The Shoe Box is probably one of the most gorgeous shoe stores I have ever been in. First off, there isn’t a shoe store on the east coast that has this big of a selection of shoes. From flats to 5 inch heels you will find everything you are looking for. The jewelry is great as well. It’s my first stop when I have a wedding or gala to attend. The staff is awesome too! They are good looking and dress well and very helpful. I actually want their advice which is really important when you are buying a high fashion item. I am a Fashion Editor by the way so I totally know what I am talking about. A++ to The Shoe Box!!!

I. Love. Shoes. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the best luck at The Shoe Box. The shop carries some high end brands, and while I’m not against spending a pretty penny on a quality product, this shop just seems to fall a little short for me. The selection isn’t super extensive and the way it’s laid out doesn’t add much to the atmosphere of the store. Additionally, it definitely seems as though the products are geared more towards a demographic a bit older than myself. I want to love this shoe store, but it’s only A-OK for me because I felt a little awkward being in the shop. Having worked in retail(in upscale clothing boutiques), customer service is of the utmost importance to me. I understand that potential customers can sometimes feel intimidated when entering a high-end store, so I am always hyper aware of this when I’m shopping myself. That said, it takes a lot to make me feel uneasy while shopping, but for some reason, I just didn’t feel comfortable here. Perhaps it’s because I’m younger and don’t fit the mold of their typical customer. Perhaps I just hit it on an off day. Whatever the reason, it wasn’t love at first sight. But I guess this is a good thing for my credit card. If I were strolling around Libbie & Grove, I might pop into this store again, but I don’t think I’d make a special trip.

The Shoe Box is one of Richmond’s most high end shoe stores. You’ll find awesome pairs from designers like Emilio Pucci, Juicy Couture, Nannette Lepore, Beverly Feldman and Giuseppe Zanotti. There’s also a few high-end jewelry pieces and some accessories. I love browsing here, but the prices are often out of my budget. I have often scored some great deals on sales, though. Libbie and Grove hosts an annual sidewalk sale, and The Shoe Box ofter offers super mark downs on end-of-season styles. I scored an awesome pair of Pucci wedges for around $ 50 one year. They also host other sales throughout the year. Check out the Libbie and Grove web site, follow it one twitter or like it on Facebook to find out about events.
