Wow I am pretty impressed. This place is exactly what you would expect when coming to a diner. I would imagine some of the other reviewers don’t quite get what a diner is, good homemade food with large portions, great service and a bright, quiet, diner environment. This place checks all those boxes. Prices are great and the food comes fast. Plus they serve cocktails which is always a plus. Look forward to coming back and trying breakfast. Oh and Dianne our server was a rockstar.

We hadn’t been since the place had just changed from Joe’s Italian. The first time we had a patty melt and it was excellent but the rest of the menu was kinda blah so we left unimpressed. We went again tonight and the menu is much better now with a greater selection of burgers and sandwiches among other things. Our server Diane was great. She’s very outgoing and friendly without being annoying. Looking forward to trying breakfast there which by the way is served all day. I think we’re going to be regulars now.

I feel bad for not liking this place, because we really need a diner around here. We tried it twice, and decided it’s too pricey for food that isn’t very good. 3 of us dined each time, and all of the dishes were pretty flavorless. The atmosphere looks like a low grade bar, not a place you want to take people to.

I would rate this place 0 stars if it was possible. The service was terrible … There were only 4 people in the entire restaurant and yet the waitress never refilled our drinks, they brought our appetizer out at the same time as our food, and they messed up our order. The setting was unpleasant and the food tasted like it was just taken out of the freezer & microwaved for us. I would never go back. I couldn’t wait to leave & was incredibly disappointed.

We’ve tried Dorrys a few times, and both times we were not impressed. Nothing was delicious or stood out. We went right after they opened and figured we would try again after a few months. I tried different items both times and was disappointed both. I haven’t tried breakfast so maybe we’ll see if third time is the charm. If I had multiple choices of places to go Dorrys would not be my choice.

I had some friends eat at Dorry’s and say they liked it, so I decided to give them a try. I wish I hadn’t. Over $ 50 for breakfast for 3, which I find to be quite a bit more than it should have been, but what really surprised me was the quality of the food. I’ve never, in my life, thrown away sausage, but after this visit, I threw a sausage patty and two sausage links in the trash. How can you make sausage with virtually no taste? I’m not sure, but somehow, Dorry’s has done it. There was a very strong sage taste, but other than that, not much flavor at all. The potatoes were alright and the eggs were, well, eggs, but the gravy biscuit was incredibly bland and the country fried steak was equally flavorless. The salsa did have a lot of flavor, but it was not good at all. I’m not sure about the good reviews or my friends for that matter, but I found the dining experience at Dorry’s to be completely unsatisfactory. I will say that the service was friendly and prompt, which is good considering we were the only customers at the time, but I would never consider eating there again.

Dorry’s Diner moved into my area not all that long ago, and I had breakfast there today with a friend of mine who is a regular there. It’s very comfortable and the waitresses are friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and I would happily go again. Our waitress Kara was very nice and gave us great service, and another waitress there, Wendy, stopped by to visit for a moment with my friend as they all know each other.

As I live nearby, I was excited to have a new restaurant in town. I was so disappointed. I walked in and it was the same as the Italian place that used to be there. Upon entering you’ll notice the large bar, mirrors and wine bottle fabric on the booths. Not a diner atmosphere. Four of us visited, 1 had an undercooked gigantic omelette, another had a breakfast burrito with a hair sitting under it. None of us really ate much. I asked the server about their home fries, she didn’t know what was in them. The portions are huge which I find unappetizing and wasteful.

I don’t understand the bad reviews on here for Dorry’s. I’ve been here twice so far and loved both of my meals. The balsamic dressing on the salad is enough for me to come back(I don’t know if they make it or not). My first time here was for dinner and I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day. Everything was delicious and felt liked it was a nice home cooked meal(potatoes were great but too much butter). I’ve also had the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado. Added a little BBQ sauce and it was a great sandwich. Nice wait staff and good prices. Definitely recommended.

My husband and I were looking for a Friday morning breakfast place.(Coco’s on central recently closed) We decided to try Dorrys Diner on Van Buren in the Woodcrest area. We were pleasantly surprised… The food was pretty good, I had eggs, bacon(cooked perfectly) and French Toast(loved it!). Our server, Lindsay was very friendly! Ambiance was ok. We will go back.

Overall it was a decent place. I came here for my breakfast break from work. The servers and hosts were nice and inviting. I got the«hot» louisana sausage omelette. The sausage was not hot(spicy) and also it tasted like a hot dog. that was a little saddening. I also got a side of french toast for a dollar. That was cool. The French Toast was decent also. The best part was the syrup they brought it out and it was hot. Hot pour able syrup is a win in my book. The hash browns that came with the omelette were solid. If this place maybe lowered their whole menu by a couple dollars then it would reflect the quality. If you want to try a little diner give it a try.

I would love to redecorate this place! This restaurant has so much potential because the food is good but a more modern atmosphere would attract a lot more people. The mirrors need to be ripped off the walls! I have a feeling the owners were trying to not spend a ton of money to get this new business up and running but pinterest does wonders even for the people that don’t have a creative bone in their body. One last thing to note: kegs of both Bud Light & Coors were completely out on Thursday night at 8 pm … a night they advertise as «Thirsty Thursday» 2.99 a glass. How convenient!

Friendly staff. Clean spot… But they decided to keep all the horrible deco that made Famous Joes. Honestly the only thing I even liked about famous joes was the Stromboli. Man am I going to miss that thing! Well out with the old in with the new… I think! Nice large appealing breakfast menu. Dinner menu was so so. Made up of a lot of burgers and sandwiches. I ordered the clam chowder and garlic bread. This was only 4.99 and it was tasty, lots of clams and large. My son ordered the avocado bacon cheeseburger and fries. Fries were plain o’l fries not seasoned. My son complained about his bun being stale. My hubby ordered fried chicken, fries and broccoli. 11.99 Coming back to try out the breakfast. Still miss my Stromboli.

My mom and I decided to stop in here yesterday afternoon for breakfast/lunch. Now I’m not sure if this is part of a chain because there used to be another place down off magnolia called Dorrys that we used to frequent as well. Got seated quickly, waitress came and took our drink order. Well a second waitress did at first. Glanced over both the breakfast and lunch menu, we both decided on lunch. I got the grilled chicken Ceasar salad, she got the salad and patty melt. She wasn’t impressed with the salad seeing as it was just lettuce and a couple croutons. The ranch was home made and tasted good though. We also ordered a cup of their soup which was mushroom and barley, it wasn’t my kind of soup but she enjoyed it. More of a brotha soup accompanied by some veggies and rice. Now with my meal it said the salad came with croutons and some garlic bread, upon getting my meal I got neither. I had asked for my salad with the dressing on the side and it came on it. The waitress previously let me know that it did because the system did not send it to the back to the chefs. I didn’t want have her remake it so I just kept it. She did offer to bring me some more salad to help thin out the dressing which was nice. Over all my salad was just«okay» nothing really stood out with it but it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever had. My mom Enjoyed her meal for the most part. The best part was out waitress was very pleasant and wonderful. She was busy but still kept coming back and did address my needs. I will be back to give some different foods a go. Hopefully over some time everything will fall together and I will update my review when I return.

Came in a few days ago for lunch. Tucked in the corner of a small plaza in Woodcrest, it’s a decent sized place and they have a lot of TV’s around too. Place has been open for a little bit more than a week, didn’t know the place opened up. Would have been nice to see a sign saying it was open, or maybe an ad in the mail. I had the Philly Cheesesteak and fries for lunch. Priced at $ 9.89, sandwich had a lot of meat, onions and peppers. Portion of fries was pretty good too, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The meat in the cheesesteak was really dry and not too flavorful though. Food took a while to come out but I’ll be forgiving considering that the place just opened. Waitresses were nice and friendly. If you live in the Woodcrest area of Riverside, this is an acceptable spot to eat at if you want something close by. Everything was pretty average for the most part, service, food, etc. My only issue is that I feel that the prices are a little too high to compete with other diners in the area. It’s hard to offer chicken fried steak for $ 12 when there’s a billboard for a competing place a few blocks down promoting a similar meal for $ 8. I wouldn’t mind coming back if they started offering cheaper breakfast/lunch specials, but as of right now, the prices are what’s keeping me from wanting to come back.
