In my opinion. better than boiling crab. All day. Nice little spot. Customer service is good. Been here several times. Never had a bad experience. Highly recommend if you are in the area. The Cajun fries are on point.

I wanted to try this place because some of my friends compared it to boiling crab… and boiling crab is way better! I mean the shrimp is pretty good and it tastes good! I think the stuff on their menu is a little more expensive than usual(ex: corn is $ 1 more, I think). The cajun fries are just OK. Also the oysters don’t take fresh. They are way too big and it’s hard to eat.

You guys have won me over! We went in at 4pm and there weren’t too many people. Everyone was so friendly! We picked a large booth and were greeted by Kevin. Kevin was so helpful and went above and beyond. We weren’t sure what spice level to get, he recommended the medium which has a nice spice to it. He also brought us the chili oil they use to spice up their sauce, as well as samples of the spicy sauce to try for ourselves. The medium is prefect and doesn’t overwhelm. We ordered the first family bucket. It comes with shrimp, an order or potatoes(3)corn(2) and sausage approx 5 pieces, then you pick two other fish/shellfish options. We got 2 lbs of shrimp and 1lb of Clams. Also ordered fries, and rice. Great portions! The Clams were amazing, big and fresh! The shrimp were sweet and perfectly cooked. The corn wasnt soggy and the potatoes trap the heat and spice yum! This place is delicious, lots of garlic, lots of sauce. There was a lot of food, enough to take home and enjoy later. Kevin and I discussed the many cajun seafood places I’ve tried in So cal, Nor Cal and Oregon. I love 2 places up north that are awesome including the boiling crab in San Jose. My favorite down in So Cal is Claws, unfortunately they burned down and there only other location is in El cerrito. no thanks I got tired of driving to GG to begin with. So I tried Rockstar shrimp, fail! Way too salty, we had very little shrimp and left unsatisfied. Thank you Star Crab, I’ve found my new place!

I would definitely recommend getting the chicken wings cuz it comes with seasoned fries. Customer service was great. We had a batch of crawfish and it wasn’t that fresh, so they made a new half pound for us to try and it was way better than the first batch we had. They didn’t charge us for the crawfish at all, but we left a big tip on their service. Overall, it’s a great place! :))

Star crab you have seriously won me over on the first try! I was told this place usually has a line out the door but we were able to get seated immediately when coming in at 7:30pm on a Monday night. All the servers are friendly and very attentive. We chose the family dinner for 32.95, onion rings, fresh oysters, and a pitcher of Amber rock. Everything came out fast! Beer was delicious and the onion rings were huge and so crispy. The portion of the oysters were huge. We chose the full house sauce and medium spice. Medium spice was a biiiit too spicy for my mom so if you have a low spice tolerance id just go for mild. The family dinner we chose came with sausages, potatoes, two corn, and we chose two pounds of shrimp and one mussel! Everything we ordered was just perfect for the 3 of us who came in very hungry. We left stuffed and very happy :) I would definitely come again!

My Favorite seafood restaurant by far! We love the full house seasoning with extra garlic! The Cajun fries are the best! You can’t go wrong with the shrimp/crab with sausage and potatoes. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We eat here often:) I took my family to eat here who were visiting from Louisiana and they loved it.

Let me tell you how you’re being cheated. When you purchase 2 pounds of shrimp, you receive shrimp and sauce that equals 2 pounds. You get less shrimp and more sauce. You’re paying $ 12-$ 13 in sauce. I went in and purchased 2 pounds of shrimp and got 1 pound of shrimp and 1 pound of sauce. I also purchased 2 pounds of crab legs and I received just two clusters of crab legs and the total was $ 28. That is $ 28 for two clusters of snow crab legs. When I go to the grocery store and I asked for 2 pounds, I get almost 8 clusters of crab legs not two. The owner is cheating everybody!!! You have been warned!!!

Ileana is the best person on the planet. She was very sweet and made me feel welcomed. I came with a friend and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. I definitely will be coming back and telling my friends to join as well.

Star Crab is my ABSOLUTE favorite shrimp joint in town! I visit here frequently; on dates, with friends, with family and all by myself this one time because I couldn’t resist! I usually order 2 lbs of shrimp with all of the spices and at medium heat. DELICIOUS! In the bag, I usually order sausage and potatoes and on the side, an order of their seasoned fries and a beer! Ahhhh! The flavors are out of this world! I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to ALL who enjoy flavorful seafood. Truly a hidden gem in this city.

This is comparable to Bubba Gumps and The Boiling Crab but cheaper and more laid back. The food is good and the servers are nice but they neglect to check on the tables enough. We arrived and told them we would wait for a booth since all were full. We waited 20 – 25 minutes and decided fine, we will just get take a table. The reason there were no booths is because the servers are slow and rarely check on their tables. They finally go to take the payment for a table 5 minutes after we ordered. I ask if we can take their booth since there was no one in line and the server said sorry we can’t switch tables after you order. I like this place but I’ve never heard of that. I’m just gonna get it to go from now on.

I love this place and I am not even a fan of seafood! I’ve gone two times already and both times the food was great. They bring it out to you in a very timely manner and it always taste fresh and thoroughly cooked. Plus they give you a nice amount of food for about 30 bucks between two people, you will definitely leave satisfied. I can’t wait til my wisdom teeth extractions heal, it’s the first place I have on my list lol!

im so addicted to this place! i hope they stay in business for a long time… i came back here multiple times in different days, im so addicted to their FULLHOUSEFLAVOR! ****be careful, for those who has high cholesterol**** i admit, i’ve never tried boiling crab before bec. its too far and everytime i step foot there, i had to wait. my cousin says this is close to boiling crab, so that’ll be my next goal. the service is quick, everytime i go here. menu is already on the table, i think one of the waitress there already knows me, cuz when i accidentally ordered clams — frozen, she thought i meant crawfish! this time i ordered with appetizers, the sweet potato fries, is just right. not too sweet and not too salty either. their clam chowder is really good, very creamy compared to other clam chowder’s i’ve tasted(most of them their potatoes are in big cubes), the potatoes are mashed, added with crushed bisquits. ooh wee! its sooo good! but be careful, its too hot! even after eating a pound of shrimp and crawfish, the clam chowder is still hot, think i burned my tongue ;P one thing, that turns me off is they dont do half a pound, how is that? at least give your customers some options. if you’re waiting for the menu, its right on top of your backseat.

Decided to finally try this place I have to say it was not a disappointment’ Pros: 1.They give you samples at your request of the different flavors 2.You get a free corn with your shrimp 3.Per your request they will provide gloves 4.Nice size soda 5.Staff very helpful and nice 6.Fast service 7.We didn’t have to ask for salt, pepper, limes or bibs 8.Food had plenty of sauce no need to request extra juicy or extra sauce 9.Prices and menu about the same as any of your favorite seafood boil places like boiling crack or hot and juicy Cons: They don’t have a non-spicy option for the Full house, lemon pepper, or Cajun sauce options. My guess is because of the Cajun kick. At Least it wasn’t unbearably spicy or hot. Another con would be it’s a little on the salty side. More pros then cons. If you are a boiling crab fan that lives in the Corona/Riverside area and don’t wanna take the drive to the OC this is the place you should try. Gave 4 stars due to the cons I listed. However I will be back.

First timer. Ate with the family today for lunch. We ordered the Calamari,(a must have in our family, and it came with fries yayyy) the Snow Crab family feast which priced just under 100, but the portion did our family of 5 right. My husband always eats his heart out as well as the kids, with seafood, so they were satisfied. Both of our blue crab nearly didn’t have meat in them, but being that I’ve personally bought blue crab myself fresh and have been unfortunate, didn’t really take this the wrong way. The we had hot garlic and pepper, mild, on that and ordered crawfish with Cajun hot. They both had good flavor, not too too much not too too little. The service was okay. We didn’t really see much of them, but at the same time because we were enjoying our own entertainment, it mattered little; however, if it were more busy I do hope they are more attentive. Great find indeed!

Love this place better than boiling crab! I like that the sauce is not too liquidy! Get the shrimp with full house sauce and throw some sausages in the bag and BAM! You have a happy tummy!

For me to be giving a place like Star Crab a 5 star review, it is a wonderment. You see, I steer clear of places like this. I usually do not like the sauce or the seafood. And this time, I liked both. Correction. I loved both. You see, we had two birthdays to celebrate. My son and my daughter(born almost exactly 6 years apart) both wanted this kind of feast. We usually have a similar ritual we do at home, at our own dining room table, covered with newspaper for easy cleanup. And our meal has much tamer flavors, boiled in beer and Old Bay spices. And seriously gobbled down with lots of melted butter. But we did not want the mess and hassle this year for sundry reasons. The son had already been here several times and insisted we try it. So, whole shrimp and whole Dungeness crabs in their«full house, mild» sauce was our alternative. With very little wait, our un-dainty order started arriving at our paper-covered table. First, two appetizers — fried oysters and raw oysters laced with ponzu sauce. Then, out came four plastic bags of steaming hot, red, thick sauce, two filled with shrimp(head and all) and spicy sausage, two with whole, uncracked crabs. We were handed some small scissors to snip away at the soft shells(this worked well) and some shell crackers for the crab(didn’t work at all) and we were on our own. Oh yes. And we were offered some plastic gloves and bibs to keep those of us who felt inclined, properly clean. This is definitely a juicy, messy project, so take them seriously. And there were tons of lemon wedges and small plastic containers of a salt and pepper mix nearby. No S&P shakers here for obvious reasons. I dreaded my first slippery bite. I just knew it was going to be overcooked, and overly spicy, and I would leave the restaurant still hungry and feeling like my lips and tongue had been injected with Novocain. But it never happened. And I humbly admit I was terribly wrong. The shrimp was tender and tasty. The sliced sausage, fabulous. The crabs, sweet(although a lot of work for so little reward IMHO). The sauce, so flavorful. All in all, our party of 6 decimated three pounds of shrimp, two crabs, two orders of fried oysters, and a platter of 8 raw oysters. But this time I did not sit and watch as the others stuffed their faces. Me come away hungry? Hah! And best of all, my tongue and lips still had feeling in them, only slightly impaired. Now, not all was perfection. I would not go back for the fried oysters. They were ordinary and anti-climactic after my first bite of shrimp. However, the fries that came with the oysters, those were addictive. Not your ordinary fries, sort of like they were dusted with a spicy, seasoned flour before frying because they had a bubbly, crispy outer coating. And just so you know, after everyone declared their undying love for the house sauce(and there was an abundance), we decided to consolidate the leftover sauce and bring it home to our freezer. They were in plastic bags that were just going to be tossed anyway, and besides, nobody said we couldn’t. So… now we can have one more tasty seafood feast in the comfort of our own home. Shhhh! All being said, this place you can blow through some good money. For over $ 160 we fed 6 grown adults and two small children. And no leftovers. Not real pricy, not real cheap. But everyone was well fed and walked away happy. A great place for a family feast with personality. Oh, and I was not inclined to take pictures unless I wanted my phone to smell of Cajun sauce for several months. Sorry.
