Probably the best Hobby Shop all around in NJ. Sure some may have more O scale or more RC parts, but overall a store which has a bit of everything and enough variety to keep you coming back to discover more is awesome. Besides you can always get a coffee and buttered roll as well, where else has all of this? On every occasion there I came out with something new to build, paint with, add to my collections, etc… Well worth the trip.

In my travels, and being a model railroader, I’m always on the lookout for hobby shops to support my addiction, uh, HOBBY. ‘Scuse me! Anyway, this past Monday I checked out Ridgefield Hobby, and was VERY impressed! A great old-time hobby shop with a great variety of scales for the model railroader, O, S, HO, N, plus all the assorted accessories. If you’re not into trains they’ve got an outstanding variety of plastic models, planes, ships, cars, military, plus the wherewithal to make them look good. AND an on-site snack bar! I can’t say enough about the staff. This was my first time there, they didn’t know me from Adam, but still treated me like a long-lost friend. Very helpful folks that couldn’ t do enough. As a result I walked out with the wallet $ 200 lighter. Hey, no-one MADE me go in there! So, to all my fellow hobbyists out there, if you’re in North Jersey stop in and see these folks, you won’t be sorry. And for you non-hobbyists, put down that I-Pod, I-Pad, or whatever you call it and do something REALLY creative with your hands for a change. Build a model, a train layout, something you can look on with pride in years to come, not something that’s gone in an electronic flash. «Hey, I did that! ME! Pretty good, huh?» I fogot to mention, if you’re a Lionel collector they’ve got quite a bit of Lionel post-war on hand. A warning: Mark my words and remember them. Once«brick-and-mortar» shops like this are gone no power on earth can bring them back, so support your local hobby shop!
