Prime Rib was simply amazing. Loaded French fries had some of the best bacon I’ve ever tasted. Service was great as was the experience. I would definitely recommend it.

We love to boat here for a delicious Miami vice and the ozark mountain smoked trout. We had buffalo wings last time, as well. They were pretty good. The prime rib sandwich is always good as well. Beautiful view from outside is always nice.

Beautiful rustic atmosphere. Very enjoyable meal. My daughter has a nut allergy and the waitress went out of her way to make sure what we were ordering was safe, which was very appreciated. Pork chop and brisket were great.

We service is excellent and so is the view. They have a nice drink selection and wine list with some local wines. If you order the pulled pork nachos, be sure you have help eating it as it is huge and delicious. Everything from the bread basket to the mashed potatoes were delicious. Our group had the baked chicken, bison meatloaf, pork, and prime rib and everyone was satisfied. Highly recommend this place. Save a piece of bread to feed the fish at the end of the dock.

Devil’s Pool is located on the grounds of Big Cedar Lodge and we were eager to try it as we had heard, and seen, great reviews about it. Since we were staying on the grounds, we called ahead and they put us on the top of the waiting list and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Our waitress was new, it was her first week on the job, and we could tell she wasn’t too knowledgeable but we worked with it. It was very weird to see her by herself, usually trainees are with someone for the first week. We loved the restaurant but because of the following, this is why its not getting 5 stars: The menu isn’t big but it has a good selection. We made our orders(I got the nachos, my husband got soup) we noticed that people around us were being served burgers, fries, etc, which were not on the menu we had gotten. We finally asked the waitress about it, and with her being new she had to inquire herself, and we found out that it was the bar menu and it should have been offered to us. My husband requested to see it and realized it looked more to his liking than the original and luckily was able to change his order. Food came, nice and hot, and we all ate it up. Then came time for the bill. For some reason we were charged $ 10 more than what our bill added up to be while my parents paying their own tab did not. We never got a straight answer on why and it got to be a mess because we asked 2 people and got 2 different stories — one about it being the tip in case we didn’t tip. So we waited a few days and it ended up showing correctly on our CC statement but very weird on why our bill got it and the other did not. For this being our first time at Big Cedar, it was a great experience. I hope that the trainees get a bit more training before set out on their own so hopefully the above doesn’t happen again.

Lovely location. Entrees were great but regret the app/dessert choices. Didn’t care for the cheese/veg/ham/hummus appetizer. «White bean» hummus just isn’t a good idea. Husband had KC strip with savory mushroom sauce over mashed potatoes. I had catfish with pickled pepper garnish and an awesome slaw. The brownie/cookie dessert with ice cream was too dense.

The brunch at Devil’s Pool Restaurant is wonderful! There is a wide variety of foods including catfish, ribs, chicken, pancakes, pastries, biscuits, salad, fruit, vegetables and the best omelet I have ever had! It was a bit pricey, but it was well worth it!

The place is definitely a lodge with a cool atmosphere and lots of animals. Our server seemed a bit nervous by our large group but overall did fine. The food was good but nothing that blew us away. The best part of the meal was the dessert. I had the devils pool sundae and that was amazing. Definitely large enough to share.

We had a great meal there tonight. Pros: the food was delicious and the server and hostesses were friendly and well versed in the menu. It was super filling and very flavorful. Cons: Not an inexpensive meal. They should figure out a way to give a better view those who dine inside. The signs to get to the restaurant were very confusing. You need to know where you’re going. Would definitely go again when in the area.

Good stuff. Decent Prime Rib. But I’d just assume sit down stairs at the Bar and order from the restaurant menu(which is an option) But for dinner with the family it was nice

So you arrive around 6 pm and are hungry from the drive and just want to unwind and have a beverage. Why the heck not try a place with a name like this? Our server, Amanda, was so cool. It was slow and she was super nice and full of spunk. I like to drink, so I had a tough choice of what to order. I ended up going with a Sam Adams. She replied with«Would you like a glass» and I replied with«I know in classy establishments you should do so, but I just want to drink from the bottle» she replied with«Do you see the décor around you? In a place like this, it is ok to drink from the bottle» Score one for Amanda. One of the specials they had was Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with seasoned carrots and mashed potatoes. It sounded good so both my friend and I ordered the same thing. While waiting for our food and enjoying the décor, Amanda comes out with a basket of cheesy garlic biscuits and butter. They were good and hit the spot, but a little bland. That is all good. Our food came out and the portions were huge. We had a whole chicken on there. Ok, not really, but we had quite a bit. I ended up eating a breast and the carrots and mashed potatoes. We ended up taking the rest back to the room with us. While I did enjoy their food, their prices are little on the higher end. Totally worth the visit.

Unilocal is wrong. This is open and @ Big Cedar in Ridgedale, M0. Devil’s Pool Restaurant deck overlooks a large kiddy pool. I found the view from the deck more enjoyable than the joke about the name(that says something because I liked the joke– Devil’s/kiddy pool). The free bread was flavorful with cheese and the free cracker had various seeds for flavor. Everyone was pleasently surprised. My party of three shared the bowl of chili. This was unlike any chili I have ever had because it was made with smoked prime rib. While I have had spicier or more complex chili, I am not sure if I have had more enjoyable or better quality. This can also be served as part of room service. We also had the special– pulled pork and cole slaw on ciabata sandwich(ordered more sauce) and seasoned fries. This was very good and if I had not had the phenomenal chili I would had enjoyed it more.(The chili really raised the bar) My group did not want to leave the deck. The outdoor seating has a great view of the pool, a pond and the lake. Later that night, @ Buzzard Bar that shares menu, I also enjoyed the appetizer shrimp dish, but was buttery for me(oh well vacation and in the Ozarks). This was served on small toasts around fresh greens. I did enjoy the indulgence, plus gave me an exuse to thin out the blood with a beer(medicinal). (Added later) I do not know what I was thinking about ordering shrimp! I got the smoked trout and it was great(pic). The fish was served with capers, sauce, greens and a lemon. The fish was well flavored. I also had the Bison Burger with the best thick cut smoked bacon and a generous amount of cheese. This was very good. The smoked prime rib is excellent if you liked smoked meat. I actually like my prime rib medium rare where I can really taste the meat. I really wish I tried the grilled trout, but ran out of time. I would order the fish, chili or nachos, bison buger, and smoked prime rib. The menu is suppose to be updated with seasonal food.
