We has the most amazing lunch here today. Great service and great food. Kids had two excellent burritos and I won the prize for most amazing luch: xcallops and shrimp with creamy risotto and squash. See my photos. This simply blew me away.. The chef even came out to check on is. A must try destination!

Excellent tacos. Stopped in for quick taco in the middle of food shopping on Fresh Pond… Then sent my wife back for more. So many flavors — soft, crisp, hot, crunchy, almost buttery in a soft fluffy wrap. Good food on Fresh Pond Road… whoddathunkit?

This place is delicious! I have only ordered this place for take out, but even as take out this place is delicious! I particularly love their Mexican corn, though they do not give you the whole corn for some reason, and they only give you half(but two halves!) Their Hawaiian burger is really good. The meat is cooked to perfection, it is fair in size and comes with a side of fries which I love! Get the spicy mayo sauce guys, your taste buds will not be disappointed! Of course, the highlight is the tacos. They are soft shell tacos, which is great because I don’t like hard-shells. My favorite one is the steak, then the chicken and lastly the shrimp. I wish they had fish tacos but unfortunately they don’t :(

I’ve been here twice now and haven’t been disappointed. This time I around I ordered 3 tacos instead of my previous chicken with mole sauce. And I am so happy I did. They were delicious, and authentic-tasting. Highly recommended! I’ve taken away a star for the atmosphere, which is really nothing special. It was also a bit chilly when I was there on an early winter afternoon. Maybe they don’t put the heat on until it gets busy? And I haven’t been able to check out their outdoor area yet, though it looks pretty charming!

Folks who love a spicy taco and rarely found mexican ingredients will love this place. The tacos come ready to eat, with all toppings on them, complete with all salsa, etc. That’s not a great thing if you’re not a fan of spice. Atmosphere is cozy and service is helpful and patient. The nachos are a little different, but we liked them. I won’t rush back here, but that’s my personal taste. I do believe they’ve done a very nice job.

The shrimp taco, fish taco and crab tostadas were amazing. Corn and plantains with crème were on point, also. Food came out hot, service was great, plus the plating/presentation was great. This place is a hidden gem in Ridgewood. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican, this is probably not for you… it’s basically a fusion place, but only a step up from authentic. Parking is the only issue, in my opinion. It’s pretty awful at night after 8pm.

I am a Californian but more importantly a San Franciscan and even more importantly a former Mission District resident — the place where the burrito was born! Untimely this place could benefit a lot from simplicity and better quality ingredients. There were many complex and competing processed flavors. I would say this food caters to the ‘southern’ American palate and is not true to the simple beauty of Mexican cooking styles. ‘nuf said…

Love this place!!! We were randomly in this neighborhood and Unilocaled around because we were starving. Had great reviews so we decided to try it. Great service! Id highly recommend the nachos and corn! Tacos were just okay. I’ve had better but 5 stars for great service and overall good food. Just wish it was closer to where I live! I’d come back again next time!

The first time I was here was 2 years ago when they were new to the neighborhood so it’s nice to compare to how they are now. I ordered the street corn again but this time I was a bit underwhelmed. It had some charring so they did put it in the grill for a bit, but the corn tasted like it was boiled for too long first which took away the natural corn flavor and made it bland and lacking crispness. The corn was topped with a mix of seasonings and cheese which were a nice combo but there was just too much of it. It overpowered any bit of the natural corn flavor. Also ordered the sweet plantain with sour crème and chipotle mayo for dipping sauces. I was very disappointed that I only got 5 slices for $ 5. However, they tasted like perfection. Who knew chipotle mayo would go great with plantains?! Nice amount of spice paired with the natural sweetness of the plantains. My friend ordered the spicy chicken quesadilla and was not satisfied. I tasted some of his chicken and I had to agree with him. It was over seasoned. All heat and no flavor. It wad difficult to eat or enjoy and we both like spicy flavors. I had the carne asada torta. The steak was well seasoned and so tender. Nice job! For dessert I ordered the churros which were fresh and tasty. They had a cream filiing but our waiter didn’t know what kind of filling it was. Speaking of the waiter, he was a bit absent. He didn’t come by to refill our water and we never got extra napkins.

Been here twice during my lunch break and even though the tacos are good, they are not the best I’ve had. Great service but a long wait for both food and drinks, even when we were the only ones in the restaurant. I got the little meats, grilled steak and shepherd chicken tacos, cost me a roughly $ 10 for all 3 tacos. Their fries with chipotle mayo was on point, I will come back to try more items on their menu and maybe have a chance to sit in their patio before it starts getting cold.

So I just ordered my food from this restaurant. I’ve eaten here numerous times and the food is great that is why I am giving this review 2 stars. I was being lazy to go down the block to the restaurant so I ordered delivery. The order took exactly an hour to arrive, fine it made it right on time as promised not missing a second. I ordered 2 chicken tacos. The food was so cold, I was disgusted. The only reason why I ate it was because I was starving and desperate at this point. I tipped $ 2.07(20%) and they also charge a $ 2 delivery fee. I understand maybe the Delivery guy was upset of a «low tip» but I just paid 4 dollars on top of my order to have it delivered up the block with a $ 7 order, which is more than half of my actual order. Disappointed.

Pretty much everything we had here was fantastic. The nachos were way different from bar slop, with freshly fried chips, home marinated veggies, freshly made guacamole. The plantains y crema was even better, with super soft plantain and delicious creamy spicy dip. And three tacos: great shrimps, great fish taco, only the steak fajita style taco was less than fabulous. And after all that food, which left two hungry people unable to finish it, the bill was $ 26.

Kermes The Frog owns this place, and the tacos here are the exact reason why he was able to turn Miss Piggy into a, well, piggy. And I’m talking about the food kind of piggy, of course. What to get: Fish Taco What else: I love fish tacos. I love eating fish tacos. Please give me fish tacos. ;) Actually, I have mixed feelings about Kermes. There’s bad and there’s good, so let’s start with the good. (1) The Fish Taco was absolutely delicious. Piping hot. Juicy. Greasy. Delectable. Probably the best fish taco I’ve had in NYC. (2) The service was friendly, and the people are actually Latin which is always a good sign. (3) It’s a little family owned place in a part of Queens that doesn’t get much business, so I’d like them to do well. Now for the bad stuff. (1) The shrimp taco was very disappointing. I would certainly never get it again. (2) I found the prices to be a little too high. My two tacos were closer to $ 10 than $ 5 which I found a little shocking. The Fish Taco was excellent, but still. (3) The wait time was extremely long, so don’t come here if you’re in a hurry. I ordered by phone and still waited at least 15 mins. The bottom line is, I’d recommend their Fish Taco to anyone, but definitely not the Shrimp. Since, as promised, I always rate my places based on the best items, and based on taste, then I’ll give Kermes The Frog a 5-star, but with reservations… that it’s not one of my fave places in town. And I’m glad it’s named after the frog, and not big-haired people(Permes), little writhing creatures(Wormies), tinier writhing creatures that make babies(Spermies), or worst of all — Herpes. Because nobody wants that. And nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. Or the Mexican one, for that matter. Comprendez?

Steak tacos was on point. Hot sauce was great! I would skip the chicken quesadilla. Tables are small but intimate. Nice place.

Came here again for some tacos–«surf and turf» was delish! Drink — cucumber lime juice refreshes your mouth after a savory bite of tacos. This place does not disappoint. In addition service was good and people are really nice.

My friend had this restaurant bookmarked for months. and finally, we had a chance to try it! We were not disappointed! Food was delicious and fresh! Tacos were flavorful, though, I wasn’t too excited about their guacamole n tortilla chips(I’ve def had better). Though the tacos were definitely the star! I had a chicken fajita taco, a Tilapia fish taco and a Carnitas taco. My favorite, by far was the fish taco! Delicious, flaky fish, with a surprising spicy kick, and the avocado chipotle mayo and mango slaw inside were really good! Dessert was pretty good as well. Mango Cheesecake was good, and their Pina Colada Flan was good. Though I have to point out, their Pina Colada rum sauce on the flan, was very strong! As soon as the waitress set the plate down, I smelled the alcohol right away! Décor was warm and inviting and service was on point!

UnilocalFIND!, Small place, not so many tables, nice size bar when you walk in. They sat us by a back door that was not in use, but it was very drafty(and i’m never cold). Service: Our waitress was friendly. The hostess(which I think is the wife of the owner as I read in another review) was not welcoming at all, she seemed bothered. Food took forever to come out, and there was only 2 or 3 other tables in use, so I cant imagine what its like when they are busy. Food: okay so we starved ourselves all day soooooo we ordered a lot… lol We shared the steak quesadillas with bacon as an app… yummmm…classic, warm, crispy and very flavorful! We also had the shrimp taco and chorizo taco(chorizo taco is not on the menu but he make everything to order, so they made that for us) tacos were delish! I had the steak tostada for dinner… all ingredients are so fresh, crispy lettuce, warm tasty meat, and all the fixins your expecting on a tostada! I also tried this mexican water drink for the first time,(forgot the name) water, milk, sugar, and cinnamon… really good… happy to have been introduced to this! *****street corn is deLish… corn on the cob with cheese on it(see my pics!) They do take out and delivery. We will def be back… great for a quick date nite spot. OH and i forgot to mention… NOLIQUORLICENSE… so its BYOB… always a brite side… CHEERS!
