The hibachi is diagonally located from the sushi stand, which is at the center at the beginning of the food court. Pros: you can ask for the chef for extra teriyaki sauce for the white rice but this place usually give a good amount so no complains. Their food is average but I definitely prefer it than other fried food at the food court. The sushi is made fresh after you order. They leave all their condiments/utensils for the sushi stand aside so you grab what want. If you want spicy mayo, just ask and they will give you a small container of it. There is sales special: If you order 2 rolls of their specials, there’s a dollar discount. For 3 rolls, it’s a $ 1.50 off. Cons: there’s separate location for the hibachi and the sushi stand. The downside is there’s two lines you’d need to make to place your orders. When you ask for your order to go, they give you a bag that basically said«bag it yourself». Overall, the taste is mediocre like any other Sarku Japan. The sushi tastes much better than Yo Sushi, which is a sushi restaurant located on the 2nd floor nearby the carousel.

I know people will say bad things about this place because it is a little fast food sushi joint, but I’m sorry what the hell do you expect if you are getting cheap sushi at a mall? If you want superb sushi go to an a actual Japanese restaurant or fancy sushi spot. I am reviewing it as it is? a fast food place, I have ate the sushi here in GSP since I was in college and that was 7 years ago. I like them because they put a chunk of shredded imitation crab in their california roll, other Sarku doesn’t do thay nor do other cheap sushi joints do that. Their salmon and tuna appears and tastes fredh and the guys work very fast. They also give spicy mayo on the side for free if you ask. I also like chicken teriyaki roll because if you don’t have a complere appetite for chicken teriyaki at Sarku then you can get the sushi version :). Spicy tuna roll tastes great here too. Only one star off because recently lines are long and they omit two pieces in a usual ten piece roll to get things moving yet charge the same price, thats a no no but its a no no because it is so yummy that I just need my two extra pieces damnit! :P

I hate to say it. I had a good experience Sarku sushi. For the quality and the price, it was actually quite good. I ordered a combo of Sashimi(3 Tuna, 3 Red Snapper, 3 Salmon) nigiri(1 Tuna, 1 Salmon, 1 Red Snapper) with a Philadelphia Roll, it was $ 13. The salmon and tuna were so fresh looking and tasting, I couldn’t believe it. The texture of the fish was really great and it was served room temperature, not warm. The rice was sort of flavor less, but at least it wasn’t hot. I know this place is a chain, but my experience was good compared to a few misses I’ve had at other sushi restaurants in Bergen County(Kurumi in Hawthorne; Yamada, Rutherford). It may not be Sakura Bana in Ridgewood, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I Know Some Folks Enjoy Convenience But This Is A Pass For Me Sarku Is To Sushi What Burger King Is To Prime Rib And I’m Happy To Say: Not Japanese! This location is a kiosk and in my experience things that are purchased at mall kiosks are sub-par yet more economical. In the instance of sushi, I prefer to not look for the cheapest or most convenient but the middle of the road Japanese owned restaurants, I can assure you there are some very good ones within a ten mile radius of this mall. The Back Story Sarku Japan is a North American fast food chain specializing in Japanese cuisine such as teriyaki and sushi. Headquartered in Markham, Ontario, the chain has approximately 200 restaurants in 36 U.S. states, frequently sited in large shopping malls and beginning to utilize storefront locations as well. The group was founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 1987 where it opened its first store; by 1991, they had expanded to 25 locations in 8 states, and by 1999, had opened their 100th location. As of April 2002, the company is headquartered in Markham, Ontario. «Sarku» does not mean anything in Japanese, and would in fact be difficult for a Japanese person to pronounce, as Japanese does not contain any instances of R followed immediately by another consonant, with no vowel in between. The closest approximation would be saruku. Sarku actually is Cantonese(a dialect of Chinese) which means stone bridge. Since all of its four founders are Chinese, there is nothing Japanese about Sarku Japan except for its name which has the word«Japan» in it. You get what you pay for.

It is what it is, it’s a sushi kiosk in the middle of a mall food court. But, it does offer good pricing on sushi($ 1 a piece) and a nice variety of sushi/rolls/hand rolls. They make their sushi rice on the premises, fresh hot rice mixed w/vinegar. Every sushi order is made to order. not bad for a small kiosk honestly. The salmon sushi was very tasty and satisfying. I’d def grab some more again

This sushi bar is in a very strange place near the food court. It’s in it’s own sort of little kiosk in the middle of the mall right before the food court(or right after the food court depending on which direction you’re walking). I’ve had sushi here twice. Both times the sushi that they served to me was warm. Yes, warm sushi. It was strange. Not very appealing. A bit off-putting actually, as I had never had warm sushi before. It made me concerned about the quality of the fish and if I would be getting sick from it. After all, I’m used to chilled sushi. Everyone serves chilled sushi. Doesn’t sushi fish have to be kept chilled in order for it not to spoil? The only reason I tried it again a second time was that I thought the first time they served me warm sushi was a mistake. It wasn’t. The second time was warm also. I will not be eating there a third time. I’m not a fan of warm sushi. They make the sushi fresh to order and scoop the rice straight out of a large rice cooker. The fish is kept on a counter under plastic wrap.

Granted, this is a place in a mall foodcourt. The sushi however tasted pretty good. The people working there were snippy and could barely answer questions. Still, they had some combos of sushi rolls that were fairly priced, along with available party trays.
