Super expensive by-the-pound soup and salad bar. $ 16+ for a lunch meal. The creole soup was too salty to eat; and I’m one who likes plenty salt; but this was like licking a salt block. When I told the clerk I couldn’t eat the soup, she apologized; but no offer to exchange it for another selection. Skip this place; there’s a new Panera a few feet away.

A salad bar restaurant for a quick lunch is a great idea. Unfortunately the execution at Chopped leaves a lot to be desired. The restaurant is very small, and although it wasn’t busy when I was there, I can imagine long lines during a rush. The bar is only one sided. Service was basically nonexistent. One cashier who was too busy surfing on their phone to give direction to first time customers or clean up the food spilled on the counter. The bar had a decent topping selection, but some items were empty. The panini bar section had very limited choices. The whole place seemed picked over, and I was there ahead of the lunch rush. The plastic silverware and serving dishes is also cheap and wasteful. Cool concept, poor execution.

Over priced and narrow choices for an overall mediocre experience. The staff was very nice.

Chop’d Salad Bistro is a decent fast lunch or light dinner option, as long as you don’t want a glass of wine with your dinner. Drinks are limited to soda, iced tea & bottled water. The first thing I noticed was the cleanliness of this small light & airy space. The girl working was very friendly and explained how things work, after inquiring about this being my first visit. Everything is sold by the pound, so just grab a plastic bowl & load it up. The salad bar is much like you’d find at an upscale supermarket, but they also offer baked potato, soup and panini choices, as well. Great selection of salad ingredients, including fresh grapes, blueberries, nuts, meats, cheeses, etc. The blue cheese(one of 20, or so dressing options) was pretty good. I’m not a big fan of plastic cutlery. In this case, dispensed from wall-mounted units like you’d find in a cafeteria, instead of a trendy little eatery where your build-your-own salad will likely set you back $ 10 – 12, if you’re careful.

I’d give this place 7⁄10. I’m not sure the address is accurate – it’s in the Renaissance Shopping Center, next door to the Smoothie King. The food wasn’t what I’d expected, but it was still good. It’s a pay-by-weight set-up: Salad bar @ $ 7.49/lb Soup & potato bar @ $ 4.99/lb Panini bar @ $ 7.99/lb I had a big smattering of salad items, as well as a bowl of red beans & rice, and a drink, all for about $ 14. The RB&R was a good temperature, though it could have used a little more seasoning. The salads were also good. I recommend the«prepared salads» at the end of the line: they offer good chicken salad, pasta salad, and broccoli salad. They also have hummus. I remember thinking that they have enough variety to make a lot of different salads, depending on what mood you’re in: Cobb, Asian, Greek, etc. The restaurant was clean, and the service was fine given that it is, after all, «self-service.» The one drawback was the price. I may have just over-served myself, with eyes bigger than my stomach, but it still felt a little expensive for what I bought. With that said, you can control how much you buy AND how much you eat, so I wasn’t really disappointed. And again, the food was good. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back soon, but if I’m in the area, I’d make another visit.
