Above average pub clean and attentive staff always seem to satisfied with lunch or dinner here. To many beers to choose from not a bad thing but food is always spot on and satisfying a little heavy meaning large portions and lots of belly rubbing not enough room to finish the beers. Hats off to this guy for keeping his game on and keeping local patrons satisfied for years.

first off let me start with diggers ive been going here for a long time and really gives you an irish pub feel the food and bar scene are great! love tod but the wait staff are hit or miss. the last time I went I had jay or justin I think, great kid! knew most of the menu«at least what I asked of him lol» great personality lovely kid also said something about the army I with him well. with that being said ive had other experiences there I cant remember her name but I think she was the waitstaff manager older woman and I remember her starting off great but as the night went on she got flustered kinda forgot about my table and ended upmessing up my order, anyways i still enjoy the food there maybe they need more servers on during the weekends

Love this place! Great staff, great beer selection, really good pub food. Friday and Saturday nights get crazy busy, but the rest of the time we have always had excellent service and timely food and beverage arrivals.

Really fun place! Bar tenders are welcoming and make you feel comfortable. I had the Guinness mussels. All I can say is Omg awesome! Another has the corned beef Benny. Wow. Awesome food. A must if in Riverhead

I was in Riverhead for work and needed to eat, I was starving. So like many of you I turned to Unilocal and Digger’s Ales N’ Eats came up. After scrolling through the pictures I decided to stop in. They have parking in the back and that’s where I parked. When I came in I couldn’t believe how big this place was! I mean you can bring 10 people and still not be next to other people. They have rooms in rooms there. They have a very clean single bathroom to add to the allure. I was greeted by my waitress Alyssa, she was a great waitress by the way, and she took me to my table. This place has a very homey feeling. Low lights and great music, but not loud enough to overpowering your conversation. I got a pink lemonade and ordered the famous«Triple Decker»(only 2 patties, name fools you) and I prepared for war! When my meal came I didn’t know how to take this double 12 oz. monster down. I took my time before I started, if anyone needs help with taking one down I’m the guy for the job. I managed to destroy it! I must say it was worth the fight. The meat was juicy, the tomatoes were fresh, and they put plenty of cheese on it, did I mention I love CHEESE? It was a great quality burger. They are a bit price, just a quick note, but eating you will know why. I also got waffle fries. They seasoned them perfectly! Not to salty, I hate salt, just the right amount. I plan to return next time and order something else. There menu is big. I will also be giving a crash course on how to take down the«Triple Decker!» If your interested.

Four of us us went here after a last minute trip out east. We didn’t really have to wait, which was nice because the place was decently crowded. Service was friendly, and fast and gave pretty good recommendations. 16 beers on tap that day, and a pretty good variety of craft beer. Food was pretty good, I had the Reuben which was very big and came with fries. The corned beef was a little dry but otherwise the sandwich was pretty great. Pretty good place, definitely happy we found it.

Service here was really friendly. Inside is cozy. For food I had the app platter and the Digger’s Prime Dip Sandwich. The portions were HUGE. The sandwich was a mountain of prime rib. The ribs, potato skins, and wings were great. I’m a stickler for wings, but they definitely pass the test. The restaurant had some flies. They should try to take care of that, but it didn’t ruin my meal. Flies happen, whatever. Really great place. I would go back again because the menu has a ton of great options!

Diggers. Not the greatest, most attentive, or welcoming staff; not the most amazing anything… but all around decent; decent everything. Thumbs up, I suppose.

Digger’s is everything that I look for in an Irish pub plus more. They take it to the next level here. Not only do they serve typical Irish fare, they also have menu items that are really outside-the-box in terms of taste and creativity. Oh, and they have a killer selection of beers on tap. That’s a huge plus too. Inside is casual and comforting. There’s ample seating in both the dining area as well as at the bar. And during the weekend they have a live band which is great. I love that their beers are always rotating and since the Riverhead area has a ton of breweries, you’re getting what’s local. Now let’s talk food. Having tried an assortment of items from the menu I can’t decide what’s my favorite, but I’ll try to break it down for you: –Coconut Shrimp: Ridiculously good. They coat the shrimp in a special breading that’s JUST sweet enough and they pair it with a honey dijon sauce to off-set the sweetness so it’s perfectly balanced. One of my favorites of the night. It had the definite crunch factor. –Pull Pork Tacos: I mean, how can you go wrong? Really. Is it healthy? Nope. Is it delicious? YES. –Spinach Artichoke Dip: The ultimate app. It’s super creamy and addictive. –Kobe Beef Burger: This was a special of the night. Saw the words Kobe Beef… say no more. The burger first of all was massive. It was sandwiched between two hearty buns and topped with cheese, smoked pickles and can’t remember what else, but it was so so good. And it came with steak fries. I had to split it with someone since I couldn’t eat the whole thing. Props to the chef on that one. At Digger’s you feel right at home. The people there treat their customers like family and if the atmosphere doesn’t persuade you enough, the food certainly will. Can’t wait to come back here.

Nice bar, great selection of craft beers nice to see a local brewery on their tap selection. Friendly bartender. Would like to come back and try the bar food looks appealing. Place is very big, a little dark but that’s ok seems to be a night bar. Lots of Tvs seems like a cool place to come out at night to.

Watched a NASCAR race here at their bar and was not impressed at all. I find bars that offer Stella in bottle only to be a bit annoying IMO(what bar doesn’t have Stella on tap now?). Bartender service needs to learn the rules of traditional bar etiquette. Buy-backs still exist and keep consumers coming back. Food was a 6 on a 1=10 scale. Atmosphere was cliquey. I think I would’ve gotten better treatment had I have gone to high school with the unfriendly bartender.

Took some friends here for lunch last week. Not the best experience. For starters the place was freezing cold although we did see on of the staff, a rather large boy, walking around in shorts so it could have been the 3 of us. We all ordered soup to start just to warm ourselves up. Soup was good. The waitress was accommodating in giving us time to review the menu before placing our orders but when our food arrived one of the orders was wrong. The server delivering the food asked ‘do you want to eat it anyway?’. Yikes! Did he really expect a positive response to that? Sure I’ll eat what you cooked up even though it wasn’t what I ordered. By the time the correct order arrived the two of us who received the correct order had finished our meals. A single apology from the waitress who took the order was all that was offered.

Was there Sunday evening for dinner with my husband, it was our first time there and we were very happy. The food was delicious and the service was great. The place is really big as well we did a quick walk around after dinner, lots of space, big flat screen TVs and a nice square bar, which if it wasn’t full at the time we would have sat and had a drink, but we will be back I’m sure!

Love Diggers! Locally owned and operated, food is great, bar carries an endless selection of beers and supports local craft breweries so you get to experience Riverheads finest. The environment is always warm and welcoming and Clean! I love when the local Irish band plays there. Just an overall«stand out» restaurant and bar in riverhead. Two thumbs up

Nice place. Spacey bar, plenty of flat screen tv’s. Great selection of beers on tap! Oatmeal stout is very good! Chili was enjoyable, ranch salad was good too, and the sirloin steak with whole peppercorns and gravy is alright. Personally I don’t like peppercorn THAT much… The Irish soda bread is pretty good too. You can really taste the rye! Overall, very cool place. I’ll be back!

Summary of below: Incredibly awful service. Our waitress had a CRAZY attitude the whole time, and was combative from the start. We didn’t end up having food, but as far as the drinks, my partner says the beer flight was good. Full Story: We went out to eat here about a week ago as a family. The waitress sneered at a(pretty reasonable) special request, that she ask the kitchen if they would further blend/purée the chili to accommodate a medical condition. Mind you, our table had also ordered drinks and high-end steaks. When I insisted she at least go back in the kitchen and check, she did so, returned quickly, and confirmed that the kitchen wouldn’t do it. When pressed, she said the restaurant was too busy(the restaurant was more than half empty; knowing I had to make a special request, we purposely did NOT choose a busy restaurant). I offered medical paperwork and expressed that I would be willing to wait a little longer for my food; she said no. We asked to speak to a manager and was told there was none there. So, we cancelled our entire order. The only silver lining was that my partner ordered and received a beer flight before we cancelled, so we stayed another 15 – 20 mins as she finished that; after about 15 mins, a manager DID show up, apologized profusely, said the kitchen should have been able to accommodate me, and comped the flight. So, that was nice(hence, 3 stars instead of 2), but he also used the«busy restaurant» excuse, and that was just… painfully, obviously untrue, as evidenced by only about 30% table occupancy.

I always have lunch at the Bar when I am in the area. The food is great and inexpensive. I’ve had burgers, the Reuben, and tried the specials. There is always a good crowd at the bar. This is a real locals hang out. They do a great job here!!! Thank You!!! Johnny Rocker B

Came here New Years Eve but early in the afternoon. I had a delicious burger and the rest of the table enjoyed their food. My husband has a Reuben and my mother had the fish and chips. Second visit. The bar was more crowded when we came back on a Saturday around 5. I enjoyed the drinks and the wings and would stop back again if I was in the area but wouldn’t drive out of the way to come here. Basic bar fare.
