Worst service I’ve ever experienced by a bartender. We went in for a drink after a concert. Front of the house had a DJ and a nice waiter escorted us to the quieter Wine Bar. We seated ourselves and waited 15 minutes… still nobody helped us. Went over to the bar where rude bartender took 5 minutes to acknowledge our presence, then tried to be funny… NOT. Screwed up the bill(hard to keep track of 4 drinks). There were only 8 people in the bar so can’t blame it on being busy. On a Friday night I now understand why Stefanos was empty and other bars nearby were full! DONTGOHERE!!!

Someone told me they have a great chef. They should let her cook. Drinks are expensive and the subject of regular complaint. Beer selection is limited and draughts are brought from the back rather than pulled at the bar. This means that your bartender is constantly gone, confused, or irritated when the bar is busy.(I cannot comment on the wine bar as I haven’t tried it). I simply cannot find the appeal of this place with better options a block or two away. When there is music, its great location draws a crowd from all of the nearby eateries. Like so many, I’ll still occasionally show up for the social scene but cannot recommend more.

Great restaurant! Delicious and awesome patio seating. I recommend the classic mussel bowl and the berries and cream dessert!

While the salad was absolutely delicious, I paid 11 dollars for a salad that contained about 3 bites and had only 3 shrimp on top of it. Not sure that I would have eaten here if I had known the price to food portion ratio! There are too many awesome places to eat right within walking distance.

I’m not at all sure what the standard is in here in Roanoke, VA. The service my colleague and I received was outstanding all the way from hostess, assistant waiter, waiter to owner was 5 star. The dining room offers viewing of the expediting window inside the kitchen which is both entertaining as well as proof of how professional the expect the service experience to be. 2 salads ordered. Cesar salad was really good. Grilled romain was also awesome. I had the filet. Really good with two spinach sides(by choice). My coworker had chicken piccata and absolutely loved it. We followed meal with chocolate lava cake that again was amazing. Overall experience 4 ½ — 5 stars for price. When you visit please ask for Fredy.

Giving this an A OK, Bartender swears everything is made in house, Wrong, I had the Calamari and the sweet chili sauce is a bottled sauce available at any chinese market, the Papardella Bolognese is not so good, it was more like ground beef with a bland tomato sauce with over cooked noodles, no hint of nutmeg no creamy texture just bland. For dessert chocolate lava cake made in house, nope, just an average off the shelf dessert that was microwaved so long that the middle cooked there was no «lava» just real hot cake. And then the blah, blah about their Chef being on Hells Kitchen, maybe she should serve that pasta dish to Chef Ramsey and see what he thinks.

I am not sure one star is correct, the whole place was memorable in a confusing strange and bad way, Service was bad, and me and my friend both woke up at 5AM with a horrible stomach ache

Similar to another review, the stars are for the food… and the entertainment… which both deserve more, but the service was horrible. My husband and I are new to the area so decided to try Stefanos after a show at the Civic Center. We thought it was odd that the place was so empty on a Saturday night, but attributed it to being one of the cool things about Roanoke… quality dining without the crowd. Haha. We soon discovered otherwise. We were incredibly impressed with the live music(Jordan Harman… a total MUST check out) so that definitely helped to distract us from the horrible service, but it appeared as if there were only 2 waitstaff working and they were also doubling as bartenders(though it looked as if there were several other bartenders). We were presented our food and waited approximately 5 minutes until we were brought silverware(they had to be reminded to bring it to us by other patrons). Fortunately, the food was delicious… salmon was cooked just right, totally tender with a bit of crispness on the outside and the short ribs were amazing(albeit, they could have used more mashed potatoes). We were never asked for drink refills, etc. it also took seemingly forever for our check to come back to be signed(remember, there were VERY few other patrons). Stefanos is NOT an inexpensive restaurant so the service will surely sink them if things don’t change quickly. As we were walking back to our car, we noticed that most of the other restaurants were full… shooting our original theory in the foot… confirming our revised theory… people had tried Stefanos, but weren’t returning due to the high price/crappy service ratio. We tried!

The stars were for the food. Service was disorganized at best. Would give them another chance based on the food.

My family ate here while on a road trip. When we got there no one was in the café at 7:30 a night. Which should have been our first sign. We were greeted by a jovial enough wait staff however, when we sat we asked about the wait and we were told that the kitchen of the café area shared the same kitchen as the main dining room which was«packed» at the time. Upon receiving our food, 30 minutes later the portions were small for the price paid and the house chips were tough. I will not be going back here as I do not want to be cheated out of my money. We were out in a little over an hour. Which for an empty restaurant calculating in food prep is a little long. We ordered two burgers, a mediocre blt(one slice of bacon and hardly any tomato or lettuce), and a chicken salad sandwich. Two hours after eating we were hungry again but had no time to stop. I work in a restaurant with much more complicated dishes and we are able to turn over tables in 45 minutes or less. This being said I went to peek at the other side of the restaurant to the ma
