Thistles

Thistles is one of the few places in Richmond where I think you can get really high-​quality leather gifts. When I was there I was searching for a leather notepad, the type that is actually more like a small portfolio, where you can refill the paper inside and also keep a pen and business cards… but its smaller than an 8.5×11″ notebook, making it ideal to carry around the office.
I know that sounds specific, but I was looking for a gift for a recipient with very specific taste. And after going to half a dozen places (including Staples and one or two other office supply stores) I found one here at Thistles.
Yes, it was a little pricey– definitely three figures. But it was genuine leather, soft and rich and a delicious shade of green apple. I believe it was hand-​sewn, and I’m pretty sure it was made to last a lifetime. I tied a pink ribbon around it, and it was the ultimate gift.
I also saw some items I wouldn’t mind someone giving ME as a gift, including some really unique jewelry and a leather wallet that would be heaven to own. They brands they carry are pretty high-​end and everything in the store is high-​quality.
