The grilled cheese was pretty ok but nothing special. The popcorn was stale. The side of smiles was overpriced and gross. Homestead makes awesome ice cream but I couldn’t taste it in my sundae(they hardly gave me any). I was served a mostly soupy mess of melted ice cream with hot fudge and whipped cream. All in all a very disappointing experience.

Being GF(a true allergy) I am always so happy when I find a restaurant that truly serves GF food. Such was the case as my husband and I took our grandsons on Sunday before going to the movies. We were served quickly and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my GF pimento grilled cheese! If I had a complaint it would be that they charge an absolutely ridiculous $ 2 for 4(four) smiley face potato cakes — those tiny things you can buy in the frozen food section at your local grocer!!! Also note that if you order their lemonade although it did include ice, it was not cold(or cool for that matter). Will be back but am not sure we will be getting the potato cakes. Thanks for providing GF bread for those that need it!

Very poor. I went there because I love 50’s cafes and this much worse then what I ever imagined it could be. When I actually got the food I was so socked by the poor quality and lack of any skill. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if the«cook» was a 3 year old who tries to feed you black toast with dog hair on it and soggy cereal that was all milk. Evening comes with popcorn as a side. All five trays we got had stale popcorn. Every sandwich we got wasn’t fully cooked and were hard to eat.

Pop’s is cute — I was pretty excited to pop in(see what I did there?!) and get some of the Homestead Creamery ice cream so I didn’t have to drive to the lake for some yummies. I’ve been looking forward to stopping in for a few months since I made weekend hiking plans with my local friends. My friend ordered the s’mores sundae which was less than stellar — kind’of a letdown honestly. It was like three small scoops of chocolate ice cream with some marshmallow paste on top, seared a bit, and a few crumbles of graham cracker. I ordered a make your own sundae and chose the espresso chocolate chip and salted caramel ice cream with fudge whipped cream a cherry and chopped nuts. I honestly don’t think the second scoop/flavor made it into my sundae at all… I ONLY tasted the espresso — which was delicious. It was so small and in the tiny glass server they use it was barely one full scoop of ice cream. It tasted alright but was a letdown as far as my cheat dessert day went. I followed up by ordering a single scoop waffle cone with the salted caramel and I knew after that that they did not in fact add that to my sundae as requested. So that pisses me off. The ice cream was good — I didn’t hate it — but I’m not going to come back.

Quickish service. Fun menu for kids and grownups alike. A bit pricey for what you get, but I guess you are paying for the atmosphere. Fun place, but not a place we will frequent on account of the prices.

Nice little hipster place in a great neighborhood. Got a soda pop, was amazing! Didn’t try the ice cream but the grill cheese was good. Great little place!

One of my favorite places to eat in Roanoke! All of the sandwiches are delicious(and vegetarian!) and the tomato bisque goes perfectly with all of them. A great local place full of friendly people and yummy food!
A lovely little place. Very good ice cream and ambiance. Stays open late, so a nice stop after a movie.

Iconic ice cream parlor that makes Roanoke proud. You won’t find this kind of food in a chain restaurant. Ice cream is lovely, sodas imaginative and grilled cheese the creamiest. Don’t miss this place!

Stopped in on a whim with the family, and so glad we did. We were visiting from out of town and made it a nightly stop. Great ice cream, friendly staff, and a twin peaksian decoration theme. Super cool, must visit, wish those people and that kind of place were more common.

I had the Swiss melt with avocado and artichokes. Hubby had the smoked Gouda grilled cheese. Both were delicious. We were pass through after a trip to Black Dawg Salvage. It was a perfect quick lunch and the ice cream the cherry on top!

I’m a sucker for malts and this place has one of the best raspberry malts I’ve had — ties with Dietschs in Findlay Ohio. Kids loved their ice-cream, floats etc. The place has a charming 70s ambience to it with games and such. Highly recommended and am looking forward to my delicious next malt shake.

A great place to step back in time. They do old school sodas, no HFCS and many made in house. Their ice cream comes from a local creamery and another local place supplies began ice cream from cashews. A diverse selection of ice cream treats. Homemade cake. Let us not forget the unique array of grilled cheese sandwiches. Two have no cheese at all and would make Elvis happy.

Always a treat to come here, the perfect place for a quick bite of something sweet or a little bit cheesy(grilled cheese). What a unique combination of items they had to offer: grilled cheeses, popcorn, craft soda, ice cream, and most importantly… board games! The vibe is cute, friendly, retro, and welcoming. The ice cream and soda is nothing short of absolutely refreshing and the grilled cheese sandwiches are gooey, loaded, and most importantly cheesy! I recommend the Greek or BLT style sandwiches but I have not tried many other as I plan on doing so next time. Don’t come here hungry, these aren’t all star portions here, just a sandwich with some popcorn and one smile shaped french fry potato cut out. That being said, everything was just as delicious as it looked and sounded when I read it on the menu. Can’t wait to come back in the future.
