Best bacon egg and cheese on a bagel! Delicious cream cheese flavors also. I love the iced tea with mint and lemon.

I use to go here all the time. Yesterday I baught a bagel and a drink and the guy gave me the wrong change back. I didn’t noticed until later that night when I went to pay for pizza ordered. It was my fault for not checking but the guy said all draws where right and I was wrong and he didn’t short me $ 10. It was rude the way he said he checked everything himself. I will not go here anymore. Looks like Tom Toms just got another customer. I just wish they opened earlier like steves.

For a quick and easy meal, Steve’s Bagels & Café has perfect to salads. Today we got the Roasted Vegetable Orzo, with chunks of yummy cheese, just right bite sized grilled veggies. I think there is eggplant, red onions, peppers in it. Than we had a HUGE portion of the Arugula & Panko Chicken w/lemon dressing. This is so delicious, the lemon dressing adds just the right amount of lemony taste to the panko chicken. The parmesan cheese slides off and sticks to the argula salad. All in all a perfect grab and go meal. RDG Open Group

Good bagels and coffee, staff and owner are fabulous. The only knock for me is there should be a hint of music playing. There are also a few tables out front, nice for this time of year. Cream cheese flavors are wonderful, my new go to place in the morning.

Solid bagel place, nothing special but it holds its ground. Dense chewy bagels, a nice place to stop by for a snack before work.

A confessed bagel maniac stuck far out in the ‘burbs mid-morning… a potentially horrifying scenario. But lo! Out of the mist appears Steve’s Bagels, and this NYC guy is a happy breakfast eater. While they may not be the densest bread I’ve ever had, they are a pleasure to eat. Topping selection is good — hello neufchatel cream cheese — and there are other baked goodies on offer(the pumpkin bread could use some raisins), as well as yogurt and a nice battalion of coffees. Plenty of tables abound, and hopefully some local chatterbox won’t dominate the atmosphere with endless blah-blah-blah. I’d return here without a second thought to feast on another egg bagel.

They need to upgrade this place. The women’s bathroom has had a please knock sign for over a year because of a broken lock, the toilet doesn’t flush and it’s dirty. Staff is very lovely

Bagelman in Danbury is so much better. These bagels are dense, small, and tasteless With that hard shell” that is surprising even when they first come out of the oven. Almost all of their other baked goods(pumpkin bread, banana bread and scones etc.) are mediocre at best. But this is the only game in town so Ridgefield is stuck.

Great bagels! A Ridgefield institution! A wide assortment of bagel variety as well as great in house chili, soups, smoothies, and Green Mountain Coffee. Tuna and egg salad are among the best I ever had! Great place to meet, take the kids, or cater for corporate or family functions.

I wanted to love this place when I walked in: it’s small and charming, with handwritten signs and a delicious, lingering scent of fresh baked bread. Additionally, the person who helped me at the counter was friendly – not the manic kind of friendly that’s begging for tips, but personable, helpful, and relaxed. I ordered the avocado BLT on rye bread, and it was delicious. Everything I was looking for in a sandwich. The bacon was cooked exactly to my liking(nice & crispy), the lettuce and tomato were fresh & delicious, and the avocado was plentiful. The sandwich itself was light, which is nice. I feel like every other place I go to, no matter what kind of sandwich I order, it’s greasy and overwhelming. The avocado BLT was a pleasant, satisfying surprise. At $ 6.50, I got exactly what I paid for, if not more. I will be returning to Steve’s Deli to try something else off of their(huge!!) menu during one of my future lunch breaks.

I’m a bagel snob, and I know it. Living in Queens, I was lucky enough to have delicious bagels every day. And every day at breakfast when I’m not in the city, I become homesick. I wish I was exaggerating. Steve’s bagels aren’t anything special. They’re a step above what you would buy in the grocery store, but they do have a nice variety of flavors for your bagel and cream cheese. The prices are comparable to the city, but I thought they were on the small side. So these bagels are A-Ok, but nothing more to me. To each their own. However, they’re in the same plaza as a liquor store! So if you are like my friend and I, you can get yourself some breakfast and booze for the train. What more could you want in life?

Good bagels at a fair price, plus other delicious bakery items. Steve’s bagels are far better than Stop-n-Shop, and at $ 0.96 per bagel are 20% cheaper than the other bagel place in the same parking lot. The bagel is not as good as Bagelman, but it’s local, and not crazy hyped like Tom-Tom’s, and priced halfway between grocery store and high end. In other words it is exactly what it promises. A higher quality bagel at a price premium to grocery stores but a discount compared to the super premium places, and of course you don’t have to drive to Danbury. Plus the owner is always the first one to step up and generously give donations to our local sports teams for fund raising. This business is worth your time and support.

Mmmmm… real bagels. Dense. Chewy. Baked in-house. Covered in schmear that’s made in-house too. That’s a bagel. Ignore the self-fulfilling prophecies of those blinded by the preconceived narrative that good bagels can’t be found outside of New York. Steve has been making bagels here for the better part of 20 years, and have expanded to a second location in Wilton — obviously they’re doing something right. It’s a simple place… order at the counter, grab your own utensils, and sit at a table. Boom, done. Good for a quick breakfast or lunch. This is where I first discovered my favorite combination — an everything bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Don’t knock it ’till you’ve tried it!

I have lived in Ridgefield and this has been a staple of my childhood, my adolescence, and my youth. But now as a working individual, if I want a bagel, I drive elseware. The bagels themselves are hard, flavorless, and dense. Nothing to right home about, it’s worse than buying bagels in the supermarket(another thing I would avoid). If I’m looking for a decent bagel locally I would go to Danbury and get a Bagel Man bagel. Reason for two stars — the ambiance. It’s very Ridgefield and I’m greatful for that. When I was home on college breaks, going to Steve’s was a staple, something we all did as children after our soccer games or when we had CAPT testing or a half day. It’s right downtown with plenty of parking. It’s a take it or leave it, I’d just rather leave it.

Yikes! The bagels here are horrendous. Like most other reviews, I can confirm that the bagels are like hockey pucks and really have no taste. Went and ordered two egg sandwiches and both were wrong. Doesn’t seem like they get a lot of requests for breakfast sandwiches as the lady gave me a weird look when I ordered, and now I know why. Wish there was a better bagel place in Ridgefield, but unfortunately Steve’s is all we have. I’ve read that a few years ago this place was really great. A shame to see it’s gone downhill since.

As someone else wrote, these are probably the best bagels in Ridgefield. Of course, that isn’t saying very much. If you’re looking for a Brooklyn-caliber bagel, this is not it. However if you are local and want a decent bagel, friendly service and a pleasant place to sit and chat, it’s a good choice. Also, they have some nice bagel-sandwiches to choose from for an affordable lunch.
