Great sushi lunch special! And my kids loved the Finding Nemo kids meal. It had delicious teriyaki salmon, veggies, rice that looked like a little animal, and an orange that looked like a bear.

Golden Tiger is the best Asian creation I have ever tasted. Goes great with an ice cold Sapporo! My wife loves their rainbow roll. Great food, great service, always a great meal. Keep up the good work Sushi Box!

This was my first time at Sushi Box. I was flying solo as my wife was out of town. The staff was really friendly and when I said it was my first time here they made me an appetizer of stuffed jalapeños with sashimi tuna, cream cheese and tempura. It was awesome. For my entrée I had a combination box which I took a picture of. It was more than plenty and my entire meal was $ 15.74!?!

Really good food! I was in the Richmond area attending a conference and before my 2-hr drive home, I decided to treat myself to good sushi. I relied on good ‘ol Unilocal and Unilocal did not disappoint! The service was good — wait staff were all very friendly, helpful and super nice. The sushi chefs were also very nice as well.(I sat at the bar) Needless to say, I will be visiting again when I’m in the Richmond area next time!

The food is great. You can eat inside(very posh) or outside under a canopy. Fresh seafood, sushi, and soup. — Wish they had the choice of Quinoa or Brown Rice. – Also, imitation crab is in almost all the sushi rolls. Imitation crab is minced fish meat from several different fishes leftovers with fillers, gluten, artificial colors, sorbitol, hydrolyzed soy protein, and disodium inosinate — forms of MSG, which are excitotoxins that are horrible chemicals that wreak havoc on the human bodies. If you want to read more on why excitotoxins are dangerous check out the book on amazon: «Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills». I would have given 5 stars. However, the roll that I order WITHOUT imitation crab had slivers to fill in spaces :( Otherwise, great place.

We were invited over here for lunch. The restaurant looks clean and well-kept from the outside, and you can expect the same as you enter the restaurant. As you enter the restaurant the staff greets you with a hearty«Irashaimase» which is «welcome» in Japanese, but don’t expect to get any more Japanese from them afterwards because they don’t actually speak it. But I suppose it adds to the atmosphere of the restaurant. There are booths and tables for parties, and a bar with stool you can sit on for drinks and watch the chefs make sushi. The menu has a wide selection of sushi, udon, donburi, donkatsu and other food that you wouldn’t really find in other sushi joints. Some in our party ordered the udon, while I ordered the Unagi donburi and my little brother got the donkatsu. They gave us the usual palate cleanser miso-soup before the main course, which was good and had plenty of flavor. The Udon came with a side of fried sushi rolls which I thought was good. It gives you that option to still eat sushi rolls even if you ordered something else. The donburi came in a small wooden lunchbox-like plate but the quantity was adequate. Eel is usually a bit rich and on the heavy side, but the bowl included pickled radishes which helped balance it out. The service was good and staff regularly came by to refill the water and remove empty plates and other trash. The price of the food was adequate I thought compared to other sushi places, and for the quality of the food you get there it is well worth it. I recommend Sushi Box to anyone in the area craving a wide selection of japanese food that is both well prepared and fair on the wallet.

Great sushi and great customer service! My husband and I come a few times a month on our sushi date nights and we’re always taken care of! We brought the little one this time, and they made it great for her too. Thanks Sushi Box! #Yum

This place is awesome. It is my favorite sushi place in Richmond. My second is Sushi 101 but it is a very tight race. Sushi Box is a little bit more reasonable price wise. I have been 3 times and the rolls are always so fresh and good. The only thing that I find different is every roll comes with soup and salad. I usually prefer to eat a few smaller rolls so I get a variety instead of one large one. Sushi Box has some good specials also. It is a little bit hard to find but it is built into the strip near Firebirds. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This place is customer oriented and delicious. I ordered a variety of sushi and the fish was very fresh. They served the traditional salad and soup with the meal. The whole place does a great job of making you feel welcome. If there was one thing I would change is it would have been nice to have the option of brown rice with sushi.

I had high expectations about this place due to the rave reviews, and yet I was still blown away by the sushi. It was the best sushi that I’ve had in my life, period. And my sister and I literally tried 8 sushi places this week for spring break. We got the baked salmon roll and the dynamite roll. The baked salmon roll was my favorite, it just tasted so perfect and amazing; I did not know that sushi could taste so good. Their hibachi salmon meal(non sushi) was good but nothing too special. Same with the green tea ice cream. The salsa tasted especially good, the miso soup good but average. Overall if you want the best sushi you have had in your life, come here. I know this will definitely be my #1 new favorite spot.

Love these guys! As far as we are concerned, this is the best sushi on southside. We get take out at least weekly and the rolls are awesome. Eating in always is a good experience, as the staff is excellent and the ambiance nice.

Sushi here is amazing. I had the caterpillar roll, literally the best sushi I’ve ever had. Ever. The miso soup was also very good, and the salad with their special dressing was AMAZING. I could drink that dressing! Prices very reasonable as well. I paid about twelve dollars for a great, large meal.

First time here and I will definitely be back! I recommend the firecracker roll. There are so many items to choose from and all look and sound so tasty that you have a hard time deciding what to order. A laid back atmosphere with kind, courteous and helpful staff. Definitely worth a trip or two!

Very good Sushi Restaurant next to Firebirds … 4.5 stars The restaurant is intimately small but serves good food with friendly and efficient service. They are busier during lunchtime and you probably get more bang for the buck during lunch but it’s good to visit anytime. Other than sushi rolls, I like bento box as well as gyoza bowls and tempora udon.

Only been once so far, but we had a very good experience. It is a tiny little place dominated by the sushi bar itself. We were greeted by the sushi chef in Japenese, which I always find comforting. Started with the cucumber salad, and gyoza. Very good. Not sure what day and time it was but they had half-priced appetizers. One kid(5) got their kids meal and really enjoyed it. The other(3) ordered a bowl of udon and did pretty well with it. Then we also ordered a couple of sushi rolls, spicy tuna and some tempura roll(my daughter picked) and both were very good and everything was done well. I got a salmon bento and everything in there was great. I think my wife had a couple more pieces of sushi. Everything was quite good and my oldest(5) enjoyed her kids meal and also liked the tempura roll and even ate one of my spicy tuna rolls after she wiped off a bit of the spicy sauce on her napkin. We’ll definitely be going back and I’ll make sure to freshen up on my Japanese so I can respond appropriately.
