Love this place-friendly staff, great prices, and delicious food! My favorite things to order are the bbq chicken sandwich and the corn pudding. I also love their desserts, especially the cookies!

Love that they have this location now! They’ve even added some new menu items like fried chicken, burgers, and hot dogs! I haven’t tried them yet but I’m sure they are delicious just like everything else on their menu. I always get the chicken plate but their pork is great too! You’ve gotta try the Mac n cheese, greens and their pineapple hot dish! Ask for samples if you’re not sure what to get! The staff are always so friendly and helpful!

I ordered a brisket plate. The meat was well cooked and tasty but not as tender and soft as a Texas style brisket. Also, the portion size is too small. The side dishes were well prepared. The spicy sauce is not at all spicy. The biggest issue here is the portion size, you should never leave a bbq restaurant hungry. They have taken the saying«too much of a good thing» too far.

Food is fine, the $ 9.25 for the BBQ plate is ok but my portion of chicken was very small. Also their menu says $ 3 beers, but my bottle of Budweiser was $ 4. I brought this up to them and they just argued that’s for drafts only. But they don’t sell drafts… I don’t appreciate being mislead. On another occasion, they were offering some sort of coupon with purchase. The guy in front of me didnt want his so he gave it to me, but the cashier wouldn’t let me use it. I will avoid in the future, I hope they go out of business.

Prices went up yet the portions are still the smallest in town. $ 35 for two people to eat is a little ridiculous. This use to be my favorite bbq place in Richmond but that honor now goes to Mission bbq. Don’t get me wrong Q still has my favorite sauce in town their Sa-Weet sauce is awesome and the food is good but it use to be great. Maybe it’s just this location? Try the one out in Midlothian. Great banana pudding.

Ok place… atmosphere is nice very clean. The food though was overpriced, small portions and either too salty or not tasteful at all. Had the Smoked chicken 2/side combo chicken was a bit salty, corn pudding was gross, greens where ok if you like whole & not chopped leaf greens. Came for lunch for the first time expected lunch prices but nah… won’t try again but was nice to say I’ve been there I guess.

Everyone thinks this place has the best BBQ on the planet, however I think it is average. All of the meat is soaked in sauce and I prefer to self-regulate how much sauce I use(call me high-maintenance). The atmosphere is fine and it is easy to get in and out in a small amount of time.

I love Q, but I rarely find BBQ that I don’t like. If you like hush puppies, get theirs as a side. They are among the best I’ve had. I have only tried the pulled pork sandwich so the next time I will need to get a sampler so that I try it all.

I used to work near here and found that Q’s made a great lunch-hour stop because it is quick and delicious. I always get the kid’s meal and it is more than enough for me. Seems like the more negative reviews on here are for ribs/brisket, but I have always stuck with the BBQ and never been disappointed. I don’t think this location is easily visible from the road, but it is across from the Olive Garden. The sweet(«sa-WEET») tea here is delicious!

At first, I really thought the BBQ was good. Then one day I went in there and thought about buying the spice rub. I looked at the ingredients and noticed that they used MSG, so I passed. Then recently an ad for their restaurant popped up on my Facebook feed for their spice rub, I made the comment that I would buy the rub if it didn’t contain MSG. They didn’t respond and I just noticed today that they deleted my comment and blocked me from commenting on their page. So I just want everyone to know that when they eat there that there is MSG in their food. There are plenty of good BBQ restaurants in Richmond that won’t hide what ingredients they use in their rubs/sauces.

Brisket sandwich was chopped not sliced. NBD just FYI. Taste was good but not remarkable. $ 6 something for just a sandwich with slaw on it. The brisket platter was chopped too, so that was odd. The two sides were in a plastic Dixie cup. Dixie, as in Pixie, as in tiny. The corn muffin was also small. The sides were very tasty as everyone comments. I was hoping to get a little more food for $ 11.75 Maybe they are watching out for our waistlines? If I go back, I’ll try the ribs, unless they list them as” Ribs for Babies” vs Baby Back ribs. JK. Buzz and Ned’s will likely get my next dollar when it comes to paying for bbQ in that part of town.

Oh lawdy so overpriced and overrated! Flat tasting sides, sauce, and meat. There was some smoke to the ribs, but I felt like that and maaaaaybe the corn pudding were the only things that were ok. Also priced on website are outdated, they increased the prices by a dollar or so. I’m not even sure because the price difference changes every time I go. I don’t think I’d come back.

Between 4 and 5 for me. 5 because it is fast and pretty cheap. 4 because it isn’t the best bbq in richmond. sauce does not touch buzz and neds. but the brisket is good and mac and cheese is delicious

Great ribs. Visible smoke ring, nice bark up top of rib, and just a little tug(not too tender). Excellent.

Really great BBQ. It’s not greasy and not too saucy. Addicting smoked chicken wings. Food came out fast and hot.

Love this place. The meat is actually very lean. I didn’t get the usual food coma after eating bbq. The pricing is easy to understand. The restaurant is self serviced, meaning no tip. Also, the environment is clean and neat. Recommended!

Delicious and consistently so! Their BBQ is always packed with in-mouth lasting flavors and the portions are perfect(BBQ places always tend to give too much.) The ranch dressing has a nice peppery tang and their salads are surprisingly very fresh-tasting. I’ve had pulled pork, chicken, and ribs and hush puppies and the baked beans from here with all menageries of sauces, and I could just eat it everyday for the perfect BBQ fix.

This review goes for all of the locations. What is there to say that hasn’t been said about Q? Tuffy is on a Nationally Syndicated show now, if that says anything. Great BBQ. Great ribs. The pulled pork is something that should be experienced. The pies, oh… the pies. Try the peanut butter pie. Please. So. Freaking. Good. So why doesn’t it get 5 stars? For one, this is in the top 3 joints in town, but not the best. Second, and this is going to come off kind of weird… but the Brisket is a matter of personal taste. If you are from Texas, you will absolutely hate the brisket. It is cooked more like a pork shoulder than a brisket. Its pulled apart, not sliced. Its god almost no bark… just not what you would think when you think brisket. THATBEINGSAID! I love the brisket, and that’s why I said my statement was going to be strange… because I love it sooo much(actually my favorite thing there) but I know a lot of people who don’t and feel alienated by the mere thought of it. Needles to say, if you ask many people in the Richmond area what their favorite place for BBQ is they will tell you that Q is the place, and I’m almost inclined to agree.

Q Barbeque has good bbq. My boyfriend and I split a 3 meat plate of brisket, bbq, and ribs with sides of fries and cole slaw($ 17.50). Everything was tasty, but nothing was mind blowing. I wouldn’t rave about any of the sauces as I prefer the vinegar based North Carolina style sauce, but that’s personal preference. Price point was a little high for the ambiance of the space and style of food, but the portions were appropriate. I personally prefer Sibley’s BBQ in Chester to Q and the spare ribs at Buz and Ned’s. I wouldn’t go out of my way just to get to Q Barbeque. That being said, if you’re close by and want BBQ, Q Barbeque is a solid option that won’t leave you disappointed.
