Grapow Thai

Food is usually really good, but the service is fairly subpar. I avoid coming for dinner, because it takes a LONG time to get anything. You are better off coming for lunch and avoid the stress. It will be a much more enjoyable experience.

Decided to give this local place a whirl on a Saturday afternoon.
Awesome place to eat; they have a lunch special which was quite the deal about $ 10 for orange chicken, fried rice, a dumpling, wonton and salad. Hubby got grapow chicken lunch and it was good– a nice spicy dish and a healthier choice than mine. ;)
I like the lemon salad dressing and the orange chicken was real white meat not a bunch of breaded tiny pieces. The appearance of our meals was very nice and taste was excellent.
I wish it wasn’t so dark in the restaurant. I know they are setting a calming vibe but honestly it’s hard to read the menu. Also the restaurant itself was narrow so we had to dodge other patron’s chairs when being shown to our table.
Looking forward to trying other dishes!

Best Thai Food ever! Great favor, unique taste. I highly recommend this restaurant for all the Thai enthusiasts and anyone wanting to try something new. The appetizers were very delicious, very flavorful (chicken slammers are amazing). Everything was the best hands down

Great food real close to home! My family and I come here at least once a week. The food is just so phenomenal and we can’t get enough! Such a clean environment and very friendly staff. The food is so fresh and hot everytime it comes out of the kitchen!

I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER, EAT HERE AGAIN.
Let me begin by saying that I have eaten at Grapow about three times for lunch and twice for dinner in the past and have really loved the food.
I’m writing this review because the last time I was there for lunch, the service was slow and uninspired (for lack of a better word). Our server really didn’t seem to give a damn… and the wait for both food and the bill at the end was longer than what is tolerable for a business lunch. I let that experience go, however, until the new low of yesterday.
I arrived at 12:48 to place a carry out order at the bar. My order for two lunch specials was taken promptly (by 12:50, hooray), I paid promptly and sat back to await my food.
And I waited. And I waited. And I waited.
The waitress behind the bar went back to check on things at the twenty minute mark, said, «not ready yet… we’re so busy,» and left me sitting there some more. (I think it is reasonable to expect food that is ordered off a «lunch special menu» to come out within 15 minutes… isn’t that part of the business model for catering to a working clientele on a weekday?)
At the 30 minute mark (with still no food), another server asked if I’d been helped… I explained I’ve been waiting forever for food and that I had to go.
She checked on my food… still not ready!
I cancelled my order. I gave my card to have her refund the price of two lunches… only to discover today that she CHARGED my card again for food I didn’t get instead of refunding the two meals.
So, despite the promise to myself that I would never set foot inside this restaurant again… I have to… just to clear up the money issue.
Other than that, they’ve lost a customer that they will never get back.

I would love to give this place a higher rating because the food is amazing. DO NOT COME HERE FOR DINNER. The service and wait is not worth it.
If you have a couple of hours to wait for your dinner reservation to be seated and then another hour for your food, then this is the place to be.
My suggestion is come during their off peak time at lunch. Much more pleasant atmosphere and less headache.

Came here during a weekday work lunch break. It wasn’t too busy and we were seated near the new bar area which was really nice. I ordered the BBQ Beef Lunch Special. The side salad it came with was a really nice sized portion and the meat was very well seasoned and I was able to get vegetables substituted for rice (and even those tasted great!). The only surprise was that the beef was basically a steak and not sliced, but the flavor was spot on. I would definitely like to return for a few other items and especially the happy hour and brunch specials!

Pineapple fried rice. Good.
Garlic edamame. Good.
Thai iced tea. Good.

Seriously? Phone line was busy the first two times I called, the third time it rang 12 times. Totally unprofessional.

Answer your phones! How am I supposed to place a phone order if you dont answer? The first time I called the phone rang for over two minutes before I hung up. The second time I called, I gave up after a minute, and the third time I called the line was busy. This isn’t the first time this has happened, and it’s incredibly frustrating. Get another line or something. It’s unprofessional and unacceptable. When I worked at a restaurant, we were expected to answer the phone in less than three rings. Now I have to wait at the restaurant for the food I intended to order to-​go.
Ambience is nice. Food is ok. Husband likes it much more than me. However, the next time I try to place a to-​go order and they DONT answer my call, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Last chance. Get it together.

They never disappoint. They have plenty of options, and daily deals. It’s family owned, and Patrick is aw some. I’ve been coming here forever. If you’re new to Thai food just a side note, their rating numbers for hot are different than most. I love spicy, but I usually only do a 5. Once I did an 8, ummm oh, that was spicy. It’s better to go a little lower, and ask for the chili on the side, they bring you over a few to choose from. The place consistently has people in it every time I go. You will have a pleasant experience from the time you walk in until the time you leave. It’s always clean, and decorated quite nicely.
Have an appetite, to me the portions are large.

Any time I am in Riverside this where I go. They have GREAT food and also a sushi bar (check serving time, not open as late as the bar but they still have great appetizers. AWESOME full bar as well (check out the Thai Fighter Long Island Iced Tea). Patrick the owner treats everyone like a friend and not a customer. Come check this place out!

Excellent service, huge portions for lunch specials! Loads of flavor, tons of meat in the pad se eew and yellow chicken curry. Large salad and tasty dumpling included. Outdoor seating is nice and comfy with padded cushions to make sitting outside bearable but people smoke in the patio bar area next door unfortunately. Bar side has just opened with loud oldies music, not my favorite channel but everyone we saw their was in their late 40s to late 50s and it was very busy but they were still very efficient.

Why doesn’t anyone mention their sushi? It escapes me. The freshest fish, expertly prepared with rice and sauce. Delicious prerequisite for any meal.
Then just circle the Pacific Rim with curries, noodles, and other delicacies expertly prepared equally in skill and quality as the sushi.
Also the wait staff is AWESOME!

Amazing. We eat here about 2 times a week.
SUSHI IS OFF THE HOOK! Omg best sushi ever! Fresh daily delivery, super fun place, people of all ages. Met the owner, cool guy! I recommend this place to EVERYONE. All of the food is great! They also have servers galore ! Never have an empty cup! !

Food is great that’s one thing we can’t take from this location. The chicken friend rice with a spice level of 6 is really tasty. The winter rolls are amazing with so much flavor you can’t help but order more.
The service is pretty decent. There has been times where I waited a little longer than I would like to be seated or for my server. The staff seems genuine in being polite and helpful.
I will to continue to come back many times over I just wish the customer experience could improve a bit.

So I’ve been wanting to try this place… well I did.
Here’s my experience… Pleasantly greeted and seated. Ordered drinks… she forgot. Finally placed our order… our fault we really didn’t know what we wanted… since it was our first time. Can’t remember how long it took for us to get our order. Ok refill time… HELLO…refill…it took 20+ minutes and I had to ask «twice». Ok I’m done… check please… check please… another 20+ minutes. Awww but I wanted some Mango and sticky rice. May we have a refill… the check and an order of Mango and sticky rice? Second time (another person)…may we have a refill check and an order of Mango and sticky rice? Check PLEASE and a container…15mins later.
I gave it all together *star. The Sticky rice & Mango…***stars please use less salt or none. Food ***stars. Service *star. Will I return???

The beef salad is flavorful along with the garlic noodle with shrimp hit the spot. Thai tea is amazing, its the perfect little treat. Glad to see the bar open I have to come back for happy hour real soon.

Great place to eat! Hidden gem, unexpected to find such great Thai food in this Riverside shopping center.
Always clean, always fast and friendly service. Food is always fresh. Pricing is reasonable. We never wait long for a table or our meals. Owner is a nice guy who we see in there from time to time. He is usually the casually dressed gentlemen behind the bar.
They recently opened up a bar next door, which does get crowded and loud. Eating here for dinner is a different experience than during the day. Lunch time is peacful and quiet. Dinner is loud and more of a fast pace environment… but all in all, no complaints from me. Can’t wait to go back.
