Do not buy a mattress from Sears We have shopped Sears for 30 years-most every major appliance purchase, vacuums, carpet cleaners, tools, a treadmill I believe, dishes, rugs, etc. We purchased a top of the line mattress(Simmons Beautyrest Black, pillowtop) only for it to sag within 6 months. It’s not Sears’ fault — the materials used sag by nature. It’s also not Sears’ fault that the mattresses are filled with cancer causing fire retardant chemicals. However, their response to my dilemma with the mattress they sold is in their control. Different answers on different days from different people, first they can help, then they can’t, first there is a comfort warranty on the replacement mattress, then there isn’t. Nothing is provided in writing-only via phone. It is like shifting sand working with them. They feel no responsibility to honor that I was told I would receive a refund once the mattress was picked up. They simply feel no responsibility at all. Once your mattress sags your only option is to take another one just like it and hope it won’t sag like the first one. Or, pick out a different bed and hope it is comfortable as there is no 60 day comfort guarantee on the replacement bed. There is no store credit option either — so buyer beware. Read the fine print and do your research before buying a mattress anywhere. Look at latex mattresses or buy something with minimal foam, no pillowtop. Buy a topper that can be replaced as often as needed. Sleep Essentials has great education at . Not only will the latex mattress not sag(cousin has had one for 5 years without problem), you can get it without the chemicals that may result in health issues. Serta, Simmons, Sealy — none of them will provide you with a chemical free mattress, even as allowed by law with a physician prescription. Given that we are experiencing health issues, we asked for a pro-rated store credit but they would rather lose me as a customer than not make money on this bed. That is their decision and it is truly my fault for making the purchase without being more informed on the nature of mattresses, blindly looking to Sears as a store I could trust. It is a mistake I will not make again. Posting this in hopes others will learn from my mistake.
