Superb! Quaint, atmosphere, clean as a whistle, friendly, accommodating, fast service and the food, oh wow, utterly scrumptious. Absolutely recommend Our Daily Bread. Do your belly a favor and eat here.

This place is a gem!!! One of my favorite french toast breakfasts I’ve ever had. The side cream and fruits was incredibly delicious!!! I also took some croissants with me for a hike. Everyone was courteous. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the coffee but everything was pretty good and I’ll be back someday :-)

I have been fooled too many times on road trips by horribly inflated Unilocal reviews. Please stop rating these generic«local» restaurants with 4 – 5 stars when it should be obvious to anyone that they rely 100% on the cheapest ingredients delivered on a Sysco truck! «Made fresh» is as meaningless in this context as «healthy» on the side of an instant mashed potatoes box. I am in the midst of a long drive and I knew I couldn’t make it another five hours on an empty stomach. So I look up breakfast on Unilocal and find this place in Salem, VA that was just a ten minute detour, has all FIVESTAR reviews and is supposedly a fresh bakery. So… here I am. Five stars?!? I would describe my breakfast as a double portion in-flight meal. The blueberry pancake was on par with IHOP/Denny’s, except the(corn) syrup came in a little plastic baggy on top. Yuck. The hash browns were clearly from a freezer bag and came covered in American cheese. And the corned beef looked like two dried out, salty slices of roast beef lunch meat. With a cup of(instant) coffee and two eggs with yolks the color of a pale yellow highlighter marker, the total for my breakfast came to $ 14. I give them an extra star for not being a Denny’s, but honestly it might have been better service and presentation at a corporate diner. Fool me once, Unilocal.Fool me once.

I was so excited to find Our Daily Bread in Salem! I loved eating at the Blacksburg location for many years as a student. I was recently in the area for work and discovered they had a location and this one did not disappoint. Same amazing food that I had come to love in Blacksburg now in Salem! I know where I will be having dinner next time I am in town!!! So excited!

What a great breakfast find. All of the baked goods are fresh and the specials are truly something Special. I had the Braised Beef Benedict and my husband had a Omelet with blue cheese, prosciutto and basil. Both were savory and delicious.

Honestly, an amazing find off of 81. Lots of healthy and delicious options, including vegan. Perfect breakfast spot. Classical music playing, local art for sale and a coffee and tea refill station. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Just awesome! So lucky to have found this place. Will be back.

This is probably my new favorite brunch place in Salem/Roanoke area. It was simply food love at first site in a sense. From the moment I entered the restaurant a waitress was ready to welcome and guide me through the simple process of ordering. Took me a little while to get to the counter because there were so many delicious pastries on display. Everyone was very friendly and polite. I ordered a Rockefeller omelette, two slices of French toasts, a cheese Danish to go(yes, don’t judge), and a cup of coffee. This was probably one of the most salivating breakfast I’ve had in while. And don’t get me started on the atmosphere: family friendly, with the right amount of noise and the ambiance is simply very fitting. I would certainly recommend this place for any local or visitor. I gave a 5-star because I really couldn’t think of anything to complain about.

My daughter and 5 are in town for the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship. We searched for a lunch place and we are very pleased that Our Daily Bread showed up on our list. The food was excellent, we both had the Quiche Lorraine and tomato basil soup. We loved them both. Service was quick and friendly.

I was so impressed with this place! We ordered several items off the breakfast and brunch menu as we had a rather large party and everything was delicious… French toast, banana and Nutella crepes, the most ah-mazing crab cake/eggs Benedict dish, and a huge quiche dish. Oh and this salmon egg sandwich, with a huge piece of perfectly cooked salmon. Then we went back and got some sweets from the bakery case for a sweet snack later in the day. What a great find

Excellent food, excellent service, and they have wine now… what could be better?!? Oh, yes, the prices are reasonable for the quality of food. We had a generous slice of quiche, and it came with bread, soup and salad for $ 12.95. We’ll be back soon!

Fresh and delicious! The Farmers Omelette was fabulous. Toast was fresh baked and complimentary coffee to boot. If you are looking for breakfast in Salem, you just found it!

I’ve been to this location several times for breakfast, typically on the weekend. The food is always very good and fresh. My only complaint is the service. The bussing of tables and drink refills could use some help. I’ll certainly keep going back.

Second time to this location and I was once again very pleased with everything. So glad Salem finally got such a delicious/gourmet and inexpensive, casual hot spot. My go-to is usually Mill Mtn on Main St and it’s nice to add this to the list. Service is quick and snappy with a side of polite. Today, I treated myself to the Greek omelette(perfectly eggy and filled with sautéed spinach, grilled tomatoes, and feta) paired with a croissant(huge and delectably flakey). Their house made strawberry jam will make your heart ache for summer! Had a cup of the Appalachian Smoke coffee(a tad bitter for my tastes but not bad) and a second mug I filled with the house blend, which was more my style. All this for under $ 8! What’s not to like?

Twice a week we head here to get a good simple meal. Sometimes it is a breakfast on the weekend, and sometimes it is for dinner after a busy day that does not allow us to prepare anything at home. Each time it is a great experience. The menu changes on a regular basis and there is often several new options on the menu. The staff are always very pleasant and know the menu well. Yes, you should head to this spot and enjoy what they have to offer.
