Fresh home made tortillas! Worth a trip just for the tortillas. Salsa is pretty good(kind of spicy). Drinks are not consistent. Menu is average but the food is pretty good.

I love Anchos! They keep the freshly made flour tortillas flowing and I can’t get enough. My favorite menu item is the Santa Fe salad. That salad is one of my favorite lunches and there’s always enough to take half home for later. The biggest flaw I’ve seen is on the menu. That salad that I love so much is described as «chile pasta and chicken». That’s literally all it says. Here’s what the Santa Fe salad actually includes: Chile pasta, chicken, cantaloupe, iceberg lettuce, pecans, strawberries, cheese, red cabbage and a really awesome dressing. Sounds kinda crazy but it’s delicious!

Can I give them 10 stars?! I love this place! Their strawberry margarita was one of the best I’ve tried. The combination fajitas were so tasteful and the server was kind and helpful when it came to choosing our meal. We came in On Valentine’s Day and I was pleased to see that they honor their call ahead seating! We were sat within 10 minutes of arriving. Will be back for sure!

I am going to keep my review simple. We saw that this place had great reviews so we thought we would try it, not realizing that we have been here once before and didn’t care for it. 1st. The staff is very friendly and helpful(that’s the good) 2nd. The place reminds me of a cafeteria that has tables set up everywhere. What I mean by that is, it’s very loud and very cramped in 1 big open space. Not your typical mexican looking restaurant. 3rd. I saw somewhere this place was ranked number 2 on best margaritas in Riverside. Well, the margaritas are from a frozen machine, like one you would see on the Vegas streets. I guess that’s good in Vegas but in a Mexican restaurant, if I order a margarita I like to know that a bartender is putting some work into it and making it fresh, not just pouring it from a machine. But that’s just me. 4th. And most important… the food is very very bland… now granted we ordered the combo fajitas, which are normally very good and flavorful elsewhere, they were very very bland here. We tried to spice it up with salsa but that also had no taste. Now maybe we missed something that everyone else didn’t because they were packed both times we came. But for us we would prefer ANY other mexican spot then this one, we would have even had a better«meal» at taco bell.

I absolutely loved this food! It was fresh and super deliciohs! I recommend it!!! I ordered the Carne asada fajitas and I could not have been happier. Food was the fast considering they make it fresh. Also, our waiter Ricky was very friendly and very attentative. I gave him a big tip because he earned it! I’m usually picky but this exceeded my expectations. The horchata is to die for!!!

Loved this place. Had the chile rellenos and they were not too spicy which was perfect for me. We went on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy so be sure to go a bit early as you may have to wait a little bit. Wait was only about 10 minutes though. We sat on the outside patio which was covered and it was nice and warm even on a rainy night. Will come again.

Food was pretty good chile relleno rice and beans were sooo good tasted very homemade, the steak was amazing! Flour tortillas amazing too! Oh and the margaritas bomb! Customer service was great. Everything very fairly priced. Definitely coming back. Only bad part was the shredded chicken in my enchilada not much flavor and had too much fat pieces.

Finally, a place that says, «we’ll cook the steak medium for you» and it actually comes out medium! I’ll back up and say that I went to Anchos with a particularly picky group of people, my aunt and grandmother on my dad’s side, whom are Vietnamese. To make it more challenging, my family does not eat meat. Then why go to Anchos? They like the fish dishes. Arrived during happy hour so I had to try one of their house margaritas for $ 4.50. Not bad, except when a couple of the chunky salt pieces from the rim fall in to the glass and you find yourself sucking up a LOT of salt. Can imagine what that’s like. The rest of their happy hour menu included their house wine, a couple of well drinks, and Bud Light, yep, ONLY bud light. Here’s the bright side. The service never fell short of pleasing my family, everything from asking for more tortillas to quicker check turnaround. I kept watch of our server and she never let off any steam or dropped her smile the whole night. I was very impressed with the service, even the host at the front came to my table and asked about the recommendation. Speaking of recommendation, I was informed to try either their ribs or steak fajitas. According to the host, this is why you go to Anchos is to try the ribs or the steak fajitas. Unfortunately I could not eat both in one sitting so I went for the fajitas. Man those were some awesome fajitas. Going back, the steak was cooked with a generous amount of pink in the middle. Couldn’t get anymore delicious. Anchos in Riverside has been around for over a decade and I’m surprised to see that they still got it. I can’t wait to go back and try their ribs. Probably skip the margaritas this time and go for a basic Corona.

I wanted to give Anchos four stars, but I can’t for two reasons. I will start with the bad news first: — Tortillas are freshly made, but not hand made. The tortillera that would normally hand shape and toss the tortilla was instead feeding balls of masa through a tortilla machine. They were tasty and soft, but didn’t have that thin, flakiness I normally look forward to in homemade tortillas. They were much smaller and thicker than I am used to. — Overpriced. If dinner for two is $ 70 after appetizer and all, I expect a little more than what Anchos had to offer. Bad news aside, food was good quality. The combo five I ordered with the skirt steak and shrimp was really tasty. Shrimp was perfectly seasoned and my medium steak was cooked to order. Service was great, and atmosphere was nice as well. If it weren’t for tortillas and price I could give Anchos four stars. We won’t go out of our way to visit here again, but if I am in the area I would definitely come back.

I came here on Sunday 11⁄29 at lunch time to celebrate a birthday. We were a party of 12 and accommodated very well, ever with split checks and the waitress was great. I had a michelada, it was not very good but it was passable. The food was very bland and tasteless, they cook with very little spices if any. Most is mesquite which should enhance spices. Everything was cooked throughly. The price is very high for terrible food. I will not recommend. Side note: after leaving my son(3 years old) walked into a cactus because they have no fence blocking off their garden. Just a sign that says danger in cute writing, my son can not read because he is 3, anyone older than 3 would probably not need a sign because they the needles. This 1st and only Anchos trip will be my last!

Is give the freshly made flour tortillas served with butter 10 stars and everything else 1 star. So if you’re into authentic Mexican food this isn’t the spot. The restaurant appears to be modestly decorated and lacks true interior design. The food lacks authenticity due to the absence of spices and dishes that translate a real Mexican meal. Again if this was solely a review on their tortillas, they’d be exceptional but the food and poorly put together restaurant décor is overrated.

Anchos is by far my favorite restaurant in Corona or Riverside for steak tacos. The flour tortillas are made fresh for you as well as the guac and chips. And the steak? Oh my, bbq’d PERFECTION. Rib steak bbq’d to perfect tenderness w a simple salt rub that not only allows the smokey flavor of the meat come through, but also blends w the steaks natural juices to create a light au jus sauce into every taco. I live that meal there. It is the best. The only gripe I have is that they add a little MORE salt to the guac as its just a tad bit under salted imho. Will be back for more!

We’ve been to Anchos twice over the past couple of months, the first time at the recommendation of friends. We live no where near Anchos but decided to go back just this past weekend due to the draw of their handmade, warm tortillas and butter! YUM! Their prices are reasonable. We have enjoyed all 4 entrees we have tried so far. The service has been great. We felt welcomed and never lacked a drink refill. We are fans and will venture out to Anchos whenever we have tortillas on our minds. Good stuff !!

Pricey, but the place is pretty bomb! I have to say, this place is the best Southwest Mexican food place I have ever been to. The meat is nice and tender, cooked to perfection, salsa is good, tortillas are BOMB, everything is perfect. So good that I don’t really have much to say. I got the combination Rib, steak, and even added the shrimp. Shrimp is not a necessity for me. Next time I’ll just get rib and steak, but i took it home and ate left overs for snack! lol

This restaurant is so cute, I don’t know how or why I barely discovered it. To be honest, the restaurant was in a really weird area, it seemed that the other businesses were closed except this restaurant. Anyways, as my bf and I walked toward the entrance, we got a good whip of bbq smell, it made us more hungry than we were in the beginning. As we walked inside, we were greeted by these cute hostesses in their traditional outfits. We were seated right away with no hassle and our waitress was great! Salsa, chips and freshly made tortillas came as a complimentary! FREE to refill;) I decided to try something new on the menu, which was seafood enchiladas but with only shrimp because you can request to have either shrimp AND crab or having one filling only. I liked it at first but as I ate more I came to realize that it was way too creamy for me. I don’t know what was creamy, most likely the enchiladas sauce. I would love to try another dish next time. But will not order the seafood dish again:(

Come on peeps of Riverside County, who hasn’t eaten here? We’ve been coming here I think close to 18 –19 years. We’ve celebrated birthdays, graduations, and gatherings of neighbors and etc… everyone loves Anchos;) Could it be the bottomless fresh hot flower tortilla? Or the hot fresh tortilla chips or maybe the friendly staff? I don’t know what it is but when you walk in you’re instantly greeted by a friendly hostess and offered ships & salsa if there’s a wait… which there usually is, but we don’t mind because there’s a large bar you can be seated in or a large patio area with a ice cold beer or cocktail. Let’s get this party started before we’re seated at our table. There were 6 of us celebrating a bday and in good spirits. Once we were seated, the waiter ALEX, greeted us emeditly. He was awesome! He got our chips & salsa faster then i can place my purse down. BONUS. drinks quickly served from the bar. So shout out the the bartender! And of course he comes with their homemade flower tortilla. I secretly hoped they tasted better than last time. Last time they hade way too much white flower on them… perfection tonight! Yeah! We ordered 2 appatizer’s, both I was told was yummy. We all ordered the #5 combo. Large shrimp prawns, and their never gone wrong mesquite grilled slices of skirt steak. They offer onions & bell peppers but I was decline because i enjoy the flavor of the meat all by itself. All around delicious dinner and excellent service from ALEX!

So I decided to come to this place after hearing about there home made tortillas. If you ever want to see what a restaurant looked like in the 80’s or have a 80’S party this is your spot boy!!! Ha I ordered the chicken enchiladas they were ok, the drinks are a good price, the salsa lacking flavor like 100xs The customer service was on point though our waiter always made sure our drinks were full and our tortillas where hot and fresh. Anchos hire me to bring some spice in your home !!

Buy the tortillas and then go to Taco Bell. I’m giving two stars for the fresh tortillas and the friendly, quick service. We came in for a late lunch and it smelled heavenly. You could smell meat cooking and we thought we were in for a treat. They bring you chips, salsa and fresh tortillas to your table. You can request butter for the tortillas. We should have done that since the«salsa» was just pureed tomato with a few cilantro leaves. Despite having flecks of char in it, this salsa had no flavor whatsoever, aside from fresh tomato. We ordered the chicken enchiladas in green sauce and the chicken breast fajitas. Both were horrible and went largely uneaten. The enchilada sauce was very acidic and had a strange aftertaste. It could have used some salt or some herbs to balance out the flavor. Inside the enchilada was literally just boiled white and dark meat chicken. No attempt at flavoring was visible nor could I taste it. The tortillas were weirdly brittle too, not like the soft, fluffy ones they brought to the table. The order came with three. I choked down one and then my mom tried a bite of a second one. The chicken breast fajitas were poorly done. Our order came out suspiciously fast, so that might have had something to do with it. It’s a big portion of chicken, but again, no flavor. It just tastes like plain chicken on the grill. The peppers and onion underneath were undercooked(still crunchy) and didn’t even have salt and pepper or anything else on them. The only saving grace was the side of rice and beans. The rice had a hint of tomato flavor, though I wouldn’t necessarily prefer it over the Uncle Ben’s kind you microwave. The beans are pinto, served in their own juice, with bacon. However, they don’t render the bacon down first(as evidenced by the limp, fatty, flat pieces) so they’re just a waste of calories and don’t impart any flavor. It’s just a good heads-up for anyone that doesn’t consume pork. It kills me to hate this place because I’d love to have a closer go-to Mexican spot than Chilitos or Super Mex. But I can’t with this place. Nothing we tried had seasoning or flavor, Mexican or otherwise.
