Nails 4 U & Spa

No. What could have been a 4 – 5 star experienced turned into a nightmare almost requiring urgent care. My technician, nice and sweet but with almost no English, cut off a chunk of a cuticle that was actually my finger. I bled for HALF A DAY. I bled through four cotton balls, two bandaids and was still bleeding when they finished my gel mani– it took almost 2 hours. I felt nauseated all day, and pray they kept their utensils clean so I don’t get a blood disease. She was very nice, apologetic, used all sorts of first aid treatments on me. BUT NOTHING WOULD STOP THE BLEEDING!
Upon check out, I was charged full price (OK, seriously when someone checks out and they are STILL BLEEDING and REQUIRE BANADAGES, it should be FREE). I had to go to a very formal event that night with a bloody bandaged hand. Nice. I think this was a one time accident, and had it not happened I would have gone with 4 stars probably. They did wax my eyebrows really nicely.
BUT! That was a serious serious cut, and clearly reflects training, skill, and health concerns.
Plus!!! My daughter’s toes did not last one day. First, they wouldn’t let her use the colors she picked — picked one for her. She wore sandals from her appt at 9 am until 5 pm when she dressed for an occasion, and her pedicure-​paint was destroyed. Avoid this place.

I had the most awful experience at this nail salon. From the beginning, the staff was pushy and impatient. My friend and I wanted to get our nails done together & the second she got there they were rushing her to pick out a color. She had two drinks in her hand & told them she was waiting for her friend (me) to get there. The woman took the drinks out of her hands & practically threw the color options at her. The entire time my friend was waiting, she kept rushing her & asking her when I would be there. As soon as I walked through the door the woman rushed us to the back of the salon to start on my friend’s nails. After about 5 minutes, someone came to start on my nails as well. She told me to move to a different station because the lights at that station were «not strong enough.» I asked her if she could switch out the lights, and she said no, so I politely declined and just said I would wait. I came to get my nails done with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while, and I wanted to be able to talk to her while I was getting them done. Then, when she sat down (seemingly irritated) she asked what I would like done. I showed her a picture of an ombré French manicure. She said «No, I can’t do that.» I asked her why, and she just said «I don’t know how to do that. We don’t have the stuff here to do it. Most people want plain colors so we don’t buy the stuff to do it.» I was extremely frustrated at her demeanor and the poor service I had received since walking in the door, so I asked to speak with a manager. She called the manager over & the manager literally ignored my request to speak with her. Finally, I just agreed to a plain color, and started looking through the options. As I’m looking through them, she very rudely asked for my hand and said «You want a manicure don’t you?» At this point I was mad. I picked a color, and asked if I could see it. When I told her it was a little too pink & asked to see another color she tried to convince me that the color I showed her in the original picture was the same color. Regardless, I didn’t like how it looked, so I asked for another color. Then she started taking off my old shellac and put tin foil around them to let them soak. I set my drink on the table earlier which she clearly didn’t appreciate, & she asked me «Aren’t you going to drink your drink? It’s going to melt into water.» I replied «I can’t really drink it right now, considering I have tin foil on my hands.» As she is scraping off my nail polish, her appointment comes in, 25 minutes late. She tells her that she is going to have to wait for her to be done because she showed up so late. Apparently, she changed her mind because she then told me that someone else was going to do my nails and left me with tin foil on my fingernails while she went to work on another person. I waited for another 15 minutes (with the tin foil still on my nails) for another technician to come finish my nails. Nearing the end of my nail service, the woman tells me I need to let them dry under the lights for 5 minutes. She disappears for a good 10 minutes, & I look around trying to find her & to my surprise, she’s working on another person. She comes back to me and quickly cleans up my nails and rubs a tiny bit of lotion on my hands and wipes it off with a hot towel. Usually they massage your hands & put a hot towel on your arms, which was neglected to be done. I understand that salons get busy, but working in customer service myself, I expect a certain level of service. I will never recommend this salon to anyone ever again & I will never spend my money here again. Worst experience ever.

They were really nice and friendly. I was serviced by Tiffany who did an amazing job on an acrylic full set. But I got my eyebrows done as well but I wasn’t too pleased. I felt she rushed them but they weren’t horrible either just not to my usual liking. They start at 23 dollars for an acrylic full set. I definitely do recommend. This is for the Salon in the Kroger shopping center not the one closer to Target.

This is my regular nail spa and I love it. Le always does an excellent job. After several trials and errors, she’s the only technician I’ll let do my nails. It’s a very nice spa.

Amazing service and quality work. I just had a gel mani and a pedicure. I’ve never had a tech pay such attention to detail! She also explained some things and taught me how to make the gel last longer. Honestly, this is the best experience I’ve had here in RVA. (The one next to the new Kroger. I’m not a huge fan of the one across the street by Target).

My first time here with a friend, & we showed up about 20 minutes before closing. They took us anyway and the ladies who gave us pedicures were very nice.
The prices were reasonable and the place is beautifully decorated and very spacious.
They accept tips in cash only, so if you don’t want to pay ATM fees bring money. That’s probably the only reason I’m only giving 4 stars.

This has been my go to nail place for 3+ years. I have gotten manicures and pedicures by almost everyone who works there at least once and they always do a fantastic job and are courteous. They also have a great selection of nail polish and gel and the shop is always clean.

This nail salon is big and spacious. I went on on a Saturday night and there was no wait for a pedicure which was awesome! Like another reviewer mentioned, they have a huge selection of polishes.
My favorite thing about this salon is the kids pedicure chairs that I have never seen anywhere else. So adorable!
Our nail techs were very friendly and didn’t pressure us too much for the upsell which I appreciated. They also sell flip flops for $ 2 in case you forget yours!

This nail salon has a lot of space and is really clean. Definitely a good place to go to get a relaxing mani/​pedi. They were friendly when I went and did a great job! What would keep me coming back to this nail salon is the color selection-​they had every shade of every color I could want! There were a bunch of essie polishes to choose from. There were a bunch of gel color options as well. The other nail salons I’ve been to simply don’t have this many options and tend to be cramped for space.
P. S. look for the coupons they have at the salon. If you pay in cash, you can get a small discount on some services!

The ladies here are always friendly and helpful. I’ve been several times and have never had a complaint.
This time I got both a pedicure and a gel manicure and paid $ 50 which I think is fair for the area. I will always recommend the gel manicure because if you’re like me you ruin your nails the second you walk out and stick them in your purse to get your keys. With the gel they are dry before you leave.

I had some high expectations of this place but I was very disappointed.
The location is convenient with plenty of parking and other nearby shops. I was greeted upon entering and seated with a manicurist rather quickly. She was friendly and moved through my gel manicure quickly. At first glance my gel manicure seemed great (shiny/​glossy finish, color was opaque, etc). However, TWO days after my gel manicure, three of my nails were chipping and by day six one of my nails was completely ruined and I had to remove the polish because it was getting stuck on everything. A couple additional nails started snagging on things (hair, sweater, etc).
I’m not a particularly picky person and I’ve had many gel manicures in the past and have never had this problem. I considered going back to have them fixed but that seems like a waste of time at this point.
I would not return to this location for a gel manicure or any other service. It’s a real disappointment because the staff was friendly and the location was tidy and clean.

Super impressed! This place was clean and fast. Le did my nails. She was friendly and did a superb job taking off my gel manicure. My nails were beautiful at the end and the $ 25 cost was a pleasant surprise! There was a regular flow of people coming but no lines; however, when I return I will make an appointment just in case.

Every time I’ve been here over the last 4 months, I have been satisfied every single time! The service is amazing.

I came in late and rushed for time, but they were on the job! They assigned two nail techs (one for my pedicure and one for my manicure) and they worked together, as well as had a nice conversation with me. Thilda did my nails (I think), and she did a FABULOUS job. She painted a beautiful pattern on my ring finger to showcase my engagement. She did most of the talking, and translated whatever the other one was saying. I really appreciated that because at some locations, they have conversations all around you and pretend like you don’t exist. Theary did my toes, and she was very thorough. Her spa treatment was fantastics. I was very impressed that she didn’t skimp on steps, despite the rushed time. All in all, I had a spa treatment ($ 23) and a full set of french manicure ($ 25) for a total of $ 48 (plus tips, of course).
It may not be the fanciest place in the world, but I thought they were so nice and caring and really showed me they cared. Show Thilda and Theary love if you go there!

Went in about 2 days ago to check them out because my manicurist is on maternity leave and they are literally 3 minutes from my house soooo why not.
The place is very nice. They offer lots of services other than mani/​pedi/​waxing. The guy at the front desk was nice and so was the lady that did my mani/​pedi but her work was amateur at best. She left polish on my toes (around the nail) and didn’t bother to grab the polisher remover to get it off which is lazy considering it was sitting right next to her. There was no way she didn’t see it because I noticed as soon as I sat down at the dryer. She seemed rushed and that really turned me off to this place.
I’ll have to find some other place until my manicurist returns I will not visit this location again.

This is a new location thta was awesome service, friendly staff. and most important quick service but not too quick. I stopped in for a pedicure. The place is very nice inside, it has a huge pedicure area, so there cant possibly be any wait time even if its busy. Mi noticed they use a lot of new machines Ive never seen before for drying nails. The prices were reasonable, about the same as everywhere else. I also noticed they have specials and coupons available for services. I will definitly be back in a couple weeks.

The five star rating is associated with one person and one person only — Henry. He gives the absolute best pedicures and manicures in Richmond. He is courteous, sweet, and he takes such good care of your hands and feet. You can walk in and get great service from anyone there, but if you want a truly luxurious experience call and schedule an appointment with Henry.

Yesterday I visited this place for the first time and was very impressed. The place was not overly decorated, it was clean, and the employees were friendly and accommodating. I got the deluxe pedi and it was well worth the little bit of extra money. I’m also a loyal OPI girl, and they had the latest colors AND all the classic favorites.
I WILL be back!

My wife came here the day before her sister’s wedding and was terribly disappointed. She opted for the shellac/​gel manicure, the most expensive option for a manicure at $ 35. It started off looking good, but then within hours the entire manicure was riddled with bubbles. She read up on it – basically the bubbles mean they put the base coat on too thick, which resulted in bubbles coming up through the color and ruining the manicure. They also didn’t have all the colors you could choose from, leaving her having to get a color she didn’t originally select. She won’t be back.

This is pretty much my favorite place for a bargain mani/​pedi. Depending on the special they’ve got running, you can get a deluxe pedicure and a manicure for $ 35-​$ 45. You can usually walk right in without an appointment.
A deluxe pedicure includes your typical foot care steps, but they also exfoliate your feet and legs below the knee, rub them with something minty and wrap your legs in hot towels for a wonderfully relaxing tingly sensation. Then, they massage your legs with hot stones and some kind of tropical oil that makes them feel very mosturized and smell great.
I’ve always felt that the nail techs here were very thorough and take their time making your feet and nails look great. Like many of the more affordable nail salons, the décor here is kind of sterile with lots of big, massaging recliners for pedicures along the wall. There is a big, tropical-​ish mural on one wall that at least sets a relaxing tone. I’ll definitely continue to come here for affordable nail care with a few extra touches.
