The best thing going for Dog and Pony is its location and the outdoor tables. Find a nice day and sit outside, in the middle of our town, and it’s a great pleasure. The menu is brief and simple but I thought the pricing was a bit high for the quality of food. We ordered teriyaki wings. They brought out the wings but forgot the flavoring. Seems like they just forgot to finish the order since the only other available wings had barbecue sauce on it. They forgot to add the coating! A first for me. My wife ordered a dish and asked the waitress to make sure they put the sauce on the side– she said it twice because of past experiences and she is very polite when she makes that request. The dropped off her dish and before we could say«you put the sauce on the food» the server was gone and no where to be found. In light of the errors we just ate it but reminded the waitress of the error. The food is simple, the menu is brief and more akin to a bar and grill than a restaurant. The burger is 12 dollars and ordinary with each additional topping a dollar — you want onion and slice tomatoes and you got a $ 14 dollar ordinary burger. But the view of our town, the beauty and simplicity of it, and the fact this is the only place you can now sit and watch the everyday life may make you put up with $ 60 lunch(no alcohol and only one iced tea here) for ordinary food served with a bit of indifference.

Ate here while visiting family. It’s a very cool spot, the service was great and the food was good. My favorite was the pretzel w/cheese fondue, the cauliflower flat bread, and the roasted corn. Everything was delicious!

Dog and pony has become my go to place recently. They have amazing service and the food is wonderful. Check out their ahi nachos and fried chicken sandwich. John has been an amazing waiter and he laughs at our jokes so we will be going back. I’d love to tell you about their brownie but I can’t for fear it’ll sell out by the time I get there.

This is the deal. On Main St. the pickings are few in terms of decent restaurants. Side streets better for an improved experience in dining. This place is a REASONABLY priced restaurant for a decent lunch. Nothing exceptional but a nice clean place to stop on a stroll down Main St. The salads are tasty and the burger flavorful. Will return for dinner at some point and update the review.

Second time we’ve been here and food and atmosphere has been great both times. Sunday lunch/brunch time so some of us had breakfast and some lunch; everyone was very happy with their choices from the pretzel burger to baked eggs skillet to egg white omelette. Everything was cooked perfectly, served hot, and tasted great! Host and waitstaff were very welcoming, friendly, and responsive. One person in our party has a developmental disability and they were treated with kindness, patience, and respect(which is how it always should be but isn’t always the case in other places) which made us all be able to relax and enjoy our celebratory lunch! We will be back the next time we are in town, thanks!

Went to Dog and Pony for drinks and snacks. The service is good and friendly staff. Nothing noticeable except for those funky green chairs. What’s up with that? Hopefully, they will change those and make it consistent across the dining area. Heard they have bands that play during the weekend. Maybe will check that out next time.

Truly mediocre strip steak and so-so chicken. Too bad, because the atmosphere is nice and it’s not too loud. We might return for drinks, but the food is meh.

I’ve been here a few times under the new name/management. The food has been perfectly fine. Typical American style food with a decent brunch menu in a town with few brunch options. Service has been totally fine but not incredible. My major complaint is their wall of quotes on the left side of the bar. Many of them are inocuous(«if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all») but the majority are rather snide. «Before asking if our restaurant is kid friendly, ask if your kid is restaurant friendly»; «brunch is great unless you’re the one serving it»(maybe don’t be open for brunch if you’re so unhappy to be there you put it in chalk on a giant wall?). This really put a sour taste in my mouth and makes me question management a little bit. I will now hesitate to come here and recommend to friends.

We were made to feel incredibly welcome. Our party was accommodated during an incredibly busy evening. Great service. Great food.

My first time here today. Had lunch here with a friend this afternoon and it was very nice. We were able to sit outside on this beautiful day, so I didn’t see what inside was like. The waitress we had was very nice, left us nothing to complain about. The food was good but had A LOT of salt. I had a burger and my friend had a turkey wrap. Both good, but not something I would go out of my way for. I’ll go back and try something else if I’m in the area.

I’ve eaten here but cannot recall what I ate, either way it didnt prompt me to leave a review. Friday night we headed there with 5 ladies to have some drinks after our dinner. They had a guy playing, a bunch of middle aged couples at the bar, some more tipsy than others. We walked into the dining area which was empty and started sitting down. A grey haired waiter appeared and asked all pissed off whether he can help us. I said we were celebrating 2 birthdays. He stares at me as if I have 2 heads and loudly informs me that kitchen is closed. I mean its 10:30, I kind of figured. Really really annoying welcome. No hello, how are you this evening. We were all in our heels and little clutches, its not like a random drunken group just slobbered all over your table. Not happy. But he did eventually served us drinks.

Horrible. Couldn’t get our order right, nobody cared so we left. They even charged us for the items they didn’t get right. No manager. This place just sucks. Don’t waste your time or money.

Good for drinks and a snack. Not going to reconsider for dinner. Food and service were ok on a pretty slow Saturday night. My view, if you can’t execute on a Saturday night you ain’t never gonna Don’t overthink this one. The buzz on the street is legit.

Dog and Pony seems to have selected an unfortunate name. It is nice on the surface but below it is just smoke and mirrors. Ate there Saturday Evening and left disappointed mostly in the service. Waitress was often not found and forgot things. In turn, her server also had things so messed up he brought our food to the wrong table. After we made note of the problem she became cold and ultimately sarcastic when wishing us a good night. Food was just Okay. Would think twice about going back.

Had a wonderful lunch outside today. Ordered the grapefruitini. Very strong and delicious. Friend ordered a beer which came in a mason jar — very nice touch. Lunch came out promptly. Chicken and waffles were awesome! Crunchy and well seasoned. Pork belly hash was awesome. It came in a cute little cast iron and big fried eggs on top. A perfect brunch meal all in all with great touches! I’m very excited to come back for dinner.

Bissell house is no more, now called Dog and Pony. Like a prior reviewer I had high hopes for this new establishment and was disappointed. Menu extremely weak. If you are looking for any variety whatsoever then look elsewhere. The seating layout has changed since prior establishment, and not for the better. Gone are the booths where you could enjoy a private meal and in their place are cheap feeling metal chairs and tables placed haphazardly. The seating would feel more appropriate in one of the burger joints. No childrens menu, and a wait staff dressed in t-shirts not paying much attention to the 2 tables with guests. In the end we dropped 85– for a very basic meal(hamburger, crab cakes, and pasta for Jr.) in a very unwelcoming atmosphere. Suggestions: 1. Get some tablecloths and wooden chairs with padding to lift things up a bit inside 2. Lose the t-shirts for the waitstaff 3. Put some daily specials on the menu 4. Come up with a kids menu, it’s pretty silly to give a 5 year old a bucket sized bowl of pasta 5. Put some bread and butter on the tables, it takes quite a while to get your food so keep your customers nibbling while they wait 6. Your food is not very good, focus on quality and caring about what you serve. Pricing isn’t as important when people are blown away by their meal. Updated: Apparently they took one of my suggestions and now have a kids menu. Must be too recent of a change to have a printed one, but Linda R. reports that they at least have a verbal one. Nice to see that they are able to accept constructive criticism, good sign and hopefully they will listen to their customers and be successful. From Linda R. «The server verbalized the kids menu — not sure what the rude other reviewer was talking about because they do have a kids menu« btw: Linda sorry you thought I was rude, I obviously felt pretty strongly about my experience there but certainly did not intend the be rude.

The old Bissell House is now reopened for business as Dog and Pony. Gone are the booths and tables are now more open air as all the sight lines are opened. New bar stools as well, the beautiful floor remains. Had a great meal last night as we returned to the restaurant and as always tried(successfully) to sit in the upper well which affords privacy and fosters conversation. Had the ahi tuna taco appetizer(awesome, but needs more taco) some salads and flat breads and the philly cheesesteak. Bar selection continues to be great. My Bbq flat bread was filling and tasted great. Outdoor seating including some covered seating(it was raining) is one of the highlights of this location. A solid choice returns.
