Best food truck in the downtown area. Everything on the menu is tasty and reasonably priced

This cart is famous among those at MCV. I try to go whenever I know I can beat the lunch rush since a line always forms for this place. The cart doesn’t get in til around 11:30 or so whenever I’ve tried to get in line earlier. the food. I typically get the chicken caesar wrap and it’s always made right! I love their homemade chips — salty & full of flavor. The greek pasta salad is so good too! I’ve also gotten the london broil and caprese on focacia. So yummy! It’s always a treat whenever I get food from this place. the service. Always nice and willing to answer any of my questions when it comes to the menu. It can take awhile to get the food ready, but they do make it right in front of you and it’s well worth the wait! This is the food cart I’m gonna miss the most when I leave MCV!

Chipotle chicken, pesto chicken, caprese, and the london broil are all of my favorite paninis from Toasties. It’s awesome that a cart can still cook chicken just right, tender and juicy! I’m not much of a chip person, but their homemade chips are ok, sometimes a tad too salty(and I consider myself to have a pretty salty tongue), but I love the greek pasta salad. I’ve been known to just get 4 side orders of it for lunch. They also cater! It’s the cart with the longest line on the MCV campus for a reason!

One of my favorite food carts. Once you eat there, you get why this cart will have a line of 20 people while other carts nearby have no wait at all. I have enjoyed each panini I have ordered here. And their home-made potato chips put this place over the top!

Everyone loves Toastie’s! Their cart located on VCU’s medical campus draws countless students and faculty during the lunch rush everyday — including me! They are known for their delicious paninis and wraps. My favorite paninis are the Chipotle Chicken and the Pesto Chicken(on the menu regularly). During the spring they feature a West Coast BLT and it is absolutely to die for! It’s a BLT but with hefty slices of avocado and grilled chicken. So tasty! Their wraps are also delicious. I’ve had the Ranch Chicken wrap — very simple but incredibly flavorful. Also try their Greek pasta salad on the side! You won’t be disappointed. When I’m done with pharmacy school, it’s Toastie’s I’ll miss the most!

Get the flatbread! Its an extra 25 cents, but totally worth it! We(classmates and I) get lunch here at least once a week. These paninis are amazing, and they come with homemade potato chips! They have a decent selection of sandwiches and breads to choose from. My favorite is the caprese, on the flatbread of course. One strange thing is that they call the flatbread«ciabatta» which is typically a very thick bread. But whatever, its amazing!

This is my absolute favorite cart downtown! Fresh, made-to-order paninis that just taste delicious! My favorite panini is the Pesto Chicken – the chicken is moist and flavorful. The portions are pretty decent, as are the prices(~$ 7 for a panini and drink). I’d recommend asking them to switch out the chips for the pasta though because the chips are just too salty(for my taste) and are sometimes burnt. Their brownies are also to die for! I agree with Matthew, if you don’t get out there early(11:30−12ish) then expect to be in a line for up to 20 minutes. And if you come too late(I think they leave around 2pm), then there aren’t many options left.

This cart is one of the best downtown. Hot/Fresh panini’s made to order. Get here early because once people start lining up it can take a bit of time. And the only reason this place got four stars is because of the wait that sometimes ensues. The wait, even though up to 20 minutes, is completely worth it because the magic that happens when you take that first bite is amaze-balls. My all time favorite panini is the california blt on multi-grain with fresh avacado on it… while they don’t always have this, it usually can be found on the specials board from time to time. My other favorite, the caprese, is on the regular menu and is very refreshing for a delicious lunchtime treat! If you’re downtown at MCV, definitely try and get one of their amazing panini’s…it’s well worth the wait. Take care & savor it up!
