ECHE!!! So I have been in and out of Central VA for a number of years and always have been hoping that a good COLOMBIANO meal would come about that isn’t home cooked… Well here it is! There are three cooks… I suggest going when the Older lady is cooking. ESSSOOOOOO! If you have never had COLOMBIAN food and your’e in VA, the search is over. (This is a old post I didn’t finsih. I have heard it has closed down… never the less it was a damn good spot!)

I wanted to try this restaurant today 3÷7÷2015, but when I got there I realized it had closed down.

Rico’s is our go-to place for quick, delicious pizza. The staff is always super friendly and attentive. Prices are really reasonable. I hate most chain pizza places because they load on the sauce but Rico’s puts the perfect amount on every time.

So I never eat the crust on any pizza because usually it’s just too hard and crunchy, well this is not the case at Ricos. However they make their dough, it is super soft and flaky, like a croissant, and I finally ate my pizza crust! Their pizza is pretty good, and different, not heavy on the sauce like typical pizza establishments. My favorite was their chef salad. It was very fresh with all sorts of veggies thrown in the mix. Really enjoyed it and will be back soon!

This place is fantastic! Their colombian latino food is authentic, affordable, and absolutely to die for. I had the bandeja paisa for lunch and it was the highlight of my week. I will definitely be back for more. They also have great pizza specials. Highly recommended!

Why have I waited so long to try this restaurant? My friend told me about it last year but I didn’t believe him. Schedule me for one kick in the ass. I saw the pizza menu and said to hell with that, I’m going with the Latin American menu. I had the plate paiso. This was a phenomenal dish of white rice, beans, flank steak, fried egg, plantains, and pork skin. There was some hot sauce on the side that was amazing. It all really hit the spot. The piece de resistance was the fresh guanabana juice. The server recommended us getting it and it was a big glass of deliciousness. The place is a hole in the wall, the kind of place where the bathroom is out around the back, but they did serve up some good food.

They have great tasting Colombian meals with plantains, black beans and great marinated meats. I highly recommend the pollo a la planca. My favorite.
