We love Mongolian BBQ but our favorite place was closed so we came here. The place was just opening and there was one couple in the restaurant before us. We went up to get a bowl and noticed that their tray of meat had probably 10 shriveled-up pieces on the bottom of the tray. When I tried to pick one up, I couldn’t because they were frozen to the bottom of the tray. Apparently they had been frozen overnight in the metal tray. That gave me the worst first impression of the place. We told the waitress and she got a new bag of meats to put in the tray(over the dried up ones). But the image of the dried up pieces of stuck meat will forever be etched in my memory. Everything was just… ok. The chicken salad looked a little sketchy so we didn’t eat that. The place is clean and the waitress is nice, but the food is bland. We can get better tasting Mongolian BBQ elsewhere. Disappointing.

Service sucked, food wasn’t good at all. Wouldn’t recommend. People that worked there completely rude. Sizzle Mongolian BBQ is way better!

This location is sort of difficult to see but if you want a lot of food for a little money it’s worth the hunt. The place itself is very large for a Mongolian BBQ with standard fast food type décor, nothing fancy here. For the measly price of $ 7 you get a one time pass through the Mongolian line and unlimited trips to the salad bar. There is chicken salad, Kim Chee salad, soup and wonton skins in the salad bar. On top of all this you get fried rice and an egg roll! The food is pretty standard. I thought the noodles were a little to tough but everything else was good and the food was well kept, not messy at all. I was pretty disappointed with the soup as it was to watery but the excellent sweet n sour sauce with the wonton skins made up for it. Dinner is only $ 10 for AYCE and they will give you a togo box as well. Overall, this place is a great value, but the food didn’t make me crave a return trip, therefore a 3 star rating. If you are craving Mongolian JJ’s will feed your hunger at a low price.

The Mongolian BBQ is a family favorite. We stop pretty much every trip back and forth to the mountains. Not only is the food great and fresh, process quick and delicious, but it has help d my kids learn to eat veggies next to their favorite Asian noodles. We have tried others along I-80 but all agree that this is the best.

I have been coming here since I was about 9 or 10 and I’ve always loved how on top of everything this place seemed to be. Greeted with smiles and polite staff. Today marked my last day here ever. I watched one of the waitresses stand behind the counter and take a picture of a customer without his knowledge. Not only that, but she laughed as she sent it to who knows who on her phone. Yes, this customer was different. He had a clear disability that set him apart from others. The fact that she took a picture and then laughed as she shared it was messed up. Never coming back.

I took the wife here last week for lunch. We walked in and weren’t sure what to do. We had to wait for the employees to finish their conversation to tell us to sit anywhere. Every Mongolian bbq place is similarly set up but the nuances are always different. Good: A bunch of meat choices Bad: Everything else We got our bowls, picks our meat and no one there to cook it. Mind you, this is the beginning of the lunch rush hour and only one other group there who were obviously business people who were there for the talking not the enjoying of food. Back at it, one of the front staff had to ring a bell several times to get him to come out. While he was cooking we saw you could get a salad and some fried wontons. They were bland and stale. The salad was so over dressed in some vinegar dressing that it was inedible. We saw egg rolls when we got to our table. It was a fried roll with almost nothing inside and obviously frozen and not fresh. I see that we were supposed to get soup based on the other reviews… we did not get any so I cant review that. The bowl was finally done and was so greasy and bland that my wife only ate half and quit. I ate my bowl because I was hungry and bland is better than bad tasting but by the time I dropped her off at work the bathroom was calling. The banner outside said $ 5 something for lunch… yet we were charged $ 10 a piece. It wasn’t worth the $ 5 posted. Overall, it was a major disappointment. Maybe I’m spoiled from the east coast having Genghis Grill(a mongolian bbq chain) and their offerings so much better but so far I’m having a rough time finding good Mongolian BBQ. This place certainly isn’t worth the money.

Right before we went in, I was saying something to my boyfriend about how I hate writing reviews for places when the food is really bad and the customer service is really stellar. (Foreshadowing.) Well, the customer service was pretty good. The people who worked there were all really nice, especially the cook, who went out of his way to smile and talk to us. The food was just so, so bad. Maybe we should have known better from the outer appearances of the building, or maybe we should have been tipped off by the fact that the only other customers were the employees, but we had to have Mongolian, and we had time-constraints, so that was that. The chicken pieces were not frozen solid as they typically are, but seemed to have been thawed out for quite some time. The fried wontons were cold and stale. The soup, egg rolls, sweet and sour sauce, and vegetables were all okay. The sauce was arranged in quite an unfortunate pattern. There are nine vats, three deep, and three across, with lobster sauce in the back, which automatically makes at least six of the sauces quite potentially unsafe to anyone like me who is allergic to shellfish. Of the three remaining sauces, one was cooking wine, which I also cannot have. So, I took my chances on the ginger and hot oil, and ended up with mostly just kun pao sauce. It was just bad. The chicken and the noodles tasted like there was just something wrong with them. And, considering the state of the chicken, maybe there was something wrong with it, but at least the staff was friendly, and neither one of us ended up getting sick.

I don’t write review often, but I think I have to say something about this restaurant. I don’t know how this restaurant get good reviews. but just stay away from it. Price for dinner is only 10 bucks, but food is horrible. You get ONE vegetable egg roll, a noodle, a choice of frozen beef, chicken, and pork, plus some vegetables, which are not very fresh. The tofu is spoiled and smells so badly. You can get chips(did not look good to try), some kind of soup that I can’t eat a second spoon, and kimchi, which I can’t eat even though I love kimchi. Food is limited and the place is dirty, which makes it even worse. I had bad allergy after eating there, and my boyfriend had a diarrhea(maybe due to the bad tofu). I would say this is the worst restaurant that I have ever been to. Will never come back again. I don’t expect much at this price, but food at least should be edible.

Be prepared to wear your fat pants, this place will definitely get you fat. Im sitting here feeling bitter sweet I feel so full and I can’t breathe. The service is good the staff is really helpful. I recommend not stuffing yourself with noodles but stuff yourself with the tasty meats and vegetables. Try not to get soda so you won’t feel as bloated. Soup was ok and was the egg rolls. My favorite concoction is three teriyaki, half spoon of garlic, 2 soy sauce, and one ladle of sesame for good measure.

This place is a solid place to have lunch. Don’t believe me? Look at the huge lunch rush at this place. For less than 10 dollars, you get soup, fried rice, a bunch of other simpler appetizers and of course noodles and beef served up in a bowl. The lunch special is not all you can eat, but I rarely find myself able to have more than one bowl so that’s ok. The rest is pretty standard Mongolian. The interior is not going to win any awards of décor, but it does the job. They are super fast and attentive with service. I can’t remember a second my glass stayed empty. This place definitely just got added into the lunch rotation. Don’t forget a few singles to tip the grill guy! I always feel bad when I forget even if I tip on the bill for some reason. That might just be me.

I love this place. If you’re looking for a very casual place to munch on some Mongolian BBQ at a good price, this is the place to go. I come here with my kids and the staff is very considerate of us when we arrive, like Shawn A. said they remember their repeat customers. It is a very laid back establishment so if you’re looking for the Ritz you may be looking for something else.

I have been coming here since it opened. Love the place. I like that they will let you take a to go box with you during lunch time, something that a lot of Mongolian bbq places won’t let you do even if you are paying for one bowl. Can’t go wrong.

Always the best Mongolia bbq around! The food is fresh and the chicken salad is great, always serve yourself soup, oranges and jello. Clean and friendly! The ladies will remember you if you come back and have always been so nice and friendly!

I’ve been coming here for years and it appears they’ve changed the name to Go Mongolian BBQ. I noticed that the last time I ate there, and paid cash, they didn’t ring up the order but rather, made change out of the open change drawer. I had lunch there again today and they did the same thing, made change out of the open cash drawer without ringing up the order. Since I pay my taxes, I resent this activity. I won’t be back but perhaps the Board of Equalization investigator will stop by for lunch instead.

Came in here when it was almost closing and they still filled the noodle and meat trays for my pickings. They even offered me a second bowl to fill as they knew the house was shutting down. This alone is not why I consider them the best Mongolian BBQ in Roseville. The food was delish! Not a very fancy place at all but at least they have a big screen tv. Pricing is what you would expect for Mongolian BBQ not terribly cheap but not too expensive either. I would recommend this place to anyone who hasn’t tried a place like this and to those who are fans of this cuisine. My family all enjoyed their meal and the staff still cared with customer service even at closing time.

OMG — we will NEVER come back to this place. There was no one here on a Friday night, that should have been a huge red flag, but we were craving Mongolian BBQ and our usual Mongolian BBQ joint ran out of food and we didn’t want to wait an hour for them to re-fill. This place was dirty(tables were completely sticky) and smelled, similar to the taste of the food, a bit off. Nothing was fresh — didn’t look or smell fresh, and some of their already cooked side items — were either completely depleted(we were there around 7PM) and they had no intention of refilling(soup) or was just old and stale. It just seemed the food had been sitting out for quite a while, and not in it’s best condition.

Compared to some of the other Mongolian BBQ places I’ve been to, they have a better selection of side/appetizer items. The chicken salad was good(a little too much cilantro for my tastes) and the pickled cabbage(or at least I think that’s what it was) was ok too. There was also egg rolls, soup, rice, and jello. The bowls are a little smaller than I expected but I guess that’s not really an issue for some people because they fill it until their tower of ingredients is about to tip over. The chefs must not grill the food as long or they use a lower heat because at some places my bowl of food is steaming like a boiling pot and it takes a while to cool off. Here, I was able to dig in right away. I came at lunch time and it was practically devoid of people. But that’s not too surprising because like every other place I’ve been to, they charge extra for more than one bowl at lunch so most people come at dinner.

Had the BBQ again after a long long time and it was so good. Better than I even remember! The service was great and I was especially impressed when my son went back for another bowl the owner/server brought a new napkin and fork for him because the other bowl had been cleared already. I especially liked that they had fresh tomatoes and tofu, red and green bell peppers and their meat tasted like real meat. I also really enjoyed their veggie spring rolls. And it may sound strange but they have the BEST ice water! I don’t know if it is filtered or what but it tasted great! We will be back more often for sure.
