I have a usual sushi place that I go to but recently out of nowhere they were extremely rude to me. I live in the area and decided to try something new. As soon as you walk in you get that warm, homie feeling. The place is quiet and its BYOB. We sat at the bar while watching the chefs work hard to make these exquisite pieces. We had 6 rolls. The BBKing roll along with a few other spicy ones. Delicious isn’t even the word. This is by far the BEST sushi I’ve ever had. They take their time making each roll, as you bite into the sushi you can tell the fish is fresh. They don’t take short cuts. I’m beyond impressed. The service is excellent. They make you feel at home. I’m beyond glad I came here. You guys will definitely see me again. Thank you guys and please keep up the great work.

Very delicious sushi! My fiancé & I eat there every week(sometimes even several times a week)! The fish is always fresh, and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve ever ordered from them. Friendly people & a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. We always find ourselves in a pleasant conversation with the owner whenever we go. We are moving and this is the only restaurant we will truly miss! Couldn’t ask for better– wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I know five stars seems a bit much for this simple little sushi joint in River Edge. But my wife and I have been eating here for many years and here’s the thing: every time we have sushi somewhere else we always say something like, «This is pretty good sushi, but not as good as Fuki». Atmosphere is OK with a nice sushi bar. Service is friendly and fast. But above all, the sushi is excellent.

Hostess is not friendly and neither are the other people that work here. Soy paper cost $ 2.00 and spicy mayo $ 1.00. It’s a bit of a ripoff. Won’t be back.

Fuki Sushi is awesome. I love their sushi. They are so friendly and always happy to educate you on all the different types. Classy, clean, comfortable, and the fish is always fresh. I have been coming here for seven years.

I’ve been coming here for at least 7 or 8 years, the best sushi in the area! Their bento boxes are the best! I love the chicken teriyaki bento, the chicken is crispy and the veggies are fresh and the tempora is delicious. I’ve had so many things on the menu and I’ve never been disappointed. I can’t recommend it enough. There’s something for everyone!

Wow! This place is such a gem! The sushi and Japanese food is fresh and a true cut above any other place in the area!!! The service is warm and inviting and they definitely put the customer first! The décor is cozy and romantic enough for a date night but casual enough for a family dinner. Highly highly recommend!!!

My favorite sushi place in the area. it is pricey but you get what you pay for. quality sushi. the rolls had very little rice and alot of fish. my favorite special roll is the fuji dragon. if your looking for a great hole in the wall spot. fuki is the one for you. i always go to other sushi spots and i always end up comparing them to fuki, but i have not found its equal yet!

I love fuki sushi:) trust me, im Japanese and their sushi is Japanese style. Their sushi is little bit expensive compare to others but they always use fresh never frozen fish. This place is small but its so nice and cozy. I had some sushi, oyabun roll, spicy crunch, and salmon yaki. I highly recommend this place! Also this place is BYOB!

I order take out from here every couple of weeks, they will deliver if you need it. They make the best Salmon skin rolls! I order so often that they have remembered my name as soon as I start ordering my favorites. Tobiko, message, tomago, Shumai, miso soup, cucumber salad, yum!

A little expensive but it’s a great local spot with friendly staff. It’s Byob and sometimes they will play music for you. The place has been around for a while and I’ve never had a bad meal here. The giant TV in the back is a little weird but it’s not a big deal.

Moved from the west coast to New Jersey and I was excited to try out the sushi around here. A coworker recommended this place so I went with a friend on a Friday night. The place is small but it was clean so the star is for that… But now let me tell you about the food. It was not what I was expecting at all. I ordered three rolls, oyakodon, & a sashimi set. The rolls had way too much rice and very tiny pieces of fish. Also, way too much tobiko on top. That shows how little effort they put into their rolls. Just because it isn’t sashimi doesn’t mean a chef should cover up the rolls with rice and tobiko. Second, the waitress there(Tall skinny girl) is just plain rude. I felt very scared to eat there because whenever i asked her a question, she stared me down and just mumbled under her breath or she just sort of ignored them. I had a very unpleasant experience at Fuki sushi.

Fuki Sushi exceeded my expectations. The outside of the restaurant had me thinking it wouldn’t be the best dining experience, but the interior is actually very cute. The food was amazing. We ordered edamame which was probably the best I’ve ever had. Then I ordered the Duke roll, which was great. Definitely recommend this place!

Wanting to try all the good sushi places in Bergen County, my friend sent me a link with the top 5 best sushi places. Fuki sushi was one of them, and that was what made me decide to try this place. From its website, it’s obvious this place was a small place. Not judging a book by its cover, I decided to give it a try anyways because I’ve had great sushi in small locations. The place is off a main road in River Edge, with no crazy sign pointing to the place. Walking into the restaurant, its maximum seating was probably around 25 – 30 people, including the sushi bar seats. I went around 730−8pm and all the seating was taken except for the sushi bar. We were greeted upon arrival and didn’t mind sitting at the bar. The bar was a bit dirty with previous unused napkins laying around. There were dirty dishes as well on the corner of the bar and the seat I sat at had leftover napkin and chopstick wrappers. From what I’ve seen, there was only one waitress running around serving everybody. I didn’t get a menu immediately as soon as I sat, but was given one eventually after about 5 minutes of waiting(which was fine considering there was only one waitress). She greeted us with a friendly face and came back for our order. My husband and I ordered a seaweed salad, edamame, a salmon yaki roll, the Bronx Bomber roll, two glasses of water, and one hot green tea. We didn’t get our waters until 10 mins after placing our order. The waitress completely forgot our green tea, which we didn’t press for considering we thought she’d bring it a little later. My seaweed salad came out at a decent time with the waitress acknowledging the edamame would be out shortly. Edamame was steamed perfectly with no added sea salt on top(which is just fine). Our sushi was made in front of us which was entertaining to watch. My salmon yaki roll consisted of cooked salmon wrapped around the rice roll. Inside was cooked crab and avocado. It was served with a sweet sauce on top. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the crab and avocado was very fresh. The Bronx Bomber consisted of shrimp, crab, masago, and spicy tuna. The spicy tuna wasn’t as fresh as I had hoped and was a bit dry. The shrimp and crab were fine and the spiciness of the tuna was perfect, only If it went dry. For dessert, we ordered one green tea mochi that was cut into four small pieces. Was the mochi worth $ 4? Absolutely not. I could’ve gotten a box of 6 for the price of what I paid for one mochi. The mochi was clearly from a packaging, considering I found a piece of plastic wrapping still stuck on my mochi piece. I gave the restaurant a three star because of the service. I understand that one waitress was on the job, to which she’s done beautifully considering she didn’t have any help. However, regulars came in after Us and were offered wine glasses and drinks before us. She forgot the green tea that we ordered and ended up giving it to us with the sushi, half an hour later(although they didn’t charge for this). One of the sushi chefs was chugging a Heineken while making the sushi(not sure if this is normal for all other sushi places??). The waitress didn’t offer to refill our waters until the end of our meal, which was fine since she left the pitcher of water next to me, allowing me to fill it myself. Overall, the food was good, although some things were a little bit overpriced and the service was good for only have one waitress serving a small restaurant full of people. *Side note: the bathroom is a small little closet space underneath a staircase with a toilet that’s worth more than the bathroom itself. The toilet is one of those awesome heated toilets with a million buttons to adjust the seat temperature, the options of turning it into a bidet, etc. If you’re a local, this is a nice place since it’s byob. Otherwise I would suggest going to a different byob sushi joint.

We came to check out Fuki given the fairly good reviews. This place is a good sushi… I also had the oyako don, which was okay. It was a little too wet, and I had better at my former go-to place back in Chicago. The atmosphere is cozy. It’s a small place that seats maybe 25 – 30 people at the most. There is only one server for the entire place, and so service could slack a little if the place is packed. Service was friendly and she did her best running around tending to customers. I could see why some of the reviews scored low on service. We ordered a number of rolls for dinner. We a couple of basics and a couple of the specialty maki rolls. The spider maki roll is one that I order at all sushi places to serve as a benchmark. While good, I have had better. I didn’t get the full set of crab legs that I am usually accustomed to in the end pieces(mine seemed to have been cut short). Parking is plentiful, and is on the street. We would definitely come back, but only for sushi. I would be hesitant to try the dinner entrees.
