Great beer. As a matter of fact, I am not a beer lover whatsoever, but the beer I had at Grand Rounds was fantastic(5 stars). However, the salad I had was not quite up to par. It had all the good ingredients I wanted and was good quality, but it was bland overall and the flavors didn’t meld(3 stars). Overall, I would only really return for a beer and bar food. The healthier selections just don’t cut it.

Good was very good. Service was a bit slow outside but that is my only complaint. My husband said the coconut beer was amazing. Gluten free options and a cheap but good kids menu. Fries were great! Had a burger and husband had a beef rib that was tender and delicious.

I have visited this restaurant twice, and both times I was disappointed. First time: bland specialty Bloody Mary, the waiter misspoke about the goat cheese spread(said it had flour in it. it doesn’t.) My fellow dinners enjoyed the beer, and their food was unremarkable. Second time: I was super excited for a sandwich on gluten free bread. The veggie sandwich turns out to include uncooked and unseasoned planks of carrots, lettuce, cucumber, and tomato. Small smear of the aforementioned goat cheese spread. It fell apart and was nearly inedible. My kiddo liked the mac and cheese. We had to go to the hostess stand to get our bill after waiting for it for over 20 minutes after asking for it. I sent a message to Grand Rounds via Facebook about my disappointing meal. While they read it, they chose not to respond or fix anything. Not exactly bearers of any sort of high quality customer service standards. I want to like this place. It’s well decorated and in a great location. But with all the other options in the area with great service as well as flavorful food, I see no need to return.

Had an excellent time here while on vacation. Had Bloody mart with small wheat beer. Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and house chips. Pleasant view of third street and down town! Super fun!

We were in town for a wedding and stopped in for lunch. .the hotdogs with jalapeño jam and bacon jam and a side of homade Mac and cheese. .the bomb! The coconut stout that they make. so good that a almost no beer drinker bought a jug to bring home to Oklahoma! Great service too!

Great service but the food was below satisfactory and they need more selection for nonalcoholic drinks

We had a great time there Thursday with some neighborhood friends. The food was good, they have a big menu. I settled on the Tuscan seafood pasta and liked it a lot. Had a couple skinny margaritas they were fine. Didn’t really hear any complaints from our group.

Food: Okay. Beer: Great! Even though it was starting to get busy, the service was great at the bar. I started with the scotch ale. It was so good, I didn’t bother with anything else, and had two more. If you like Oskar Blues’ Old Chub, this is very similar. One of my go-tos, for sure. The BrewQue Burger was good, but, like others said, the food seemed a little bland even with all of the big-flavor ingredients. The fries were also a bit underwhelming. I was there during happy hour and my total came out to be much less than expected. Overall, I’ll definitely be back while I’m in town for the next few days.

There is a thinner bearded fellow behind the bar who knows a great deal about beer and provides above-average customer service. Their Freedom Scotch Ale is delightful – the first I’ve found to stand up to Kettlehouse’s Cold Smoke. The coffee stout also gets my motor running.

I really like the atmosphere, open and contemporary, but the service is very slow. The food was good, nothing to write home about, but ok. We’ll come again, but hopefully service will improve.

We went with a large group, and ordered many types of beer and a variety of menu items. The majority of the food(pizza, marinara, mac and cheese, chicken pot pie, roasted cauliflower) was bland and under salted. The only items that were acceptable were the ruben and a steak and egg sandwich(called the beast and the bird or something?). The only reason I didn’t give it 1 star was because the beer was delish! We loved the kolsch, liked the peanut butter cup stout, and also the EPA or IPA(forgot). Go for beer, skip the bland food.

My wife and I were down in Rochester and wanted to try one of the new Brew Pubs. We had an infant and his Grandparents and my cool sister and brother-in-law. We put together 2 tables and it was loud at first, but quieted down as the day went on. I ordered a grapefruit IPA. Really good. I got the Rise of the Phoenix grilled chicken sandwich. It is a Tabasco-marinated chicken topped with sauteed habaneros and jalapenos, ghost pepper cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. So good, Very not Mid-west. It is SPICY, but I love spicy. But be warned, you will not like it if you are heat(Spicy) adverse. Very tender chicken with an onion roll bun. Really crummy to charge $ 2.50 to sub a side salad for the Freedom fries. The salad was just a bunch of lettuce with dressing.(Note to management, that is a really hack job to charge $ 2.50 to sub lettuce for some Freedom fries.) The lettuce was fresh and good though. You should be able to sub for free though. I got the coconut stout for my second beer, it was on nitro. Good beer. Nice coconut hints. Our waitress was super cool and attentive. 5 Stars!

Yay I love this place! SO many beer options and a knowledgable staff. Great location in downtown Rochester and apparently their cheese curds were voted the 2nd best appetizer in the city(yes they are delicious). Happy hour deals here are awesome too. Will definitely be back.

Gluten Free Review +Menu noted with gluten free options +Gluten Free Bread for Burgers and Hotdogs Instant 5 stars for having a gluten-free menu and all of your choices noted with allergy restrictions. Had to come here for my ladies event and I sat at the bar for a couple hours and understood the workings of this business. The bartenders and staff are excellent and well versed in the menu choices and drink selections. I have never had official poutine fries before so I decided to give it a go since they were also able to make them gluten free. These cheese curd fries loaded with sauce, pulled pork, and french fries were super tasty and crispy, and the cheese was almost that of a mozzarella and was very delicious. I also got the BBQBurger without the BBQ sauce because their sauce is made with beer which makes since, this is a brewery after all. They didn’t have any gluten-free beer so I opted for cider which they were out of, so instead I dove into a cocktail called the Chef Alex which was basically an old fashioned, was very good and great flavors. The bathroom hand towels and bathroom itself are beautifaully decorated and legit as it comes. I’d come back here many times if I lived in the area. Thank you Grand Rounds for providing a gluten free menu and excellent atmosphere.

When your server is continuously apologizing, it’s a bad sign… The slow service here is really what drives the review. We ordered a few beers and an appetizer. The beers arrived well after we had finished eating the appetizer and probably took 20 minutes to come out. The server was very nice and apologetic, so this was likely a bartender and kitchen issue. The dinners were also somewhat slow to come out. In total, we had a house salad, the historic 3rd street burger, and the mac-n-cheese with grilled chicken(odd combination). The person who had the burger thought it had an odd taste and wondered what horse meat tasted like. The salad was decent and the mac-n-cheese was tasty, though a strange combination with grilled chicken pieces on top. The beers were okay, but there are several other places in town to get a good beer, so I’m not sure how often I’ll be back.

Love their beer!!! You can also get a growler to take home with. Great service, atmosphere and they also have live music.(Can be loud if you are planning on having some conversation…) I don’t know why their rating is not higher. Especially there are not that many good places to eat in Rochester.(I am usually a harsh grader and I am giving 4 stars!) Compared to the rest of the restaurants in Rochester, I think the food here is pretty good. Ruben: really good. Highly recommend it. Mushroom risotto: also delicious. Buffalo tartar: gamey(but that’s what it’s supposed to taste like, if you like gamey meat, you’ll like it) Burgers and fries: better than standard from a bar.

Recently gone out here for late night dinner with a friend. We had originally been sitting outside when it got a bit chilly and our hostess was happy to help us move inside the restaurant. We both ordered food. Our food did not take long to appear. Nothing speculator stood out from me. Pretty average American food served here. Atmosphere was really laid back and hipster like. The only thing I didn’t like was when my server made me feel rushed to pay and leave. After our plates were cleared, the bill was placed immediately on our table. We didn’t pay right it away since we both wanted to sit and visit more. I did feel annoyed how frequently our server stopped at our table to check if we’re ready to pay, when we obviously weren’t. The server looked displeased. After chatting for another 30 minutes, I began to reach for my purse to pay when the server appeared once again before I got my wallet out and ready to take my money. I don’t plan on going back again with their impatient servers waiting to shoo you out once you’re done eating.

Came here a couple of times. Nothing spectacular but it’s a nice little place to hang out. Laid back hipster atmosphere. Service is good. The food is pretty good too. I haven’t had any drinks here so won’t comment about that. I did have the beef and egg sandwich(can’t remember the name) and it was so messy by tasty. I wouldn’t have it again unless it’s for breakfast though. Anyway I’ll probably be back.

We arrived as a party of three late-afternoon and were able to be immediately seated. The two other members of my party have been here previously and highly recommended the bar food here — so I had high expectations! Overall the place wasn’t very packed so I would characterize the service a bit slow. It took a while for the server to return to take our orders after menus and quite a while longer before appetizers were served. We were essentially completely finished with appetizers and waiting before our main courses were served — but the beer was pretty quick. Maybe that was by design… I ordered the ‘Beef & The Bird’ burger while others of my party ordered the Mac & Cheese and Reuben with side of Mac & Cheese. I actually really enjoyed my burger but it is hard to mess up anything with fried egg in my book. I will say my steak patty was very well done and was difficult to chew at points(and tasteless because of this). I was told the reuben was perfect but the side of Mac & Cheese was equivalent in size to the actual ‘Big Plate’ Mac & Cheese. So at least one member of my party left hungry and disappointed. I can highly recommend the beer battered cheese curds as they are better than any mozzarella stick you can get elsewhere. We’ll probably be back because their beer is decent. But their kitchen should be able to keep up and their portion size will need to be adjusted.

I’m sorry, but if service is bad, it almost doesn’t matter how the food tastes. Party of five. Sat down and immediately told our servers(looked like one was in training) we were in kind of a hurry. Ordered drinks. Ordered food. Servers acknowledged we were in a hurry and didn’t say anything that would indicate they could not accommodate our need for a little haste. Everything was SO slow. Sloooooooooowwwwww. One of our party had a beer by the time we arrived a bit later. We ordered two more beers and waited and waited. Ordered our food and another beer at the same time. It took ages for the bartender to even pour the beer, then we watched as it sat at the server area at the bar. And it sat there, and sat there, and sat there. Amongst the five of us we ordered four salads total. No well-done steaks, nothing with complicated prep or presentation. Yet it took so long to get our food and it had been so long since the servers came by our table that one of my friends actually got up and asked another server to check on our food. Meanwhile, one of us ordered a second beer, which never came. So our friend walked up to the bar and ordered directly from the bartender and brought it to the table. A good 10 minutes later someone(not our server) approached us with the beer that had been ordered eons beforehand. Restaurant was not full, but perhaps they were understaffed. Whatever the reason, it was too long to wait for attention, drinks and food. The beer was good, from what I heard. I had the Thai Chicken Salad and it was pretty tasty, though they were a little heavy-handed with the dressing. If you like a lighter touch I’d ask for the dressing on the side. The location is great… near the Civic Center, on a corner, looks bright and pretty inside. Just not good with the service that night.
