After being here at least a dozen more times, I will update my review: I think they were overwhelmed by the amount of customers and the lack of help. It seems to have evened out a lot and I haven’t seen a dirty table in several months. The lady that is usually at the front doesn’t seem too friendly but we love our waitress! We usually have the same one and she is very sweet and attentive. Drinks have gotten better(made by the lady at the front) as well. TL; DR: We love the sushi and our server enough to keep coming back.

My order was wrong(missing rice and the wrong sushi roll). Yet it is close to work and gives me my quick sushi fix. The server was not attentive yet the atmosphere is nice. I would recommend only eating in and not ordering pickup.

I am not normally a fan of this type of venue but I have to say, their food is delicious. Great flavored fried rice, chicken teriyaki is amazing, and overall, just wonderful. Would eat here again. Salad looked a little depressing.

While the cafeteria at the Baylor Medical Center at Trophy Club is nice, it is very limited(only one choice, cod, on Friday the 13th — And it’s not even lent), I knew I could do better. Fish and Knife had been on my radar for a while(was it you Asa?), and at just 3 miles away, right up 114, it was an optimal choice. I wasn’t super hungry, so I went for a small(4 pieces) sashimi bento box($ 8.50). Included was a small miso soup and in the box, a small egg roll, some steamed rice(fried available with up charge), some vegetable and the fish. Everything was very tasty. Fish was a fresh as sashmi can be(as in recently thawed and not sitting around too long). Service was friendly and efficient. Also got some food to go: A Spicy Crunch Salmon Roll($ 5.25) and a Seaweed Salad($ 5.50). I was told both were very good. Since I was not offered a taste, I assume they were. Bottom line: Great alternative to the BMC cafeteria. I will be back.

I got take out but I was very disappointed with my order. I ordered spring rolls and the chicken teriyaki. The chicken was a bit dry and my salad was brown. The food was just plain nothing exciting or so «good» I have to go back about it. I was hoping for a better experience. Definitely over priced for what I got.

Terrible service! Very slow. Not pleasant staff. We came on a Monday night. Maybe they were not prepared for the business. It is a shame when the guests go to the bar to ask for a tea or water refill. The food is fair. The Hibachi is sub par. Sushi is fresh but very limited. I really think they were just overwhelmed with Monday night business.

I called once and they delivered to my home 5 mins away from the place. Next time they told me the could not deliver to the area even when their menu say they would. I kept talking and now the tell jt is because their driver has some vision problems. It always surprises me when people just doesnt want to work. I guess they are rich and have enough customers.

Absolutely AMAZING sushi rolls! Our visit on a Thur night around 7P found the restaurant to be very busy — and short staffed. Hostess was having difficulty getting tables cleaned and getting people seated. Waitress was a bit slow to get to the table, but as mentioned above, probably could have used another set of hands on the floor. My sister & I started with salads because we were starving and loved the sweet & sour vinegar dressing — a nice change from the usual creamy ginger. Then we shared Trophy Club Roll(fried calamari inside) and the Twister Roll(snow crab inside), both with no wasabi, sub soy paper(no extra charge! awesome!), and extra ginger. Took about 15 min to get the rolls(had to ask for the extra ginger again) but they were well worth the wait! We had eaten here once before and thought it was good but don’t remember it being outstanding. We decided they must have hired a new sushi chef because the freshness and correct amounts of drizzled sauces was top notch. Took a menu with us so we can order for pick up — we both live too far out of delivery range — and plan on eating our way through the rest of the sushi menu. So why 5 stars with initial slow service? Because it’s now how you fall down, it’s how you recover, and the chefs recovered the visit. :)

Great service every time I come here. It has a really good taste for the price of the food. I love coming here during happy hour for some cheap rolls and sake!

Had a couple happy hour sushi rolls… for the total sum of $ 7 it was well worth it for a salmon roll and a tempura shrimp roll. They were not big but it was enough. Staff was friendly and restaurant was comfortable

The best restaurant in Trophy Club! OK, so we only have three full-service restaurants, but this one is by far the best. We had dinner on Friday night. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. The only drawback is the size of the place — it is a bit small, and loud people’s voices carry. They have a sushi bar(which we did no partake). I had the hibachi scallops — EXCELLENT — and husband had the teriyaki chicken. We both enjoyed our food so much, we did not even offer to share :) We also had an appetizer of the spring rolls. They were good, but you get so much food for your entrée, that next time we will skip the appetizer. This was our first time eating here, but we will definitely be back, soon and often. They also have a very affordable lunch menu that we intend to try as well.

I haven’t had sushi in a while, so when a coworker suggested we grab lunch here I immediately got excited and started thinking about all the delicious rolls I would want. The staff was super friendly and very helpful to personalize my order to my liking. They know their customers on a first name basis and are always smiling. I ordered one the rolls off the menu and was so delightfully surprised how beautiful and delicious they were. It was something I hadn’t had before and the new taste made me want to keep coming back! Looking forward to stopping by the next time I’m in this area for sure.

Solid delivery sushi! A lot of cooked sushi and mayo. Thats fine for when I’m craving sushi and don’t want to leave my house. Not going to lie I order last night and today. I especially like the southlake and monster rolls. Tonight I wanted something riceless, so I got the seared tuna tataki… It was amazing! Only complaint is the sweet lady on the phone when ordering is impossible to understand and seems to always get something wrong. Bummer.

Good sushi! Went here for lunch because I was in the area and needing lunch. Craving sushi. The décor was new and modern. Cool lighting that changed over time under the fake plant vegetation. And cool red lighting under the sinks in the bathroom somehow. Very slick. I ordered miso soup, California roll, 2 salmon sashimi and 2 super white tuna sashimi. The soup was VERY good. Miso soup can be very bland if the stock isn’t right. These guys nailed it. The stuff in the soup was a bit skimpy. Ie: Tiny bits of tofu, very little green onion, etc. The California roll was, as mike said, smallish, but good. Just a tiny bit of imitation crab. There was more cucumber than anything else. The salmon and super white tuna was very fresh. Service was great. Sushi was $ 2.50 for one piece, which was kind of expensive. If in the area, I would definitely go back.

Let me begin by stating that I can only rate MY experience. Clearly, others have had a much better experience than I did. The short version: Bad enough to walk out. Which I may have only done a couple of times in my entire life. The long version: Meeting my wife & another couple for dinner I arrived first. Immediately upon walking in the door you could smell something nasty. I have a pretty sensitive nose so often I try to discount odors, understanding that others may not be experiencing the same discomfort. I was seated and ordered a glass of wine to await the rest of my party. At $ 7 /glass I figured that the Robert Mondavi Merlot would be nice … it wasn’t. It was hot. Not simply warm, but hot. As if it has been sitting next to the oven. I tried to salvage the situation by asking for a wine glass with ice. I figured I would just chill a glass long enough to cool the wine myself… but the waitress spoke so little English that even this simple request was almost insurmountable. It was only by asking the bartender that my wish would be granted. My guests arrived and immediately confirmed that my sense of smell was correct. Opinions varied as to whether it was the smell of something rotting or a backed up sewer… but all agreed that it would probably be better to just leave, rather than risk a night of praying to the porcelain gods. We walked out, only to be chased down by the overzealous, non-English speaking waitress wagging her finger and demanding(I guess) that I return to pay for the wine. So I returned to pay, and voice my opinion about their restaurant. The bartender(manager?) graciously agreed that I didn’t have to pay. So, we left. Went next door to the Mexican restaurant. May your experience be better if you choose to visit.

I went here for lunch with my wife and youngest son. I ordered the teriyaki beef lunch bento with steamed rice and salad. My wife ordered the teriyaki scallops lunch bento with fried rice and clear soup. Our son ordered the two roll lunch with a salmon roll, a tempura shrimp roll and a salad(he’s not the typical nine year old). The salad was good, but not fantastic. Iceberg lettuce with julienned carrots topped with a clear vinaigrette dressing that was sweet and tart with a hint of peanut(sugar, vinegar and peanut oil perhaps). The beef was tender, juicy and nicely marinated. The spring roll was crisp and not greasy. The California roll was good, but a little on the smallish side. My wife raved about the scallops being delicious and not chewy at all. I’m not much of a seafood connoisseur so I will defer to her judgment. She said the soup was nice and light. Our son also liked the salad, but it wasn’t his favorite. He quickly devoured the salmon roll but took longer with the tempura roll. He said it was good, but next time he’ll just order two salmon rolls instead! The décor is a little on the kitschy side with the color changing mood lighting, but the staff were all nice, friendly and patient when we couldn’t decide what to eat.

Nice option in Trophy Club! Went to Fish and Knife recently with my wife for date night. We were a little apprehensive only because of the mixed reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. Service was attentive without being intrusive(a big deal for me!). Food was very good(I won’t say it was great). Based on others’ posts regarding sushi rolls, I would have to say they’ve improved. Pros: — Clean, somewhat trendy looking restaurant — Quiet & intimate — Full bar — Good, friendly wait staff — Good Japanese fare Cons: — Hibachi was prepared in the kitchen because they have no hibachi tables in the front of house Bottom line: — Nice quiet spot in Roanoke /Trophy Club area with good Japanese fare — Better than other area sushi options that have recently closed
