Homewood Suites by Hilton Rochester/Henrietta

This is not what I expected. The rooms are not upgraded. In the fitness center none of the treadmills were working. However the location is easily accessible
from the highway and there are quite a few restaurants nearby.

Home away from home! This is one of the nicest hotels I stayed at. Rooms are clean, bed is extremely comfortable. All rooms are equipped with kitchens stocked with basic necessities to cook in the room. The staff is great. I’m a truck driver and after long hours on the road nothing like shutting down in a pleasant quiet modern hotel.

I am just finishing my stay here at Homewood suites, and I have to say this is the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are friendly and courteous, everything they said they offer they do, and they went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. Every time I am in Rochester, I will be staying here!

When you check in people here are friendly. This hotel gets a nice mix of people. Folks stay here for business, family gatherings and folks bring pets too. I like the location because it’s close to my office and wegmans! They have free wine and beer after work and very basic food offerings. I wouldn’t recommend the food but stop down and check it out for the drinks and incase they have warm cookies. Think the beds and pillows are comfortable my husband doesn’t love them. Good TV station offerings and a real kitchen in every room which is why it’s so nice for a longer stay. If you need a friendly and comfortable affordable place to stay in rochhester I would recommend it.

Every thing is great except one thing. You cannot use the internet when the hotel is full. It’s worse then dial up, which is unacceptable in today’s world. Why doesn’t this hotel upgrade there internet to accommodate there customers. Boooo…

Comfortable, clean, well stocked rooms. The bathroom could have been a little less shabby, but overall it was a pleasant stay. I liked the dishes and cutlery they had, it was a nice touch. One issue: there were nowhere near enough power outlets, and the ones they had were badly located.

The room was clean, nothing fancy. The bed was comfortable. The satellite TV was very bothersome on certain channels; that could use some improvement.

I was looking for an extended stay type hotel since I was traveling with my small kids, and having a kitchen and a fridge is mission critical. This place was conveniently located to where I needed to be, priced right, and had the kitchen I wanted.
Check in was smooth, staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was in decent condition. It was clean and tidy but worn in certain areas. The carpet was coming up at the transition between the bedroom and bathroom tile. The toilet in the bathroom rocked. Otherwise all the furniture was in good shape and the bed was comfortable, but that’s totally subjective.
My biggest complaint was that the room smelled like smoke. I reserved a non smoking room and the entire floor smelled like smoke. The extra linens in the zip bag for the fold away bed smelled like smoke too. I mentioned it to the staff and they offered to have us switch rooms, but it was way more trouble than it was worth to pack up all our kit and the 2 kids so we just dealt with it.
The breakfast they offered was pretty good, nothing overly fancy but tasty enough and hot. They also do dinner 4 nights a week, but we didn’t try that.
The room had free wifi and a decent cable tv selection. Parking was plentiful and free, although the hotel is kind of spread out so if you park near the room, you may have to take 3 flights of stairs to get there, or park near the lobby to take the elevator to walk down 3 miles of hallway to get to your room.
They have pay laundry facilities and a little tiny shop with random snacks, treats, and necessities like band aids, toothbrushes, laundry soap, etc.
They do have an indoor pool and a hot tub, but we didn’t use those either.
I’d stay here again, but I’d ask for a room far from the smoking rooms right away.

Overall, this hotel was great. The staff were very friendly. My rating is because I was in a smoke free room but smelled smoke. Upon checkout I mentioned my concern to the front desk and was told they had smoking rooms down the hall from my room. I wish I had known that when I made the reservation so I could have avoided any area near a smoking section. Hopefully this info will help others.

Before I moved here, this is the hotel I stayed at twice when I visited family. Unlike most of the modern style hotels, this remains a quiet, traditional style that really does feel like a home!
About a few years ago, they had the older tube televisions in the rooms but they upgraded to some flat-​panel LCD’s instead… a nice bonus. The rooms are spacious and open with a good-​sized kitchen complete with toaster, full oven-​range, fridge, dishes and every other kitchen materials you would need.
Complete with complementary breakfast lunch and dinner, there is a pool and whirlpool with an exercise room, al well maintained and up to speed. Not that expensive to stay so I recommend it greatly!

A great, simple hotel. My girlfriend and I stayed overnight after dropping off my brother at RIT (which is less than a mile up the road) after Thanksgiving. Everything was clean and felt recently updated. The carpets were new and the furniture was in good condition.
Our room had a separate living room and bedroom. It also had a kitchenette with silverware, plates/​cups, a mini stove, a mid-​sized fridge, and a coffee maker. Granite countertops throughout. All clean, though I could tell the cutlery hadn’t been touched in ages.
The separate bedroom door was great to ensure our room stayed quiet even when people were in the hallway. There were a lot of families and children during our one-​night stay, but we hardly noticed thanks to the extra door. We slept like babies.
The king bed was one of the MOST comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept on! The mattress felt new — no sagging or lumps. It was springy yet soft, the sheets/​pillowcases were soft and smelled fresh, and the comforter was thick and soft. The bed alone was enough for me to come back again. Much needed after a 7 hour drive from Boston.
The bathroom was rather small, nothing crazy, but it was clean and well-​stocked with towels and toiletries. If you forget any toiletries you can call the front desk for complimentary ones which was a great Hilton touch.
There is a pool (didn’t use or see it), complimentary breakfast, and free wi-​fi. Some HD channels on TV. The pool is directly off the lobby, so the lobby smelled a bit like chlorine when we walked in (kind of off-​putting) but the rest of the hotel smelled fine so I let it slide.
Overall, a very pleasant stay with helpful staff and a quiet atmosphere. I’ve stayed at other hotels in the RIT area and they’ve had problems (noisy, smelly, out-​dated, etc) but I would definitely recommend this one to any RIT families that need a comfortable place to spend the night. I’ll be sending my parents here when they pick up my brother for the Xmas holiday in a few weeks.

Nice place for an extended stay, or even for one night! The rooms and common areas are nice clean and modern. The staff is friendly and attentive. I I would definitely stay here again.

Nice quiet hotel with large suites in the outskirts of Rochester.
The only bad thing about the hotel is that it hasn’t been updated in a long time so the rooms are a bit dated. The parking lot is also a little weird and was basically out of spaces one of the nights I stayed here.

Clean, free wifi, free dinner and hot breakfast, pool, suites with a real door, full kitchens, even a fish tank in the lobby. Best value in hotel.

Great place to chill while traversing the New York State thruway. Service and overall attitude is excellent, room was clean and just what we needed!

Great place for a family to stay… we got the «last room»…104 — a smoking room — normally disqualifies it right away… and while it WAS SMOKEY it was ok for the nigh…
Check out the Champps for dinner and we enjoyed the putting green they have (bring your own balls and putters) before bed time…
But it was QUIET… and we all slept well
Breakfast the next day was great (pan cakes and sausage patties) and everyone who worked there was friendly…

Just completed our second stay at this hotel. The first was last summer just after they opened, and it was phenomenal. Almost a year later, things are just as good. The hotel is in excellent condition, it still feels brand new. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. The breakfast food and presentation is good. The price for a suite with two queen beds was quite reasonable. Our kids enjoy the indoor pool. The lounge area is clean and comfortable.
A minor flaw was handled well. Our room was not spotless upon check-​in and we mentioned the couple of minor problems to the desk staff on our way out the door our first day. When we returned all of the items had been addressed. Subsequent room servicing was good.
The hotel is located adjacent to I-​90, and there is some road noise in the rooms. It’s not bad, but definitely noticeable.
We are in the area at least once a year to visit family. We will continue to stay here as long as they can maintain the current state.
