been here many times and depending on the time, service may be a little slow. Otherwise, excellent place to go out for a meal!

I’ve been to both the restaurant and have used their catering services many times at my previous job. They never fail to disappoint. For boxed lunches I love the MOSAIC Turkey Club and the Charleston Chicken Roller. The express ordering options for catering were super convenient and if we ever had a problem they always worked with us to correct it. VEGETARIAN –VEGAN — GLUTEN-FREE options

We had a wonderful night and a great time at Mosaic. The drinks and food were amazing. The new décor is beautiful. And then you turn to your sight to the right and it’s like a doggie bday, no joke there are pics of dogs and food. It’s kind of a jerk into the SPCA lol. Other than the dogs my waitress \bartenders Robyn and Amanda were terrific, call them mind readers. Loved it, just don’t understand the dogs lol

Dinner was good expect chicken dish was rather salty… But the dessert made up for it all. Crème caramel. Mmmmmm

Mosaic for lunch… Seated right away. Has a good selection of seating with standard tables, high-tops, couched, and a bar scene area. The music was some type of acid rock which was odd and disconcerting, I’d tone it down. Service was prompt and friendly. We had the fried green tomato BLT(one with and without soup) and it was very good. Nice sauce, pumpkin soup side was interesting(I’m not a fan, but reports from the table were positive). The«Fit» salad was also very good … Moderately priced, good atmosphere(minus the inappropriate music), good service, above average food. Will be back.

The salmon was bland and underwhelming. We were a large party, so maybe that had something to do with it. However everyone who had the salmon was disappointed. It was unseasoned and seemed to be seared in a bit too much oil. The outside was crispy, not tender, yet the skin was kind of limp. The grits were lumpy and sweet– unexpected in a not so good way. It also came with about 3 tablespoons of butter on the side. The butter was beautifully presented, and looked like a wonderful sauce, which made the fact that it a fat lump of bland butter even more disappointing. On the positive side, the ambiance was very nice, the service was excellent and the wine was delish. Absolutely recommend a visit here, but do yourself a favor and get the beef or chicken instead. Update: The crème brule was cold. Definitely seemed that it was premade and warmed in the oven. But the coffee was good!

Sriracha fried chicken mac and cheese! Thats all you need to know. I’m in love with that entrée and keep coming back for more. I love the atmosphere that this restaurant offers.

This place looks nice. Has a great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. However, that is where the good review stops. It took over an hour to get our food and the food was bland and not worth the wait or the price. I was in a party of four and all of us were not happy with the meal. The penne pasta was bland, the beef medallion was over cooked and could of used some more flavor — possibly some more cheese, and the oyster pot pie had very few oysters and the filling was runny and milky. Again not a lot of flavor.

Just wanted to update my review to add that I recently tried the MMC Salmon dish off their lighter fare menu, as I am trying for healthier, cleaner meals, and it did not disappoint. I was worried it would be too small, but it was perfect. I even had a small portion to take home for lunch the following day. I highly recommend.

I recently came here for lunch on a beautiful Friday. My group choose to sit inside, but they had plenty of outdoor seating as well. I would describe the type of food as new American but with a southern flair, so menu items ranged from fried green tomatoes to salmon to panini’s. I had the edamame hummus as an appetizer, which I loved. It was light enough that I was still hungry for my entrée, but definitely substantial in size. I split the turkey and Brie panini and the MCC salmon with a friend, and we loved both. We appreciated that our waitress returned often to refill our drinks. I was glad we warned her that we were in a bit of a time crunch because I’ve heard the service can be quite slow since everything is obviously made to order and it’s a busy place. We spent about an hour there for lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere. Despite its location far from my hotel, it’s very conveniently located in relation to the University of Richmond campus.

Yes. The dreaded one-star review. I am not playing. The catered lunch we received from Mosaic today was simply unacceptable. One of the vendors that my employer works with wanted to treat our office to lunch, and gave us free reign to choose whatever we wanted. The staff decided on Mosaic, which, from their menu at least, sounded fantastic. For the money that was spent, the quality of the food(and the presentation) was shockingly disappointing. The«elegant combination platter» of cold chicken nuggets, stale pita, mayo-heavy corn«dip» and dry-as-a-science textbook ham biscuits tasted off, and arrived spilled completely off of their serving platters, on their sides in a bag. A dessert plate intended to feed up to 12 people had four cookies and three chocolate truffles, none of which were even the desserts initially requested. The faces and sounds of dismay around the table this afternoon were, at least, comical. And that is the only good thing I have to say about the experience. In summation: Mosaic is one of those traditional, old-school Richmond places that rest on their laurels as something«nice», when in fact it is sub-par. I’ve had better food from a grocery store hot bar. Shame on you Mosaic.

A few of my girlfriends and I try to meet up for lunch/dinner each month, at a different location. None of us had visit Mosaic so we were excited to give it a try. The«girls lunch out» atmosphere was exceptional. We made reservations and they were very accommodating for us 8 ladies. The food was delicious and filling, not too much but just enough. Mosaic will definitely go on the list as one of our favorites.

Food was really delicious. I wasn’t expecting to be that satisfied, but it was actually very very tastey & delicious. The atmosphere was nice as well. It wasn’t too crowded on a Sunday, when my husband and I decided to have brunch. Father’s Day, no less. The drinks was a little watered down, but it was the afternoon. I was very impressed with the service. The waitress was polite and efficient. She listened and she came to the table often to ensurw we were happy with everything. I will definitely come back soon. I was pleased enough to show off to my friends.

I absolutely love this place. The last visit was for my birthday dinner. The staff was very attentive and tried their best to accommodate my large party. What I wanted wasn’t on the menu, but the waitress advised the chef that it was my birthday and he prepared it especially for me. I don’t have anything bad to say about this place.

Mosaic is an amazing choice for a lunch get together or a romantic dinner. The food has big flavor but is thoughtful about the calories and ingredients. Its an upper crust establishment, but they are flexible enough to allow me to ride up on my mtn bike and sit on the patio after a long ride. The big question is this place is a mile from my house, why don’t i eat here more? There unsweetened tea has a floral/fruity addition that elevates it like my grandmother’s. Today i had the life cakes made of black beans, with edamame hummus, feta, baby spinach, and some yogurt sauce. Awesome combo.

Came here for dinner with the folks after a long drive up from Charlotte on a Sunday night, and I was impressed with the quality of the food and the service. My folks had arrived about ten minutes before my girlfriend and I did, so they were seated already. Beer selection was good, if a bit pricey — I ordered the COTU Chin Music(the official beer of the Richmond Flying Squirrels). We took a bit of time in ordering as we were catching up, so I cannot comment too much on the supposed slowness of the service, but the waitress we had was attentive, brought water(including hot water with lemon for my mom) and bread. Only knock against her was that she did not know the beer on tap as they had just changed the keg and had to go and check. Anyway, food-wise, we tried the spring rolls(Julie G posted a good photo of this appetizer, four rolls split into halves, so eight pieces total), and I ordered the scallop special. The three scallops were large, tender, and tasty, and the risotto was well flavored and filling. I quite enjoyed the sauces they had artistically put on the plate, and was overall very pleased with the meal size and quality. My girlfriend got the pita crab cake, and I tried a bite. The only downside there was that the sauce was a bit overpowering and a bit too spicy, but taste of the crab cake was good, and there was lots of meat. Would definitely recommend giving Mosaic a try if you are in the area and looking for good new American food!

I went with a group of friends. about 8 people for brunch. Apparently when I go anywhere in Richmond, service just automatically becomes horrendous. My friends who live in the area said that the restaurant wasn’t typically as slow as it was that day. It seemed like all other tables had servers that were way better than the one we had. Some of the other tables of 6 people or so got there after us and left before us! We weren’t provided water, in fact, the waitress left the water pitcher of water at the table next to us forgetting to pour the water for us for 10 minutes so one of my friends went over to get the water. We also weren’t provided the little starter biscuits for us that apparently everyone loves there. I ordered the crab cake benedict — one of my yolks was cooked all the way through and the other one was cooked halfway through, I had a side of the mac and cheese which was under seasoned and kind of watery. My husband had the lowcountry breakfast sandwich and grits. The sandwich was only lukewarm when we got the order and the grits was probably the best part of the meal. Overall, I would give it another try, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

My food was incredible! Both the spring rolls appetizer and my entrée. To attempt balancing out the deep friend amazingness, I got the Fit MMC Salmon dish as it looked both healthy and tasty, and it most definitely was! Also with these«low calorie» menu options I’m always worried it won’t fill me up, but it was so rich and packed with protein I could barely finish it and stayed full the rest of the day! Atmosphere is solid(unless you’re not a fan of Kate Spade purses of course), well-spaced seating, good color scheme and lighting. Our waitress was a little pushy as far as coming back constantly to see if we were ready to order/get more food/get dessert/etc, but not too bad.
