I came here with a group of girls after a long day of bridesmaid dress shopping. The menu is pretty simple with your standard greek food. They were giving out free tapioca pudding for desert. Also BYOB– we were able to open the champagne bottle the ladies at the bridal boutique gave us. If you’re hungry and need a place that has something for everyone– this is a great spot. Keep your expectations on check though!

I’ve been to many Greek to me restaurants and this one has some of the most authentic flavors in my opinion. We really enjoyed it. Our server(orlando) was so so sweet as well.

Unfortunately the prices have increased while the quality of the food has not kept pace. Our take-out Greek salad was unimpressive — short on feta, short on dressing and too much dill mixed in. But the gyro platter was pretty good — gyro meat had good flavoring and a generous portion.

I got take-out. Gyro was yummy. Spinach pie was great. Greek fries need a bit more flavor. I’d come back.

Came 8pm on Saturday night. They were out of: eggplant salad, baked chicken, braised lamb, salmon fillet, and every whole fish on the menu except branzino. This isn’t a freshness standard to accommodate the customer; its’s underordering to overprotect the house’s bottom line(if you’re actually concerned with food waste, join a donation program). The waiter was argumentative, curt, and ungracious, and service was rushed. The gigantes on the special menu were overcooked to a mushy pap. The pita is from a bag, and the vegetarian dolma from a can or jar. The Greek salad from our local diner is much better, bigger, cheaper, and fresher. The grilled shrimp atop it, which cost $ 2 apiece, were teeny tiny overcooked rubber balls. The chickpea spread and tzatziki were fine. Do yourself a favor and sample one of the many slightly pricier Ridgewood restaurants with equally lovely outdoor seating.

I had tried the Westwood location several times, but I was never impressed so I decided to come try this location tonight because we were craving Greek food. They have outdoor seating, which I thought was nice, but tonight we sat inside because it was too humid. The inside was okay. As we were looking through the menu, our waiter leaned against a counter without even approaching the table and asked us if we were ready to order. A strange way to take an order since he couldnt even hear us. We started off with the hummus and pita bread. The humus itself was a watery consistency and didnt have much flavor to it other than just plain garlic. It was also a bit salty for my liking. The pita they served is probably the cheapest kind that you can purchase. It lacked the comforting flavor and fluffy texture of normal pita. Instead, it just tasted like pure flour, even though we requested it well done. I ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken and my boyfriend ordered the chicken pita. I took a few bites of my salad, and I didnt even bother finishing it. The romaine lettuce was so shredded, Subway could have used it in their sandwiches. It was topped with four pickled peppers that you get from a jar. No bell peppers, but it had sliced hot peppers, which I didnt think belonged in the salad. I didnt realize how much dill would be in it. I normally enjoy it, but this was overkill. It wasnt just sprinkled over the salad, but it was actually tossed into it. The Feta was probably the cheapest kind you could get; it tasted way too salty and had an after taste that was similar to the after taste of eating crumpled Bleu cheese. The dolmades were disgusting as well. Also, there were no red onions, but very thinly sliced white onions, which I was not a fan of. I understand that I am talking about a salad here, but I didnt realize how it is possible to ruin a salad this much. On a postive note, the chicken was not bad. Very flavorful and juicy. My boyfriend’s dish, however, was just as sad. No lettuce, but only tomatoes, onions, chicken, and tzatziki — all served in that poor excuse for pita bread. No flavor at all. On top of everything, the bus girl repeatedly bumped into my boyfriend’s chair without ever apologizing. The reason why I give it two stars instead of one was the fact that the chicken served with my dish was decent. I would have given it one and a half if I could. Needless to say, I was not impressed with this place and I will not be returning. If you want real, authentic, good quality Greek food, go to A Taste of Greece in River Edge.

I really like this place. Great as I can sit outside with my dog, and they bring him a bowl of water, awwwwww, thanks. I usually get the salmon, it is so tasty. The salads are fresh and full of flavor. And yes everyone, they do have wine. You can have yourself a half bottle which is about two glasses and that is perfect! Go during the week and get a lunch special, great prices and great portions, I always end up bringing some home. Enjoy!

Came here with my family today. The service was awesome and the food was great. Refreshing to see such good service. Would definitely come again.

This place has AMAZING gyros — the tzatziki sauce was very good, the pita and toppings tasted fresh, and they are certainly generous with the amount of meat. The baklava was different than expected but my mom and I still loved it, it had more of an apple-cinnamon flavor than the Baklava I’ve tried before and it came with delicious caramel ice cream. The service was very nice and there are plenty of options for seating which I liked — you could sit outside near the road, inside, or a section that was all enclosed except for one wall, so you got the best of both. I will definitely come here again.

I must admit I love the food here. And every time we’ve been here service was good. But today service was horrible. I’m not sure if she was new as a server(young white school girl) there but she was so bad doing it. Even the table next to us was complaining. First we were waiting long to order, she never brought us the pitta and tzatziki sauce that we order as appetizer, than she never came back to check on us. We had to call other waiter to order desert. She brought the desert with no forks or spoons. Then again we waited… Finally we ask other waiter for the check and left. Really sad for place like this, but that girl ruined our dinner

Walked in waiter was eating could not be bothered with us @ 530 pm, place only had one other couple eating. Another server came out front seated us with menus. About ½ hour later went up front and asked can someone take our was same person that seated us bringing menus that he already gave us ??? Placed order said bring out all at once… Did not happen. During our dinner a waiter was training a new person counting off tables next to us trying to have relaxing dinner. Best part was when server showing new hire how to clean a table with a DIRTY towel !!! Hope the new hire left after two people showing him how to wipe a table down with this dirty towel . Food way to salty. Service poor, go to fort lee !!! Btw two pieces of chicken in large Greek salad your kidding !!! Shame on you

Take out: Large Greek Salad with extra chicken ~$ 28. Salad dressing tastes pre-packaged, tomatoes were soft, ~12 ounces of chicken, lettuce was wet. Not worth the money for such a lackluster, thrown together salad.

I’ve been here a whole lot of times since I was much younger. Big differences now are the slightly smaller menu, the addition of a wine menu(though BYOB is possible,) and the reduction of people eating here. It’s a bit depressing to someone like me. In terms of recommendations, I highly recommend either the normal or Shrimp Saganaki as well as the Lamb Kokinisto, the stuffed pepper/tomato, and Galaktoboureko/. Mids are all of the sandwiches as they are stuffed and the flavor is fine as well as some of the dips, the Avoglomeno soup, the Greek salad, the Spanikopita, and the Baklava. The lows are the Keftedes(meatballs) due to dyness and the occasional bad dip. Service is generally nice. I might be giving this a bit too high of a rating but the owner is very nice and the service is usually excellent. 3.5?

Delicious authentic Greek dining experience. Been here 18 years and we can understand why. Clean, food presentation was beautiful along with the taste of the food. A wonderful place!

I ordered a Greek salad and a gyro. The salad was good — no complaints. It was a decent size and tasted fresh. I thought the gyro was excellent, the pita bread is what makes it delicious. The gyro is huge — I could only eat half and saved the other half for lunch the next day. Next time I will order the tzatziki sauce on the side though because they poured it on. The service wasn’t the best but not bad enough to influence my opinion of the place. Warning: you will have killer onion breath when you leave.

Bad, crappy, inattentive and strange are just a few words to describe the service at this establishment. The only redeeming thing may have been the chewy delicious pita bread. My Greek salad wasn’t bad, but the dressing was whatever. The classic Gyro was OK. I’ve had much better. It was really salty too!

Went here for a first date, which I was sort of nervous about. Very relaxed/chill atmosphere. There are outside tables, but it started raining when we arrived so we dined inside. Cozy and quaint atmosphere with authentic Greek décor. The table was clean and the servers were friendly, in my book. I’ve read some of the other reviews about the servers being rude, but our wait staff was very efficient. As a matter of fact, I think they frequented our table very often, and everyone I encountered was friendly and attentive. Most of our meal was composed of appetizers. The waiter brought a basket of Pita, which I didn’t try, but my date enjoyed. We split a Greek Salad, which was delicious, the feta was extremely fresh and the stuffed grape leaves were the best I ever had. We also ordered spanakopita(spinach pie) and it was flaky and crispy. Also off the appetizer menu we split a Spinach, artichoke and feta cheese dip, and it was literally the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. All the food was very authentically Greek and the ingredients were simply fresh; you could really taste the good quality. During our meal the owner appeared and introduced himself, asking if we were enjoying our dinner and I affirmed that everything was simply delicious. For desert we drank Greek coffee, sweetened, it was served in expresso sized cups and was very good, with a chocolatey aftertaste. We paired our coffee with a dessert called galaktoboureko, which I had never had before, but which my Greek date ordered for us :) It was no surprise after such a delicious meal that the dessert was equally enjoyable. I’m not actually 100% sure what it was, but I know it had phyllo dough, simple syrup and a really tasty filling inside. It was a really wonderful first date and I know the atmosphere was conducive to that success. Delicious food, friendly staff and a charming ambience all conspired to create a lovely evening.

Whenever I visit family in the area they want to go to It’s Greek to Me. It’s strange but this place seems to have declined each time we’ve gone. We usually order a few apps, like the beets, which on our last visit was definitely out of a can. Also the friend zucchini which were dripping in grease. No bueno, definitely need to change the oil in their fryer. The gyro was still good and brings what should’ve been a two star up to three stars. Mick L.‘s previous review seemed pretty spot on in terms of decline as well over all experience with the service which can range from rude to atrocious.
