My wife and I came here last night for Valentine’s Day and loved it! Cute place with cool décor and a nice atmosphere. It was also pretty quiet and easy to talk, which we’re kinda picky about, so that was cool. Service was friendly and fast, not a thing to complain about. I ordered the Cubano sandwich and it was delicious. Highly recommend. The waffle fries were also incredible — I kept raving about them to my wife. She ordered the pizza and it didn’t blow her away, but she enjoyed it(she’s a bit of a pizza connoiseur). They had a drink list but I couldn’t tell you about anything except for the beer. They had a lot of bottled craft beer and probably six or so on tap. I ordered a Belgian IPA that was really good. Everything was reasonably priced and the portions are plenty big. The two of us ate and drank for $ 30(before tip) and took home half a pizza. Next time we’re in Roanoke we’d love to come back!

Great place! Food is excellent, if a tiny bit pricey. Love the outside seating, only complaint would be to have seating with backs instead of picnic tables. Excellent outdoor atmosphere. I have, however been there when folks have rude, not calm, dogs(or owners) and it’s a drag. I had to sit near one of them recently and it really detracted from my experience. That said, if they could just filter which dogs get in… Never eaten inside. the tables look a bit close to one another. Overall, this is one of my favorites which I try to hit on «off» hours, as it can be crowded.

Came here in the summer on a fairly hot day. Great location and when everyone was out on the greenway it just felt great to be a part of it. I was so excited they allowed dogs outside and the menu looked very interesting! Staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately once the food arrived I found so much of it to be greasy and heavy. Way too much cheese on the pizzas, and the pork on the tacos were fatty and rich. I just felt kind icky after the meal(and I only ate a small portion). Also the flies were utterly oppressive though I know there’s probably not much they could do about it…

Fantastic! I have only been there twice but both times the food and service were excellent. The first time was with a group of friends. Meatball sandwich was very good albeit a bit messy. Healthy portion so yummy leftovers for lunch. Second time was with the family. Two middle school kids with picky tastebuds. Son loved the wings and daughter loved the chicken & waffle fries. Korean tacos are fabulous. My husband enjoyed his Reuben sandwich. Mac & cheese side was okay. Decent beer selection. Looking forward to more visits and nicer weather to dine outside. A+

The wife liked her Reuben sandwich, the sweet potato tots were excellent, and the shrimp appetizer was also good. I had the fish and chips and it was horrible. The batter on the fish was really greasy, heavy, and overpowered the fish. They reminded me of crappy Mrs Paul’s beer battered filets. I ate one and could only manage one bite of the other.

Just ok my fish and chips was over cooked for the size of the fish but the sweet potato tots are great and the piggyback is a pork lovers dream.

Arrived for an early dinner and was greeted immediately by Christopher who sat us and grabbed our drinks, got the river beer– which Christopher made perfect(Makers Mark, Ginger Beer & Mint) I ordered the fish and chips, my husband got the Korean tacos– both were spot on! My husband is British and enjoyed my fish & chips(a first for him to have waffle fries with fish and chips but he enjoyed it!!) I tried his Korean tacos and the sauce had a nice kick– pulled pork melts in your mouth! Dessert we had the deep fried blueberry cake with ice cream and wow it was delicious! Total came to 40.44 which is a damn good deal. Great location– Great service– Great food!

We grabbed dinner at the Green Goat with my family(wife, 3 year old, and a 8 month old). Service was attentive and pleasant. The ambiance was excellent. My wife and I loved the exposed beams and original brick flooring. And then there was the food. Our 3 year old had the Mac and Cheese and squash. My wife got a 12″ pizza(white pizza with spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke). I tried both and really enjoyed them. The crust for the pizza was outstanding. As for me, I ordered the Korean Taco, which included a generous portion(I love food portions) of shredded pork, onions, radishes, and kale. The red sauce that came along with it had a good kick, too much for my wife, but perfect for me. I definitely felt like I chose wisely as I most certainly did not regret my order. Afterwards, I washed it the meal down with The Goat(Belle Isle moonshine infused with the flavor of the week, which was citrus punch). It was good as well. Perhaps it could have been stronger, but I’m not really going to complain. The Green Goat was an excellent choice. And for a small establishment with a bar, it was very family friendly(at least for a Sunday evening)

Great quality ingredients for the price. Had my first Greek salad with a «kale» base lol… Very happy with the experience as a whole. Friendly service… And my husband had the Cubano which was also excellent. :) WILLDEFINITELYREVISIT as we live nearby.

After reading about the Green Goat on Unilocal we decided to overnight in Roanoke on our way from ATL to NYC. I won’t lie, this place was not my first choice until I messaged them about my nut/peanut allergies. Their answer was swift and positive(unlike other restaurants) so I decided it was worth a try. I’m so glad we did because we loved it! I had the GF kale and chicken ravioli and they were so incredibly good. Hubster had the Korean tacos and proclaimed them awesome. Good portions. Good prices. Great people. Cool, casual down to earth place that is perfect after a long trip. Worth the detour and we will do it again. Thanks Green Goat! It’s so very hard for a celiac with nut allergies to find a welcoming place to eat. We will be back!

I thought the food and service here were both great. My meatball sandwich was great as were the waffle fries. My sister had a chicken sandwich w/sweet potato tater tots and she liked those items. The service was fast and friendly. The location is so nice… if you’re biking or walking the greenway, this is a great pit stop.

Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the beer list. Food was very good but the lunch portions were a little small compared to the price. Over all excellent little restaurant in a beautiful location! We will definitely come back when visiting g the area.

I love this restaurant! The décor is perfect and fits the location adjacent to the Roanoke Greenway. I had the Chipotle Honey wings and they were some of the best that I’ve had in the valley. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. I Couldn’t recommend the Green Goat more! I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

Fantastic! It was a little difficult to find and no sign indicating the name of the restaurant, however food was very good and great service. Definitely going back.

What an awesome place, great location, on the river by the greenway, the skate park, Wasena Park, you can walk to Black Dog Salvage. The Korean Tacos were excellent, big portions and the hot sauce is perfect. Outdoor seating is sweet, I love this place!

Fun place to stop along the Greenway and grab a bite to eat and an ice cold brew. Our favorite are the Korean Tacos. We’ve had them twice and both times they were very good. We’ve also had the Cobb salad and the pulled pork wrap and sweet tots. I think the sweet tots could use a little something to make them even better, some seasoning possibly. The cobb salad was good, but not great. What is great are the homemade dressings. They are a standout. Also, the service is very good and the restaurant is kid friendly.

I really liked this place. I had a couple of drinks and a pizza, my husband had a few drinks and the Korean Tacos. We both enjoyed the experience. The service we received was way above the service that we have received in any of the other bar type restaurants in Roanoke. I agree with the other poster about the outdoor seating. They are really not utilizing that space as well as they could be. I expect that we will return to the Green Goat fairly often. ETA: While there I saw many different kinds of attire from what I was wearing, stretchy yoga pants, tank top, and sneakers, to ladies with nicer dresses and guys in dress pants and button downs. I didn’t feel in anyway out of place.

Woohoo! A new place to eat on the greenway! Out for a long, hot walk, we saw that the restaurant in the old Transportation Museum depot was finally open and stopped in for a much needed lemonade. The menu looked good & we returned for dinner. Our pizzas were outstanding! We had a «Trestle»(marinara, sliced tomato, fresh mozzarella and basil) and a build your own(pesto/ricotta base, roasted red peppers, green chilies, sliced tomatoes) — OMG I loved my personally designed pizza! All are 12″ and 3 of us shared. With the addition of the hummus appetizer we had a complete dinner. My husband loved his small-brand beer. The deck seating is comfortable, as is the inside dining area(it started raining, so we experienced both). There are bike racks for those mid-ride. Service was fast and friendly. What more could you want?
