Mediocre local shop. We got there within an hour of closing so the baked goods were depleted, but the bagels seemed fresh and still with a good selection. Would have been good to know on their online menu that they had whole wheat everything. We also grabbed some dog biscuits.

This place makes the best bagels I’ve ever eaten, no question. I’m a Roanoke native, and I grew up on Roanoke Bagels(aka Five Boro), but no matter where I’ve gotten bagels since, they can’t compare to these! Every time I come back to Roanoke I make a special trip just to stop by and pick up a dozen to take home. Great great bagels and sandwiches and awesome people — this is a top-notch business that I can’t recommend enough!

This is definitely the only place in the city I want to have bagels from. It’s all made from scratch, even the cream cheeses, the service is excellent and pleasant. I stop in for breakfast but usually I get the bakers dozen, slice and freeze them. It’s rarely made anymore but the garlic scallion cream cheese is without exaggeration the best, ever, in life. Yes, the prices may be higher than chains, that’s because it’s fresh, local and better. You get what you pay for!

This bagel spot had a great selection, good prices, and a great staff. We spilled our coffee halfway through breakfast and the staff was very gracious and courteous. Their response helped alleviate the stress of having spilled the coffee everywhere.

Great breakfast place. I always want to try local places when traveling. The food & staff were excellent. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll remember to visit.

Roanoke Bagel is my absolute favorite. They have a few competitors in the region but are clearly the best. I LOVE the whole wheat everythings when they’re available(usually Thurs/Fri) and the pumpernickel is to die for! All of the bagels are baked fresh and can be used for a sandwich or bought in bulk. Call ahead to place an order if there’s a flavor you are really looking for — they sell out quick!

Fine, not great. The coffee in the carafes was bitter and only somewhat warm, not hot. My bagel(French Toast) was relatively dry and definitely not nearly as tasty as many comparable bagels at Panera. They did have very friendly service.

Great bagels! Unfortunately the sandwiches are hit and miss as the eggs are sometimes overcooked.

Fantastic bagels and bagel sandwiches. My wife and love coming here and tend to every Sunday. Today I got the«12 o’clock knob» and she got an everything bagel with cream cheese. It may not be the cheapest around but you get what you pay for and these were awesome! See you next week.

Roanoke Bagel is simply the best. If you eat a Bagel in Roanoke chances are it came from their bakery. I really like the Everything Bagel they have. Always fresh and satisfying to the most picky palate. Mine! It’s also the only authentic bagel in the Valley. Never a wait and a great value too. Great Coffee as well. Peace.

I have been coming to Roanoke Bagel since I was a kid(Back when they were Five Boro Bagels) and they still make the best bagels I have ever had. I can’t comment on the sandwich pricing or toppings because I only come in for a Baker’s dozen to freeze and eat on for weeks. In fact, I now live in Raleigh, NC and whenever I am in town to visit family or friends, I try to call and order ahead(14 bagels in a dozen if you call the day before to order), and I will freeze them and take them back to NC with me. I have never found a bigger, fluffier, tastier bagel. Try the salt pretzel shaped bagels, they are to die for, especially when you dip them into some melted jalapeño cheese!

Shortly after my original review, one of the store affiliates messaged me back(or left a comment) politely explaining why their prices are higher than normal. This type of customer services speaks volume and convinced me to bump them up another star. Although I still think they are a little overpriced, I may give this place another try when I am in the area. I ordered a cranberry orange bagel for 0.89 and the scallion cream cheese for approx 2 dollars.
