We used to love this place but it has turned into a dump. Very dirty. Lots of trash outside. Kitchen looked super messy. Bathroom was messy too with paper and rolls on floor. Hope they get it together soon or we wont be back

I did not enjoy the experience today at all. There was an over abundance of FLIES! Flies in my food. Flies in my hair. Flies on my straw. Flies EVERYWHERE. Seriously. Health Department I’m afraid of what kitchen must look like. The fact that I had to pay 75¢ for more salad dressing made a bad situation worse.

The burger was all right but what got to me was the my friend sat in a chair that collapsed midway through her meal as one of the legs was poor. My friend was not hurt but when we complained the manager came and filled out a form to help prevent their lawsuit but did NOTHING to rectify the situation. Shows the lack of care for of the customers. Only interested in his own self interests. Sorry Twisted Root… u guys just lost a few customers.

Staff was so rude to me. Our fried pickles had no breading on them, so I asked for something else. I asked the young lady behind the counter for a menu. She huffed at me & screamed out«someone else help this customer!» Then she ran to the kitchen. I believe that if she was one of my employees, I would have fired her on the spot for being so incredibly rude. Wish I could give ZERO stars.

Awesome burger, good fries and great bacon! Would have given this 5 star’s but it was cold inside, and I love cold… but this was cold. No sun out today… we went outside and the tables were nasty and food all over the ground… no one likes sticky arms! We went back in and tables were not very clean either and floor could have used a good sweeping! Only 3 tables of customers at this time, should use the down time to clean! Great food and it does cost more than the normal big burger, but was fresh and tasted great! Watermelon sweet tea was pretty good as well!
Great food. My husband and I got the Kevin Bacon burger, the oldest got the Big Tex, and the youngest got the kids chicken nuggets. And we were all pleased with what we got. My Mom got the Big Fat Greek Salad and was not super happy with it. She said it was basically like getting a burger without the bun. Atmosphere was pure burger joint, very relaxed, very casual, with seating inside and out.

Good burgers and fries. Love their alcoholic milkshakes! Only reason not 5 stars is it’s a little pricier than I like to pay for a burger. But still worth it!

I ordered a milkshake to the cost of $ 4.99. For that price serve it in a glass milkshake glass, not a plastic cup Good points: Instead of a number, you get a quirky name. Mine was Rachel Ray. In her words, the hamburger was delish! Atmosphere is casual.

Great burgers. I can always count on the Spicy Goat burger(not made of actual goat, although you can get game burgers here) for a great lunch. It’s a little on the pricy side, but I have options here that you just cant get anywhere. I also love all their different kinds of pickles!

Been awhile… the Spicy Goat with Onion Strings… definitely worth the trip. Burger has great complimentary flavors… a winner… and the onion strings… pure crunchy excellence.

Paid $ 20 for a bison burger, drink and $ 2 tip. Overpriced but the buffalo burger I built with a fried egg, chipotle ranch, guacamole and pepper jack cheese was delicious! Pineapple lemonade was good and the Atomic pickles are addictive. If you’re into spicy pickles try the«Atomic» pickles but there’s other flavored pickles for your choosing. Love how they use celebrity names to call your order. I got Winona Ryder and on the back it said«Actress/Shoplifter» lol I thought it was hilarious. The humorous signs around the restaurant is a nice touch. Since I’m here in Texas for a business trip I’ll come here for the burger since its paid for by the company but I would not come here if I was paying for it out of my own pocket. To pricy for just a burger. If you got the money, go for it!

Wow, a little pricey and heavy or should I say sneaky on the upsells. I ordered a salad with ranch and the girl at the register is like«would you like an extra ranch on the side?»…um yeah sure, thanks. My wife ordered a burger. Ok sir your total is $ 19.72. Ok Wow, $ 20 for a burger, a salad and two iced teas… wait…what’s that I see… a $ 0.75 charge for EXTRARANCH? WTF? Sneakiest upsell in history right there. Either don’t serve too little ranch for your salad or don’t offer me something that is free at most places without mentioning that it’s almost a buck extra. Thanks. Edit: Ok, the salad was pretty good and my wife is really liking the burger. Two tiny ranch cups should be standard options for this salad, then no sneakiness would be required. Edit 2: Now that I’ve consumed both ranch cups and still have a third of a salad left I see that maybe the poor girl was just keeping me from having to come back up to the front for another ranch or two already. It seems like it’s a portion disparity issue, not a sneaky up selling cashier as I originally suspected.

Decent burger but way overpriced for what you get. I’d been eyeing this spot for a while and finally made it there yesterday(Veterans Day). They offer a few different pickles which is cool, they charge for ranch dressing packets(not cool), and the real deal killer for me is the shakes aren’t made from icecream. Sorry but I’ve never in my life met a soft cream machine shake I’ve liked. I couldn’t resist the s’mores shake, but wish if passed. Tasted blahh. Anyway, overall it was a 2 star experience. For $ 20 per person I expect more.

Second time to this location and it doesn’t disappoint. Service is always on point. The menu is delightfully crowded and Über busy but I believe it adds to the charm. When it’s busy it’s important to have your order ready before you get to the register — avoid dirty looks from frequent customers. I especially like that they have a separate line for just beer and shakes, granted, both times I’ve been here it hasn’t been crowded enough to need it, but it’s good to know it’s there. The burgers are delicious. The ancho-chipotle ketchup is off the chain. Root beer is tasty and refreshing. Can’t say enough to express my delight with this place.

They were in the weeds on Thursday night! Most tables were waiting for their food for a while. When ours finally came, the meat was raw; I’m talking dripping blood and red all throughout… all three burgers. In addition, they didn’t have the onion strings ready yet when the burgers came out and two sets of fries were undercooked. We sent two of the burgers back, my husband wasn’t willing to wait so he ate his as is, and they came back in much better shape, more medium to medium well. Mine came back with the wrong cheese, but that’s okay, they were clearly going crazy in the kitchen. It ended up fine, and thankfully my daughter just got the kid’s chicken and a shake so she wasn’t complaining, but for a total bill of $ 52, we should have just gone to Kincaid’s.

Look… This is a cool joint. The food is good. Slow but… one beer down. Burgers are well done(not for me) and loaded with«stuff»(takes away from a burger) — I like quality meat flavor. However, the atmosphere rocks and the staff is fun. The fried green beans were good and beer on tap is excellent!!! The condiments were tasty but the pickles are meh. Def worth the cost $$. Love the atmosphere! Wilson, Tiger Woods, Marylyn Monroe, Mr. T… located in the«country». Music is OK(update?). Very refreshing change. Get some today!!!

Twisted Root Burger Company is slowly becoming my go-to when I need to satisfy my Friday burger and a beer craving. Each location has a «dive like» atmosphere distinctive to their brand. However, the uniqueness doesn’t stop there! Instead of taking your name, you are assigned celebrity’s name the staff calls over the loud speaker, but pay attention, Demi Moore isn’t actually eating there, your food maybe ready. Now these aren’t your run-of-the-mill burgers. With specialty burgers like the western, freshman 15 and the sexy Hawaiian, you’re sure to find something to satisfy even you wildest taste buds. Not to mention the options to build your burger and cheddar fries. With great food, and a decent variety of beer, it would be hard to go wrong. After visiting the location in Hurst, TX my wife and I decided to stop in to the Roanoke location. With the line nearly out the door we waited patiently for about 30 minutes before our order was taken. However, our was ready right about the time we picked our table and grabbed some of their specialty flavored pickles. The next time you are looking for a good burger and a beer, stop in to the Twisted Root Burger Co. in Roanoke or Hurst. You won’t be disappointed.

Twisted Root made my heart sing. I was visiting Texas from Chicago and found this gem on Unilocal.I’m glad we came. This is a great place to go with a group of friends or your family. I loved that they give you a fun name to know when your order is ready. My name was Miss America. I thought it was totally fitting lol. So now on to the food… I tried the fat Elvis milkshake. It had banana, peanut butter, chocolate, and BACON. I love bacon and this milkshake was sooooo good! Their milkshakes are not heavy which is good because you will need the room for your food. They also have a pretty long list of alcoholic milkshakes. They were $ 8 a piece. I had the southern comfort burger with this delicious burbon sauce, bacon of course, cheddar, and fried green tomatoes. The sides are a la carte. I had the fries which had a great seasoning. The burger was super delish! If you like pickles, they also have five or six different flavors that you can try. This place is a little pricey but you have to pay for a good burger. I really enjoyed myself and will make sure that I come back on my next visit.

Here’s the deal with this place. Is it the best burger you are ever going to have hands down? No, I’m afraid not. Is it going to be a cheap burger then? Nope. But is it a good burger with quality ingredients for a good price. Yes, I think so. I have been to this joint a few times in the two years I can honestly say that it’s different but in a good way. Non traditional ingredients but made in a very approachable way. I like that they have their own homemade sodas and lemonade as well as the traditional and the pickles are awesome. What I don’t like about this place is that it sort of lacks organization regarding tables. I wish everyone would realize that if you just got your food and then sat down that the flow wouldn’t be so crazy. Also if someone was bussing table during the busy times than the turn over would go much faster and smoother. So all in all. Solid three stars. Maybe even three and a half!
