When i come home to Rochester I stop here first. I loved this location when it was Don and Bob’s and I have to say that Tom Wahl’s makes a delicious ground round. The onion rings are crispy and not too much breading, get the ground round on a hard roll and don’t call it a hamburger. I love the inside of this restaurant and there are pictures of my classmates on the walls of the restaurant from Brighton High School back in the day. My husband is even in the wrestling picture! The root beer is some of the best i have ever had. I highly recommend this place for a quick, tasty and reasonable meal. Oh… they have great coupons on line too.

Best cheeseburger I’ve had! This is my new #2 favorite place for a cheeseburger! (Charlies is first — have to be honest!) Tom Wahl’s has awesome burgers though — I wish I had room for 2 burgers but I was stuffed after 1! Can’t wait to go back!

Whenever I head up to rochester, I always have to go to Tom Wahl’s. They have decent speed, and and delicous food. The hamburgers are amazing, the hot dogs are amazing, and the homemade rootbeer just makes it even better.

Tom Wahl’s used to have great hamburgers. They were so large the bun didn’t cover them. Now they are super small, burned and very dry. Not worth the price. Go somewhere else, you’ll get a better burger.

Wahl’s like so many of our other local hamburger chains has great cheesburgers with their own particular version of hot sauce. A good go to staple that will completely fill you up. And I do agree with Erin R., the onion rings are excellent.
But avoid the fish frys at all costs. The cornmeal breading is uninteresting. There’s so much better, fresher, and lighter fish frys to be had. Boccacini’s in nearby Perinton Hills Mall has a much better fry for a Friday evening.

The onion rings are SPECTACULAR, and I love a good grilled cheese… When I’m craving a burger, Tom’s is one of my favorites, but they always skimp on the lettuce and tomato unless you make a point of asking for more than one limp leaf and a transparently-​thin slice of tomato.
You know what is awesome here? ROOTBEER FLOATS. So good!

This particular location of Tom Wahls is rather disappointing.
The burgers are fine, and the fries are OK, but the Onion rings were mostly breading and were rather flavorless.
I guess I miss Don’s Original’s onion rings.
Still better than a fast food chain burger.

Delicious and hefty cheeseburgers that are oh so good! Fries are very tasty and slightly *crispy* delicious home made root beer, a great place to grab a quick bite in the Brighton area! The girl at the register unfortunately was a snot, she slightly chuckled when I asked for everything on my burger, and she widened her eyes at me quickly and then back down to her register like I was insane… apparently that left a bad taste in my mouth because I vividly remember such a small thing and still am not over it apparently. I will be back though! Hopefully next time I will get a pleasant employee that doesn’t criticize me with her facial expressions.

I will miss Don’s Original, but Tom Wahl’s is a great addition to the neighborhood. And it means I won’t have to go to a mall just for a wahlburger. The food was great, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was very nice. I am looking forward to walking here in the summer for dinner and frozen custard.
