Nirvana Salon and Spa

Excellent service at Nirvana. Keisha is professional, personable (without being *too* personal), efficient and knowledgeable. She listened to my preferences, assessed my hair without making me feel bad about its admittedly rough shape, and did exactly what I had in mind. I didn’t even have to do the «comb over» in the car, as one usually has to do with a new stylist until they learn you. Worth every penny.

Glennis was AWESOMEEEE! I arrived as a walk in and very unsure about my hair. I felt as if Glennis was an old friend. She sat me down, offered me a beverage and I had the most intense consultation I have ever had. We talked, giggled, and then she got down to business. My hair was fabulous! I had the most incredible time! LOVE LOVE LOVE HER. Def will be back.

My man Elliot hooks me up with a great classic cut with a current flare. He knows how the styles change and what’ll look good on you, but can still keep the lines tight.
As an apprentice, he still needs a bit of work. Just on the edging (a bit uneven along with a slightly pushed back hairline) and lightness with the trimmers (pushes down a bit hard). The heat/​burn after an edging is a bit more than I’m used to, maybe it’s the equipment?
All in all there’s great customer service and I can’t wait to go back. Going in to get some dreads done over the summer. Can’t wait.

A few friends (mostly guys) get their hair cut regularly at Nirvana; they say it’s the best place, for guys at least. Danny I hear is really good! I finally went in today to wait while a friend got a cut, and I was super impressed! It’s gorgeous on the inside and the staff are incredibly friendly and caring about their customers. While waiting I got to talk to a couple of the stylists, was kindly offered a drink, and had a few of my troubled-​hair questions answered. I am definitely making an appointment for myself sometime this week!

Ok, so I read the previous review and I WISH I had been offered a mimosa or even a cup of water. A friend recommended I go to Danny at Nirvana so, I made an appointment only to be told later that I had been double booked. By the time the barber got to me, he spent more time prancing around in a smokey red jacket and santa hat than tending to me. Once he did start to cutting my hair, he was rough and ran the clippers and brush over my ears. Really? I don’t have any hair there!!! Let’s not forget how he pushed back my hairline and left his mark by literally leaving a red line ALL ALONG MY HAIRLINE. I mean, skin burnin’. And when I told him about it, he stated that it would go away in a few minutes. Well it’s day two and I’m still red and on fire. If you want your hairline to be ruined for Christmas, then go ahead and get double booked with Danny.

Maurice is wonderful! The salon is very well appointed everyone is very nice and they serve beverages. Whats better than to wait with a Mimosa!
