We decided to give RFG one more chance when we moved to our new home and needed some living room furniture. Mike(I think) was our salesperson, and he was low-pressure and very helpful. He was also willing to haul us up to the top floor on a very cold day so our little guy could ride the train. We found some nice furniture within our budget, and encouraged my parents to shop here when they were in the market for a new mattress. I’d recommend checking it out.

This place is enormous! It’s a huge, three floor old warehouse, repurposed as a furniture store. They even still use the old style lifts. They’ve got everything you’d need to furnish your home; everything! During the Christmas season, its a hot spot with Santa and a great big train display upstairs. Honestly, its one of few, options for furniture in the area and the prices are… Okay. Mostly its just fun to go in and roam around, although the sales team doez tend to get a little aggressive. But I guess they’ve got to make a living. I wouldn’t go here for the«cheapest option» but would check them out for their variety.

I can’t believe the negative reviews posted here. My girlfriend and I went here today to check it out. This is an extremely cool old warehouse tastefully renovated to serve as a furniture store. The salespeople, ours was Greg, were present, helpful and friendly without being pushy. I highly recommend this store to anyone shopping for furniture or anyone who just appreciates history.

Went in on Friday 8÷23÷13 to look at dining room and living room furniture. Initial salesperson was Melissa who was nice. I saw an unframed canvas print sitting on easel that was not priced. I asked her about it and she wasn’t sure but thought it was about $ 200. I told her I couldn’t do that but she said she’d double check to be sure and went to find out. She brought a man back who checked it over then said he wasn’t sure either but made a phone call to find out. He told us it was $ 200. I told him Sorry, I couldn’t do that I was hoping it was closer to $ 100 since it was a seasonal picture I’d just use a few months a year. He then accused me of trying to buy it cheap so I could«Turn around and sell it on Ebay for $ 250.» I couldn’t believe his response. I didn’t ask him to take less. I didn’t even ask if there would be any sales. All I said was I couldn’t pay $ 200 for it. We turned around and left immediately. It’s been 2 days and I’m still surprised at the level of unprofessionalism exhibited. We have purchased many things here over the last decade, — living room furniture, two bedroom suites, mattresses/box springs, etc. It’s a large store with quite a bit of history. That’s the only reason I’m giving it 2 Stars instead of 1. In the future I will stick with Bullerdicks Furniture or Eaton Furniture. The larger selection at Richmond Furniture isn’t worth the rudeness.

Does anyone under the age of 60 who isn’t desperate buy furniture here? Unilocal tells me that there are young(er) local customers, but I have yet to see any evidence. From my frequent perch at a coffee shop across the street, I have observed the following: 1. There is ALWAYS a sale on with every window plastered with sale posters. Sale on what? No idea. 2. They are VERY patriotic, with 10+ flags flying on the outside of the building that are taken down and carefully rolled up every night. Thank god the furniture store follows the flag code. 3. No one actually updates the neon signs in the windows. 4. Their taste in music runs towards Sousa marches and old player-piano style music, which is played on outside speakers for the whole block to enjoy. All day. From my shopping trips here, I have observed the following: 1. This shop is as much tourist destination as shopping destination, but it isn’t much of either. There are a few displays geared towards visitors, mostly up on the third floor.(Giant bunny? Check. Christmas town? Check. 20 foot tall chair? Check. Superfluous suit of armor? Check. Model house made of coins? Check.) 2. Their stock and what I want to buy do not overlap.(For example, my mattress hunt started here but did not end here because they don’t carry Sealy mattresses despite having neon Sealy signs in the windows.) 3. Sales people are either over-eager or really dismissive. The first time my love and I visited, we were ignored for our entire two hour romp through the store. This suited me just fine because I wasn’t shopping, but we were given the same treatment when we were shopping for mattresses. After finally getting the attention of a sales person, they wouldn’t let go. We were pushed HEAVILY to try mattresses that were far, far out of our price range because we were there. Sorry, dude, the upsell won’t work on a pair of grad students paying cash. Cash = limited = budget = your upsell won’t work. 4. The store is rather labarnythian. If you get separated from your party, it could easily take an entire afternoon to meet up again. It’s like Ikea in an antique building with sub-par lighting. I appreciate the Furniture Gallery’s efforts to keep the Depot District up and running. I appreciate their investment in Richmond. I appreciate all of their clean-up work and good PR for this part of town. However. This is not the shop for me, and I’m not sure I’ll return. Accessibility notes: Freight elevators are available upon request. Restrooms are minimally accessible. Doorways are narrow and open out. No Braille signage or price tags.

This is one of the best spots to visit in Richmond. Even if you’re not furniture shopping, it’s worth a trip here to check out the awesome building and fun decorations they have. My 2 year old daughter loves the train on the top floor. You’ve probably heard their slogan of «I’ll SAAAAVE you money!» And what’s great is they really do. My first furniture experience here I went in with a budget of $ 2,000 and told them exactly what I needed. They were able to knock several hundred dollars of multiple items to give me quality furniture that fit my budget. I expected that we would have to skip out on a few items with our limited budget, but they worked with us and made us very happy. This was several years ago, and I haven’t bought new furniture from any other company since. I’m a lifelong customer now!

I’ve been here multiple times and bought furniture here on numerous occasions. I’ve always had a helpful staff member. I think the best part of this place is the building itself. It is giant! you’ll spend a good couple of hours just looking around. The top floor is great for kids with a room just dedicated to a enormous train set. The slogan here is «I’ll save youu moneyy!» by the man with the bad mustache on all the billboards and radio ads. I don’t know if they really actually save you money. Every time i’m here they go back and say let me see what I can do for you, and when they return they give you some price that’s maybe $ 40 bucks cheaper. It’s the usual salesman pitch and tricks. The good thing here is the selection so usually things will be in stock and delivery is prompt and no messing with ordering things from catalogs like most furniture places in the area.

The cheapo furniture actually works out okay and the staff are generally quiet good. I’m guessing from the other reviews that people are more interested in the building than the furniture. Too bad they missed quite a few other buildings in Richmond’s past. I don’t mind the furniture, and I’ve found a few things from time to time that suited me and they’re still fine but it’s better to get a second opinion in Beavercreek, Ohio(N. Fairfield Rd.) at Ashley Furniture(one of the brands this place carries), Value City Furniture, and others along the road. I’d rather buy in Richmond because the town needs the business, but I won’t buy inferior products just to support the town. On the other hand, buying from Bullerdicks’ limited range of products is difficult and expensive. Some of the salespeople are just in a hurry to make a sale, but Andy Smith was good. It’s a good store, just don’t be caught up in the building, if you’re intent on buying.

This is one of the treasures of Wayne County, Indiana. We’ve bought lots of furniture here and are fascinated, as is everyone who sees it for the first time, with how historic and beautiful the building is. And it is MASSIVE! A lot of this old building remains the same and you can picture what it was like as a warehouse. A bonus is learning all about the history of Richmond and seeing some neat collections the owner has put on display.

I love this place. I have never actually bought anything here(they either didn’t have what I wanted, more contemporary or transitional items, or I found something cheaper), but the store/building itself is worth visiting just to see it. There are historical exhibits tucked into the nooks and crannies, and there is a massive train set that they set up for the Christmas season. They also appear to have decent sales. So if you like history, architecture, or furniture, stop by if you have an hour to kill! Oh, I have always received great customer service when I have stopped in, and I believe they sometimes have free popcorn or something for visitors,

The first time I went here I really liked visiting. I’ve been going there a while because they often have community events in the area. While enjoying the atmosphere, I realized that this place must rarely sell their furniture because there has never been anything new. The furniture they had out there three years ago, still sits, slowly merging with the antiques which decorate the store. I must also note that I rarely was approached by an actual salesperson. To give this place 5 out of 5 stars is implorable

Whenever I eat at Little Sheba’s, this is usually the perfect counterpart before eating there. It’s located in a warehouse-like building that once housed a massive hardware store from the 19th century into the 1970s, and the building was restored in 2004-05.(website has much more history + info about the building, if you’re curious) No clue how good price-wise the furniture and antiques are compared to other stores, but it’s just fun for the heck of it to just browse around the store and enjoy. And for anyone who doesn’t wanna venture all the way down to the Cincy area IKEA for furniture, or to Cincy or Dayton-area antique stores, this is certainly an excellent local option if you’re trying to shop for furniture or antiques. Funny too how I always seem to get at least momentarily lost, whenever I walk around this store. But anyway, this place is an absolutely great counterpart before having a meal at Little Sheba’s, especially since it’s right across the street. I’ll be interested in seeing how their expansion into a couple storefronts across the street(and slightly down the street from Sheba’s) goes, the next time I’m in Richmond.
