Fantastic food & presentation everytime. Best Chinese food in town in my opinion. They don’t disappoint. Portions are huge too.

Sick! Sick, sick! Horrible food. Horrible service. Horrible experience! I ordered the Vegas roll, my absolute favorite and I asked for the spicy mayo on the side because my kids won’t eat anything spicy. I also asked for a side of eel sauce because I love dipping in it. Anyway– the roll was the most bland and tasteless thing I have Ever eaten. Like soggy bland tofu, but even more gross because I love tofu. Lol So I ate one piece of the whole roll. When the waiter Finally brought out check(whole other story) because I had to ask him for it, I mentioned to him that I really didn’t enjoy the Vegas roll and obviously didn’t eat it, since the whole thing was sitting right in front of him. I was hoping for a discount or replacement(which I would have asked for earlier if he came to my table even Once to check on me…) and he said he had to ask the manager/owner/whatever. She told him they couldn’t do anything about it because I got the spicy mayo on the side. Are you kidding me?!? I still dipped it in the spicy mayo and the eel sauce– Nothing could salvage that piece of garbage! So I tried to calmly explain that to the waiter and he asked one more time, and the manager refused to take it off my check and blamed me. Such horrible customer service. I was so upset and felt soooo incredibly uncomfortable, I basically felt like crying. Then there was the service… Our waiter took forever to take our order. He didn’t check on us once, never refilled our waters, which meant I had to drink what was left in my kids’ cups. What was he doing, you ask? He was refilling beverages in their fridge, folding napkins and playing on his phone for a bit. What about his other tables? There were none. We were literally the Only table there. And I Still had to get up long after we were done eating to ask for the check. Never, ever, ever would I go here again!!! Even if someone paid me. Never. P. s. I truly wanted to throw my sushi roll plate at the wall and throw the check at the manager as I walked out. In my head. You know, hypothetically. Good thing my kids, my friend and her kids were with me.

Don’t normally write a review, however I was impressed with the food and service. I ordered Hawaii roll and playboy roll and some other hot dishes, and we all liked very much! Also the waitress was very nice and helpful, she tried to make sure her customers happy!

Sushi is AWFUL! I have gone here twice(I understand, sometimes you can have one bad experience and never happen again!) first time, octopus was rotten. Second time? Fish eggs were frozen solid. I will NEVER come back!

I’m not a big Asian food aficionado, but I always like what I get here. I’ve had a lot of different things on the menu and never been disappointed. I like the teriyaki salmon and get that in a bento box pretty often. The service is good and the portions are big.

We came in for the 50% off sushi rolls. My wife is Japanese, works at another sushi restaurant, and we eat a lot of sushi. We didn’t expect a lot going in, but was seriously some of the worst we have had. Fish was questionable(smelled and was tough and old). I have had better sushi from all you can eat Chinese buffet places. Chinese food was better, but found a hair in the salad. Service was not bad. Décor not bad. If you go stick to the Chinese side of the menu.

My husband and I returned after my first visit and were less impressed. It wasn’t bad per se, but it’s clear they manage to keep their prices low by keeping the sushi fish nearly imperceptible(see also: paper thin). We’ve since found another restaurant we like significantly better and will probably not return to Fortune Cookie.

I thought the food was very good, reasonably priced, had large portions and friendly service. If you are in the mood for a clean Chinese restaurant, but nothing too fancy I would come here.

The rice was good. The orange chicken wasn’t my favorite. The service was good. And the meal sizes were good also.

I’ve worked next to this place for four years and avoided it, places that serve Japanese, Chinese, Thai and a mix of other cuisine often hit low. I was pleasantly surprised, sesame chicken was pretty good, miso was good. The lo mein was cooked nice but turned out to be spaghetti noodles cooked lo mein fashion. Only one waiter while the place was pretty busy, probably maintained 30 diners while we were there and my soda never ran dry. Food was a little slow but our group of 13 probably added to that.

I have been here twice but on my last visit tried the sushi. I noticed they indicated on the menu and outside on a sign that the sushi rolls are 50% off. Good deal huh? Well, not if you ridiculously inflate the price before you give half off. I don’t think I have been to other sushi joints that have $ 18 and $ 20 sushi rolls on the menu. But hey, cut that by %50 and all of a sudden $ 9 and $ 10 dollar rolls are a fantastic deal… right? The rolls themselves were just decent. The cucumber had no crunch and the rolls with tempura shrimp was soggy like it was out of the microwave. I think this place could improve by using fresher ingredients and methods as well as reasonable straightforward pricing.

Wow its been a while since Ive eaten here. The previous owners now own watermoon café in Draper. I have to say that my expectations were low but our visit today pleasantly surprised us. We had the crispy beef, vegetables and bean curd, and mapo tofu from the Chinese menu. They were actually very authentic. The owner told us she just hired a new chef from Taiwan. This was definitely good news! The sushi were all half off and it was decent. Big portions even though its 50% off. Overall good experience and they were nice enough to give us free dessert(fried bread)

I have been to Fortune Cookie a handful of times in the past few years, but after visiting them twice in the last month, I’m pretty disappointed. My husband and I ordered 5 sushi rolls, and all of them were subpar. We decided to give Fortune Cookie another chance and order their takeout, and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, and it was super salty, dry, and basically inedible. I won’t be a customer at Fortune Cookie anymore!

We greatly enjoyed our lunch. The Bento Box offered our favorite choices, was a very ample amount of excellently prepared additions, and was very reasonably priced. We will definitely return and are grateful to find another outstanding restaurant in this area of south valley.

I live nearby and have eaten at Fortune Cookie a few times. When I’m disappointed with a restaurant’s food, I’m usually willing to give a restaurant a few shots to redeem itself. Unfortunately, Fortune Cookie has fallen short with every chance I’ve given them. I’ve been thoroughly disappointed by both their traditional Asian cuisine and their sushi rolls. For instance, I once ordered an overpriced teriyaki chicken lunch special that included only chicken(no rice) with a small amount of watery sauce and tasted stale. On a different occasion, I ordered both a California roll and a Tuna roll from their sushi menu… both were nearly inedible and ended up in the trash. If you’re looking for Asian food or sushi in the Riverton area then you should definitely pass on the overpriced, subpar food of Fortune Cookie.

I’ve now been to Fortune Cookie twice and overall my impression is it’s just ok. My husband and I went the first time on recommendation from my parents. They’d been there before, knew we were looking for sushi and since it was close we went. My husband really likes spicy rolls but when we asked for something spicy the waiter really couldn’t recommend much. He offered to ask the sushi chef to make the rolls spicy which then meant we just got some Sriracha sauce dotted on top. Seriously not what we were looking for. The rolls were ok but nothing special. To me their seaweed salad was kind of funky. Definitely not my favorite. The second time I went was just yesterday with my family and overall not too shabby. My Dad and I ordered 4 rolls between us and found out that if you order 4 rolls they price them at $ 20 for two instead of full price. Which, depending on what you get, can be a slightly better deal. I believe our waiter said this only works between 11am and 4pm though. I’d ask before ordering if this is a deal you’re looking to get. My Mom ordered a bento box type lunch which looked ok but didn’t come with rice which to me is strange. My brother ordered the Crispy Beef which was really tasty and really crispy. I only had a bite but he cleared his plate and seemed to like it. The rolls my Dad and I got were ok. I think we got the Tokyo, Hawaiian, Rainbow and Playboy rolls. The Hawaiian was different because it had mango on top which was a different treat. It’s rather sweet though so if you’re not into sweet skip it. The Rainbow was pretty tasty and had a variety of fish on top. I liked the Playboy better than the Tokyo because of a subtle taste difference. I think the sauce on the Tokyo just reminded me of grocery store sushi so it wasn’t anything special. I can say the rolls here are rather expensive. The variety is better than some strip mall sushi joints so they do have that going for them. There isn’t a lot that’s spicy though so if you’re into that go somewhere else. If you’re looking for a sushi fix and have people who would rather have Chinese food this isn’t a bad option. From the taste of my Brother’s plate the Chinese food may be the way to go.

Fortune Cookie is one of those places that was desperately needed in Riverton. Before it arrived there was more chance of finding chicken in a chicken McNugget than there was of finding decent Chinese food in Riverton! I’ll be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for it, figured it would be your run of the mill strip mall Chinese, and for a while didn’t even bother trying it. But one day my wife and I wanted some Chinese, but didn’t feel like battling all the construction on about every road that would lead to somewhere more formal, so we decided what the heck, we’ll get take out, if it’s not great well we’ll at least know. We were pleasantly surprised. Love the egg rolls and the hot and sour soup is great. All the Chinese dishes we have had from there(and we’ve had many different ones over time) have been of good quality. And there’s enough food in one main item to be plenty for two people. Just order an extra egg roll and hot and sour soup and you are set! Decent meal for 2 for about $ 18. Can’t speak much for the service since we always get takeout.

For the Riverton area, I thought this place was pretty decent. I do think the prices do seem a bit high for this area as well, but I felt like they served good food that seemed fresher and better prepared than your typical Asian restaurant, in the area. I thought the service was fine. The sweet and sour soup was decent. My mu-shu pork had way too many onions, but the flavor in general was good. I will go back at some point. For the area, it’s decent.
