I used to love Red Lobster but my opinion has changed after a few recent visits. I don’t know if my palate has changed from getting older or if the quality of the food has went down but something is not the same. The food is just ok. With so many great restaurants in RVA this just seems like higher end Captain D’s. Their cheddar bay biscuits are still yummy as ever but the seafood is lacking. I came here twice in the last month and ordered different entrées but still the same mediocre outcome. The service is always fair and the staff friendly but those things can’t fill my stomach. I think when I have a seafood craving for now on I will venture elsewhere.

As expected, the food was magnificent. Great service as well. I’d come just for the biscuits however. Have to be careful however because you don’t want to fill up on them and not be able to enjoy your meal!

I hadnt been here in a really long time but met friends for a birthday lunch. the food was awesome. I tried the hickory salmon and it was yummy. it helped restore my liking for salmon. The cheese biscuits were good as always too. the drink special was a high tide. and you got to keep the glass.

I love love seafood, especially crabs & right now Red Lobster is doing a promotion for«Crab Fest!» I order the Crab Lovers Dream where you get snow crab legs, king crab legs, crab linguine & choice side. It was around $ 27& omg it didn’t disappoint. The crab meat was so sweet & succulent & very filling. I didn’t need to go to have 5 star seafood place to experience good crab legs.

We decided to try Red Lobster because I had a gift certificate. I was very pleased with the waitress, although I don’t remember her name. She took a little while when bringing our drinks and food, but the quality was very good. I had never tried the cheddar biscuits and they were delicious. The restaurant was close to closing so we didn’t get dessert, but everything else was great. A couple other tables walked in while we were there, so we could tell our server was busy, but she did her best to make sure everything was up to par. Everyone on the staff was very personable.

The food is usually very good… but… The service here has gone waaaay down hill and 2 out of the last 3 times here it took over an hour to get our food. We will be looking elsewhere.

I’ll be perfectly candid here: Red Lobster is my favorite chain restaurant of all, and this location was emblematic of everything the chain does right. While the chain itself was sold off from Darden recently, the high-quality experiences they provide have not changed one bit. Came here on a Friday evening, so we expected a wait. We didn’t expect to be quoted an hour and 15 minutes for a table though; that was longer than we had planned on, and in the end we decided to just deal with it. Thankfully, they took us much sooner than that. Our server was very friendly, make frequent callbacks, and ensured that our unlimited shrimp entrees(which is pretty much the only thing I ever order here, how can you beat infinite shrimp?) stayed filled. As anyone who has ever been to a Red Lobster can tell you, the food here is to die for. Best biscuits on the planet, great caesar salads, amazing shrimp entrees, you can’t go wrong. It was especially nice that they let you take your most recent shrimp order home with you if you can’t finish(most ‘unlimited’ deals at places require that you not take any leftovers when you’re finished). The ambiance here is always very classy for a chain, and it’s pretty much the perfect date spot(assuming your date is open to eating seafood of some variety). While the price of this place keeps it from being a regular dinner spot, it’s certainly a nice treat to reward yourself with at the end of a particularly challenging week. Overall: 4.5 stars — — — — - Pros: — Best food from a chain restaurant of any I’ve ever been to. — Consistently great service on every visit I’ve had. — Lots of parking, which is good considering how busy they tend to be. — Ambiance is very pleasant, and it’s not too loud either. Cons: — Waiting over an hour to eat somewhere is pretty crazy, even if it is an amazing place like this. — Pricing keeps this place a «special occasion only» venue.

First the negative. There was this weird smell as soon as you enter the restaurant. Other than that their décor is nice. The food was great. Their biscuits are yum! I ordered the current trio offer they have these days. I had almond salmon with lemon garlic shrimps and lobster mac and cheese. All were amazing :)

It’s a chain, so I am rating based on that. The food was as expected, good. Our waitress was fantastic! Ann(I think that was her name or that she will forgive me if I got it wrong) was very helpful and accommodating. She was extremely attentive. Over all a great dinner and nice experience. No complaints, so no reason to deduct stars.

Recently went here to see what all the hype about lobsterfest was all about. Like other reviewers, we too had to wait about 30 minutes and when we got to our table I noticed the dining room was only about ¾ full. The biscuits alone were enough to get me to come back again. I ordered the ultimate feast for my entrée. For the size lobster tail that you get, I feel that the dish is a little pricey. The crab legs and shrimp were all excellent but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the lobster tail. It wasn’t very flavorful and was a little too rubbery. Overall we had a pretty good experience.

This place is a joke. 15 cars in the lot. Completely empty dining room and you tell me a 25 minute wait. Your processed food isn’t that good.

Sometimes when you’re at home you just decide that you want some Cheddar Biscuits. Once that thought comes, there’s no turning back; Red Lobster is the only place for them. And the rest of the food is good too! –Food: I got the Shrimp Your Way with Popcorn Shrimp and Fried Shrimp. I chose a Caesar Salad for the salad and french fries for the side. My fiancée got a half portion of the Grilled Salmon Special of the day and a side of rice pilaf with a plain garden salad. We initially got 6 cheddar biscuits and asked for some more to bring home. Some highlights: — Cheddar Biscuits: Cheddary and delicious, I’d be lying if I said that this wasn’t the main reason we chose to dine here tonight. Never disappoints. And most of the time the staff is cool with you just asking for more, knowing that you’re just going to bring them home. — Popcorn Shrimp: Of the couple dozen times I’ve went to Red Lobster over the years, I’d say I get the popcorn shrimp about 90% of the time. It’s nothing spectacular, but I’ve never been let down by the battered little shrimps! This time was no exception. –Cost: Both of our meals together came to just shy of $ 30. For the amount of food it’s worth it, but I’m sure you can get better seafood somewhere else for the same price. –Atmosphere: I think they just renovated the interior of this Red Lobster, but this was our first time here so I’m not sure what changed. It’s more or less like all the Red Lobsters I’ve been to in Upstate NY, which isn’t a bad thing. –Service: Our experience was different than other reviewers in that our waitress was very pleasant. We came in at 5:40PM on a Monday, were seated immediately, and our food was served within 15 minutes or so. We were even home by 6:30PM. I’m not saying that this kind of speed is typical here, but I had no complaints at all. –Overall: I make it a habit not to eat at chain restaurants too much, but after all is said and done, I do admit to liking Red Lobster. Perhaps because it was always the restaurant we went to for family nights or for the occasional treat when I was a kid that I’ve grown to love it. As mentioned above, I’m sure you can get seafood of a higher quality many other places, but the cheddar biscuits and shrimp plates have yet to let me down. My fiancée also always enjoys the Wood Grilled fish specials and the fresh fish specials in general. We weren’t disappointed with this location, and actually it seems like one of the faster ones. And this is slightly location bias, but we can walk to this location, and that to me is always a plus. That aside, I still am comfortable giving this Red Lobster 4 stars and will return.

Went here because we had a gift card, I wasn’t expecting too much. I was so impressed by the friendly people there and the food was quite good! I think we will go back even without a gift and or coupon!

So decided to give Red Lobster a try. I was here once before but couldn’t remeber when was the last time I went. So some reason I was craving for seafood so def had to make a stop. I order one of the meal called Lobster bucket off the Lobsterfest deal they had going on. Looked very good so I order it. and order extra Lobster Tail. Overall the food was good but for the price I was paying for def not worth it. I realize I should of cancel the extra tail cause it was 10 bucks for two tails. I could understand the fact it was lobster and it was pricey. The biscuits were very good and cheesy. I didnt know how they did it but I did fell in love with it. I didnt like the calarmia i thought it was too crispy and not much soft flavor chew to it. Other than that, service was great and food was great. For price I paid not so much. I will be back but next time spending my money more wisely. I didnt had any problems so giving it a four stars. Everything was on point besides the calamira

Came to RL because my kid loves it. The food is pretty good and is always hot and tasty. The issue here is the wait time. No matter what time or day I stop by there is always a 30 to 35 minute wait and when you’re seated the place is half empty. I guess that’s how they can afford to stay open during these tough times; by stream lining their kitchen to have a small crew. The staff here isn’t that pleasant; I guess management isn’t doing such a great job at keeping them happy. My server, food runner, busser all had a frown on their head. They weren’t quick to clean tables either; we were sat next to a table that had a bunch of dirty dishes. I guess management isn’t on top of them. My overall experience wasn’t that great; but again the food was pretty good. I would give this place 4 stars if they ran the place better and I won’t give it 2 stars because their food is pretty good.

Went during their Seafood Feast and I definitely left satisfied. Always enjoy there Coconut Shrimp and Pineapple dip, and lets not forget the real reason anyone goes here the Cheese Biscuits. :) Sadly this visit made me knock off a star due to an extremely slow waitress… She would disappear for a long time when she goes to the back.

When it comes to this Red Lobster, I’ve learned from my past mistakes when it came to going there on Saturdays and anytime after 5:00pm. With that being said, I made two trips to this particular Red Lobster within the last two months and both experiences were pleasant. Both times I went to the restaurant during the lunch time and both times I had the same server named Ben. He was very personable and attentive. Of all the years I had been coming to Red Lobster, this server brought something to my attention. He was the first server who actually suggested that I substitute the salad for another side item. During the million times I went to Red Lobster in the past, servers never gave customers the option to substitute the salad for another side item. I remember years ago there was one time that I asked if I could get something in exchange for my salad and the server gave me a bowl of unsweetened apple sauce. OHHECKNO. Maybe those servers depended on customers to refrain from inquiring about it. But the food came out on time, was hot and service was good. FOURSTARS.

I have frequented Red Lobster just for their BISCUITS alone — buttery, salty, soft yet crispy, warm and fresh, mouth wateringly addictive!!! The 4 stars is mostly for their biscuits, I could easily make them alone my entire dinner! Second to the biscuits, my husband being a crab cake lover, finds their crab cakes quite good. We have tried crab cakes in several restaurants in Richmond and so far we have found the best crab cakes here. Service has always been good in my experience and we have always been given additional biscuits to go when requested. Their atmosphere is nice and peaceful and their booths are spacious and comfortable with a lot of privacy for conversation. I am a sea food lover and I must say, even though some times I find their dishes to be too similar and monotonous in flavour and yea slightly bland for my palate in addition to a menu that lacks variety, they have a couple of dishes and the biscuits that you can develope a craving for, that make us go back once in a while. They have reasonable options for the sides and salad dressings when it comes to entrees. For sea food, I find their prices to be very reasonable. I would recommend Red Lobster for an occasional sea food experience in a limited budget! And yes, I do see food differently there:)

Lobster Festtttt!!! I personally don’t know what everyone else’s problem is, since my trip to Red Lobster was splendid. First — the cheesy biscuits are as good as ever. Warm & salty, with a hint of cheese, I could eat these for my whole dinner. I usually limit myself to one and a half so I won’t be too full when the meal I paid for comes! And what a meal! I had the Bar Harbor dish, which consisted of a grilled lobster tail, grilled skewer of shrimp, and a sort of casserole of crab and shrimp with cheese. The casserole is what made me get the meal, but I personally didn’t like the overload of bread crumbs on top and found it to be too much, though I did eat all of the fish. The lobster and shrimp was absolutely delicious — it really had that woodsy, grilled taste. Our waitress was also very nice and attentive, constantly checking to see if we needed refills. I only wish the dishes were a bit cheaper — I don’t like paying over $ 20 for a meal but I did it for the lobster!
