Foods awesome. Best chicken kabob around. Staff needs to be a little nicer. Maybe a «hello how are you may I take you order» instead of «what would you like». They’re teenagers what do you expect I guess. Owner is cool. Actually has a conversation with you as you wait for food. I read some complaints about people having to wait for there food. It’s freshly cooked food not pre cooked people. If I gotta wait couple more minutes for fresh food I will no problem. Overall A-​1!!!

Waited 25 minutes for a chicken finger meal and a hot dog. Food is just OK normal fast food nothing special. The wait for the food is just ridiculous.

For a quick bite to eat, this place is very good. You get a lot for your money.

I haven’t had one bad thing and I’ve pretty much had the whole menu. Wish it was a little cheaper but all the food is fresh so make sure to call in and do carry out if you don’t like waiting 10 – 15 minutes.

As many of you already knew, Rosa J. likes to hang out with fellow senior citizens and police officers. Well, they seem to know good neighborhood places to grab a bite. Thus this evening, Rosa J. and hubby explored a little bit of Dunning/​River Grove neighborhoods and found «Goody’s» for some gyros!
There weren’t many pictures or recent reviews on this place, so I left this «bookmarked» on my Unilocal for quite some time. However, after walking through the double-​doors, what I saw was a spacious dining room, featuring Chicago sports photographs, articles, and memorabilia on the walls. Ok, perhaps I might have more confidence on the food that would soon be served.
I was attempting to locate the value meal menu I saw on their Unilocal business page. The young lady cashier pointed me to the right, for my peripheral vision was temporarily blindsided somehow. Hubby and I both went with the Gyros (Gyro plate and Gyro sandwich combo). All value meal combos come with fries and a fountain pop.
Hubby’s gyro plate also came with a side of Greek salad. Although Unilocal put Goody’s under the «fast food» category, we waited for approximately ten (10) plus minutes for our food. Was it considering «fast,» like a Ji*my J*hn’s commercial? Since we weren’t under the time constraint, I was checking out the seemingly yummy food that senior citizen social club on my left was consuming and the River Grove police officer’s giant muscles, with some fierce tattoos, on my right.
Food has finally arrived. First of all, the presentation was pretty fantastic. I’m no expert of gyros, but I enjoyed my gyro sandwich. I thought the yogurt sauce with dills was tasty. In addition, the side fries were crispy. For $ 20 and some change, we did have an above-​average Greek-​American style «medium-​speed» feast.
I will definitely be back if I ever wonder around the Thatcher Woods plaza area (the strip mall next door). Heading to Goody’s is accessible via CTA #77 (Belmont) bus. The nearest stop is Belmont/​Plainfield. I have to apologize that I failed to capture their business hours for you Unilocalers’ convenience.

Everyone says oh this place has good food, so I went here, waited for my gyro sandwich for like 30 minutes, and when I did get my order, my gyro was dry and my fries were hard and cold. Never again I will come here.

Food was decent. It was not bad, just not as good as the reviews I read. I would probably not go back. The staff was not very friendly which was the deciding factor on the 3 stars. Otherwise they would have received 4.

I love coming to goodys! I grew up in river grove and its always been a good place to get a hot dog or burger there cheese frys amazing its not like that cheese that they get out of a bag the portions they give are a good size to for what you pay for its a nice little mom and pop place I would recommend for peq to go here when going threw river grove

If your looking for moderatly priced, high quality fast food goodies is your place. I recommend the shishkab plate. Grilled and marinated pork with 2 sides. You will not leave hungry. Never had a bad experience here.

Great food served fast. Love the Burgers and the Gyros. The soft serve in the summer is also a great treat.

Delicious grilled chicken salad. Burger was really good too. Nice and clean place with very pleasant owner! Can’t wait to try their greek foods.

They have a huge menu so its easy to find something you like. Service is fast and food is good. They have great prices and give good size portions.

Been here several times, no bad experience to speak of, but since this is the first time I am reviewing the place I won’t mention other visits. The chili here is adequate at best, no spice, no bite, I would guess from a can, I cannot imagine it being homemade. Chicken strips were good, served hot, with either honey mustard or BBQ sauce for dipping, I chose the BBQ. For a Wednesday at 3:30pm this place was pretty busy. Plenty of seating or take it to go, if you’re passing thru River Grove & want to eat, don’t rule this place out.

Best burgers in the Chicago area. I always moan a bit when I bite into them. Great prices too.

It’s a favorite of ours because it’s convenient, the food is good and the service is very friendly. Try their steak sandwich or the Greek chicken dinner!

Decent food. Typical gyro, typical hot dogs. Nothing to dream about at night but definitely fulfills a craving. I’ve never dined in, always pick-​up and the orders never been wrong.

Get the gyros, trust meeeeee!

Okay, honestly, I don’t typically eat at «burger or hotdog» stands or fast-​food joints but whenever I’m home visiting my mom I cannot help but go in here. Their french fries are to die for– they’re everything I would ever want in a fried potato. They’re crunchy, they’re salty, they’re savory and most importantly they’re made fresh to order so they’re hot!
Goody’s has a wide selection of Greek food as well as «American» food and whenever it comes to getting gyro’s elsewhere– I always compare them to this place. I don’t know what it is but they’re meat is delicious :)
Also, I’ve known the owners since I was about 8 and they still remember me so whenever I do come in now I’m always greeted with a warm welcome.
Get the gyro’s plate! You won’t regret it!

This is a decent little spot if you’re in the area. Really good BBQ Ribs. Foods always fresh and I always get decent portions. Not expensive. Actually a pretty good bargain. Family that owns it is also always really nice and very customer oriented.

We came here on a weeknight for a late dinner following an evening at Brookfield Zoo with some friends. The place is still as clean as I remember it to be when I lived about a mile away, back when it first opened. It even has a sports bar feel to it, minus the beer signs and alcohol, since there are two big TV’s on the wall. One was showing the Blackhawks, and the other an NFL game.
Great burgers, hot dogs and Polish. It’s also a popular hangout for local police and paramedics from Chicago, River Grove and Elmwood Park, and even my dentist from down the street on Belmont comes here from time to time. For a family of 4, we ate our fill for under $ 20, so it’s still a great bargain.
