Oh My Goodness! This place is IN-credible! I have only gone for the buffet dinners on Friday and Saturday nights, but wow, is it good. You would not know how amazing it is by the non-descript outside. Inside is not fancy, but the food is consistently excellent and the price is fantastic. Every time I go the buffet offerings are slightly different, but always great. The baba gnoush is wonderful, the falafel’s are delish, lentil soup is to die for. He often serves lamb, chicken and an assortment of deliciousness. The rose-water desert is so unusual and great. Really, I do not know how to convey how much we love this place and the kind people who work there.

great buffet for the price. $ 12 for dinner buffet on a Friday. Really good deal for what you get. So sad it’s closed now!

I love Mediterranian food(well mainly their chicken kebab) but when you’ve dined at Dayra’s in Orange or Open Sesame in LB this place doesn’t even begin to compare. I mean their pita bread is cold and there’s nothing like fluffy pita bread fresh out of the oven. The chicken still has good flavor but I would rather drive across to LB or OC. Me no likey. :(

I have been there several times, and they confirm it is halal. Go on Friday or Saturday and get the all you can eat buffet. The food is pretty good, it’s not the absolute best I have had but still pretty good. There is not that 1 dish that stands out or is particularly excellent but overall I can recommend it.

I really should give this place a five, but I just cant because I was totally uncomfortable while I was there for a number of reasons haha, but the food was sooooo good BETTER than Elia’s Pita — yes, true story :-) I went last night and ended up showing up during buffet hours, which are Friday and Saturday nights… and afternoons I believe. The buffet was well stocked, all it was missing was a grilled beef selection, though it dive have some kind of roasted on the bone beef which tasted a lot like ox tails. For the hot stuff they had that, some roasted chicken, some fried chicken thighs, some kufta, and some rice, and for the salad bar they had tahini, salad, pickled stuff, really, really smooth hummus, really soft pita bread, and some cold potatoes which I wasnt expecting to like, but cold potatoes taste surprisingly good haha. For two people eating the buffet and two drinks it was just about $ 40. They also had some kind of custard and a coconut cake with a mealy texture but was still pretty good. But yea, my only gripe was the area, scary people outside and judgmental people inside. Oh well, I was a happy camper :-)

George. You are as good as it gets. And here you are practically in my backyard. Nice. Our choices? *A three kabob plate(chicken and beef tenderloin and lamb) with good rice, a generous serving of delicious hummus and a salad. The meat was tender and wonderful, but if we had to choose, the lamb was the least favorite. *Three shoulder cut lamb chops, beautifully marinated, and the same sides. *A vegetarian platter that featured my favorites: hummus, baba ganoush, tabouli grape leaves, and falafel. And of course salad. In all the craziness I completely forgot pictures. Well, guess that is a good indicator of the passion of which I vacuumed this delicious food down. And I sure cannot regret the prices either. My only regret would be the location. Not the best, but it would not influence my coming back. You now have at least three new customers. Yum and Amen.

Don’t order the buffet, their made to order food is divine, I’m talking breath taking. On the other hand, the buffet sucks bad, the beef kafta was gross and tasteless, the chicken was great so are a few other items, but that beef kafta ruined my day as I drove 20 or so miles to get there and be disappointed in the buffet which costs $ 15 bucks with a drink. Might as well just get your food made to order.

I fell for it again! A 4-star Unilocal rating in the IE is sub-par LA/Orange County standards. It’s hard looking for a decent restaurant that’s not fast food in Riverside. I was looking for a Subway, however, saw Mr Kebab at the plaza adjacent to Subway and noticed a 4-star Unilocal rating. It’s an open space restaurant with a weird set up. The cashier is at the back of the restaurant next to the kitchen. I walk up and the waitress hand me a menu and I order a chicken shawerma with garlic, chicken, lettuce, hummus, «hold the tomato» of course. In 10 minutes it’s ready and head back to work and eat. I bite into this shawerma and things unfold… Dry chopped up, old chicken which was re-fried, wilted lettuce, barely any garlic sauce(yes, I’m spoiled since I grew up in Glendale and lived on Zankou for years), and was missing hummus. Thoroughly disgusting and a waste of my $ 5.39. What’s worse is this garlic breath that will take me a few hours to get rid of. Back to lunch to finish my fuji apple which taste better.

This is amazing food very tasty. Had the beef shawerma with rice, hummus and salad. The food was awesome. They cook it very well. Has the Baqlava this was super sweet. My dieting went out the door. II loved the food here and I will have to come back for some tasty treats. Awesome, the weather in this area is hot and so cold drinks are a must and I had the Nestle lemon water. This is a must try drink and available at any store.

Three of us ate here on a Thursday night. We had eaten at the sister restaurant in Loma Linda/Redlands and the experience and food was excellent, so we decided to try this location since it was closer to home, even though the shopping center in which it is located looks seedy. The restaurant itself inside is clean and not seedy at all. The food was every bit as good as the food in the sister restaurant. The portions are large, so be careful how much you order. You can make a good meal out of the appetizers themselves if you know what you are ordering. My wife and I had the chicken kebab(though the plate goes by a different name). It comes with salad, rice, chicken kebab off of the skewer, humus, and Syrian bread. The flavor of the chicken was out of this world. The hummus, salad, and long grain white rice were all very good. For dessert we had a piece of baklava and I had Turkish coffee(the only kind of coffee they serve). Our guest was content with appetizers. She had the baba gounish, grape-leaves, and something else. She found them all very satisfying and took home leftovers from her appetizers as did we from our meals – that’s how big the portions are. Though I didn’t have any this time, I imagine their kibbih(sp?) is as good as their sister store and I would recommend it if you crave it. You can also get takeout and I plan on doing that one of these hot summer days.

Mr Kebab is a hole-in-the-wall Mediterranean gem. The food is fresh & delicious and they have by far the best garlic sauce I’ve ever had(but, then, I am partial to the Syrian take on any food really). On weekends and during Ramadan they have an amazing buffet for about $ 11! On other days, huge combination plates run around $ 13 and a la carte dishes run $ 5-$ 10. The Good: –Decent prices –Flavorful food –Nice staff –Family owned –Large parking lot –AMAZING buffet Friday & Saturday The Bad: –You absolutely cannot go on a date for two days after eating the garlic sauce. Trust. The Skinny: –Accepts credit cards –Great for groups –Wheelchair accessible –Take out available –100% Halal

Tasty buffet though the selection left me sad. The chicken and beef dishes were great. They have salad bar, some pita chips that go well with the hummus they serve. Drinks aren’t included. Sad about that but better for me anyways. Great place to eat but don’t come expecting a lot of variety. This is as staple as it gets.

I was craving some Mediterranean food and this place was pretty close by. It was actually the best Mediterranean food I’ve been too. I bought the mixed shawarma plate(beef and chicken) and it definitely hit the spot. I tend to eat a lot and I find myself overly stuffed after finishing the plate. The meat was delicious. The rice was cooked well and very good. The salad was fresh but it was okay. The hummus was good. I just wished the pita bread were served warm. Next time I should try the AYCE if i come here during the weekend. I wish I knew about this place earlier. :(

I came here during the AYCE lunch buffet, and I wasn’t expecting much(I mean come on, a buffet? How often is that delicous?). Boy was I slapped in the face with amazing-ness. I wanted to keep eating but at some point my stomach couldn’t take anymore. It was all so delicious. Few issues though. It’s a little out of the way in the middle of nowhere so that coupled with the fact that Zorba’s is nearby(and stealing their attention) makes them pretty empty. That said, with so few people, how long has the food been sitting? I don’t think it’s long though, cause I didn’t get sick, and I have a pretty sensitive stomach. So either way, I like.

We had the $ 11.99 weekend AYCE buffet. Let’s just say it hit the spot. For the most part, I didn’t know what I was eating; it was good nonetheless. Very flavorful and delicious. I left pleased.

In the middle of freaking no where is this little gem. It’s near Zorbas! I’m slowly getting into Middle Eastern food, and I like it even more because of Mr. Kebab. When you get seated you are given a plate of olives and pickled radishes, and a basket of pita bread. The hummus and pita bread here are bomb. I ordered the 3 meat plate. I got lamb kebab, chicken and beef shawarma. It was really good. The lamb was super juicy, the shawarma tasted great. Also, the service is great here!

I feel like I’m missing something. We came here for the weekend buffet recently and left disappointed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve eaten this type of food, so unidentifiable dishes and meats are just unacceptable. The other basics like hummus were kind of bland too. My friends assure me that ordering off the menu is better… if I ever go back and agree I’ll update my review.

I ordered the baba ganoush and tabbouleh as an appetizer and the mixed platter that consisted of rice, salad and 3 types of meat; lamb, chicken and beef. The lady told me it was a lot of food and she’ll get a to go box ready but she didn’t realize who I was. I was the little Asian kid who was determined to leave extremely happy The baba ganoush wasn’t the best but it was still good. Tabbouleh was on point and the proportion was one of the biggest i’ve seen from a restaurant. Lamb was amazingly juicy and perfect. Chicken could have been maybe a little more moist but since its white meat, hard to beat. The beef mix was well seasoned. Overall… I was one extremely happy Asian walking out of Mr Kebab with no to go box. Booyashakka! Sorry, got a little excited :) P. S. Their garlic tzatziki sauce was pretty bomb, I had to ask for it though as it didn’t come out with the meals. Before I left one of the server said Fridays and Saturdays all day has buffet menu… i’ll take that on next time!

I came here for dinner and I decided to get entrée instead of the buffet, don’t know why but whatever. They had a huge selection of meals to offer. I got the chicken and beef shawerma plates; the plate was huge! The hummus was yummy as well as the rice. The chicken and beef were also pretty good. One thing I wished they did was bring out warm pita bread instead of room temperature pita bread. Tiny fail. Service was very nice and attentive. However, I feel like the establishment needs a little update, or maybe I shouldn’t compare it to the Mr. Kebab in Redlands, which is much nicer. Overall a good establishment. I would come here again if I am in the mood for Mediterranean food in Riverside.
